DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY. RUDE, EXTRA FEES, EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. UNCOMFORTABLE EXPERIENCE. The 1 star reviews are NOT an exaggeration and I have experienced very similar concerns that the other clients have faced.
I am not sure if the company care about these reviews, how clients feel, and try to improve their business because I see that these reviews are recent as 2019, 2018, 2017, to 2015.
This move was the first time I hired moving services and was so uncomfortable. When I booked the services, Margaret told me 3 guys for $290 for 2 hours minimum. Two movers came at 8:05AM, NOT three. Third guy came at 8:23am, late.
Background - Margaret mentioned to me that they do not disassemble IKEA furniture. I took that as is and understood it as how she stated, they do not disassemble but nothing about moving them aside from disassembling.
Back to the day of the move - Two guys cam and the main guy to communicate through is named OZZIE (WATCH OUT - HOSTILE, UNPROFESSIONAL). I asked Ozzie if they can move my bed which is from IKEA, not disassemble. Ozzie firmly said that they do not move IKEA furniture and I asked him if they were willing to try calmly. He was being very rude about his response, "We do not move IKEA furniture. If you disassemble them, we will move the pieces. THANK YOU." I understood that is their policy and said its okay and they do not have to move the bed.
Everything up until here is okay. I understand that they will not move OR disassemble anything IKEA. It sucks but we just have to go about the move. Here is where it gets VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. After that conversation, idk what got into this man Ozzie, he started acting ill mannered.
He was moving the boxes with attitude from there on. He then goes into my kitchen, grabs my paper towel and wipes his sweat and starts washing his face in my kitchen sink. I do not mind providing him with paper towel or him using the sink but I felt VERY uncomfortable when he did not ask, he did not say anything, he just goes into my kitchen without a word and proceeds in that manner. While he is doing that, his co-worker is looking at him and shaking his head as he is moving the boxes and I am a bit in shock in what is happening at that moment.
That happens and then as we proceed, Ozzie looks at my target 3x3 shelf that i've had for about 3-4 years, shakes it, and says "It's shaky. You get what you buy. This is IKEA furniture" right in front of me indirectly to his co-worker. His co-worker says nothing and proceeds to move my boxes. I told the co-worker "Thank you" and he says "you're welcome". I wish I was making this up but all of this is so shocking to me and I'm just feeling really uncomfortable the whole time. They took smoke breaks out by the truck which doesn't bother me too much but I have experienced that as well as I saw other clients talk about this on their reviews.
When we arrived to the place I am moving to, now we have 4 guys all of a sudden. I'm confused as to how it became from 3 to 4 men. They proceed to move the rest of the stuff and when it is time to pay, sign, finish up. Basically:
1. Ozzie put 4 men and charged $10 for the extra guy. I told him no, the service is 3 men for 2 hours $290. I had to explain to him that the 3rd guy was 20 min late and Ozzie was LIVID to change that when I told him that. He said he will change it and when I asked him to fix it on the receipt/paper, he said "You are driving me crazy".
2. The company did charge me for the extra fees and here are the EXTRA FEES - tape, wardrobe cotton, not having a tv box (which I was not informed of by Margaret), mattress cover.
3. This part is what infuriates me the most. My mother saw the extra fees and my mom commented saying "oh my god" to me and then he raised his voice at my mother "OH MY GOD WHAT OH MY GOD WHAT. DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON". I am speechless. speechless. I had to mention "Can you not be rude?". I had my mother with me and her first language is not English. We are talking in our native language about the extra fees, talking about the charges and he was absolutely pissed to hear us talking in a different language. He raised his voice and said "Can you talk in English please?" When me and my mother was talking to each other.
Overall conclusion Ozzie is very hostile and unprofessional. I am horrified by this and very soured through this experience. I will NEVER use this company again and I strongly would advice others to use other moving companies. This is my personal experience but infuriating and ABSOLUTELY OUTRAGEOUS. This review is not about the move or the extra fees. My mother and myself included should not be treated this way.
