Unfortunately, the movers never showed up. The manager I spoke with, Devonte is the name he mentioned, told me both over the phone and via text that the two movers were on their way. However, he never provided a confirmed ETA and repeatedly pushed back their arrival time. We waited with no clear communication and ultimately no service. No follow-up, no accountability -- just empty assurances while our moving timeline was completely disrupted. In my opinion, this experience felt deceptive and completely unprofessional. Moving is already overwhelming, and this company provided zero support or reliability when we needed it most. We have reported this business to the Better Business Bureau so that others are aware of our experience. I also believe companies that promote third-party services, like U-Haul, should take greater responsibility in vetting the businesses they recommend. Customers trust these referrals. The night before there was confirmation of the moving arrangements. The day of, I received a call to keep me posted of expected time of arrival and point of arrival. The young men, Diquan (owner) and Donavan, were very pleasant with in-person introductions and hand shakes. They were in their company labeled pull-overs with gloves at the ready. They got right to work. They were careful and quick. They were not put off by suggestions for navigation of the move at the pick-up site. They packed the items in the truck with awareness of spacing and care of the items (which included a mirror). I received a follow-up call when they reached the delivery address. They asked where each item should be placed. They were aware of difficult room entries and made adjustments without damaging the property. They let me know when the last item was off the truck and being placed in the appropriate room. There were various ways to pay, which was discussed prior to the day of the job. I rendered payment at the end. They thanked me. I thanked them and asked for business cards to share. I will be recommending them and using them again. Thank you guys! Just to start with the experience itself was really slow and it was explained to my sister that there would be three movers and only two showed up. The process was slow and I felt frustrated - and based on interactions with the individuals assigned to my specific job- I am not quite sure exactly what was the point of hiring movers. It took the movers from around 9:30 to 2:30 to pack a full truck. I would describe the demeor of the two men as slap happy or almost unprofessional- it felt that you were always almost being laughed at or condescended. It almost seemed the two men were deliberately taking there time to add hours on the clock and pay. If that wasn't enough- here are a few main events that were alarming- - while at my old apartment, the movers literally asked me how/to help move the couch down the outdoor stairwell. I don't want to gripe or be a snot, but kinda thought- this is exactly why professional movers were hired...... - the second thing- getting into my new place- when the men came to my lobby, when they came to my lobby- I was literally asked- can we just leave the stuff in the lobby? Please, please- please do not hire this company they do not give a single crap about the experience provided- they just want you money at the end of the day and good reviews without actually delivering. Their booking system is easy to use, they are quick in turnaround responses, and the woman I spoke with was polite. I did decide to pass on working with Big Helpers this time around, but was grateful they were kind towards me although I'm sure it must have been hard knowing I had previously given such a harsh review. Contemplated giving 3 stars since I have yet to experience their work, but giving 4 and holding the last star for when I finally do work with them.
