I've got cancer and this is an amazing resource, especially when your wallet is tapped from copays and your energy level is low. I received my first of two sessions on 11/4! The gift consisted of one cleaner to stay for two hours. So it's very much a limited time but as a gift, this was a true blessing. She was able to get up all of the pet hair, which has been driving me crazy along with wiping down surfaces. She was young and sweet and a fast worker. I felt complete trust having her in my home. I had high hopes but unfortunately it was a big let down. I would recommend that you try them out first before signing up for a 6 month commitment. The first top to bottom cleaning was less than a surface cleaning. Baseboards, cobwebs, dusting were not done. The floors were not mopped, the countertops in the kitchen were not touched, ceiling fans were not dusted, there was dust and trash under beds. We were excited to book with BA Housecleaning because we had been referred to them from Facebook and the woman we spoke with sounded nice. However, it went downhill from there. They scheduled a Deluxe Top to Bottom for Initial cleaning and them biweekly cleanings after and after three cleaning I called it quits. The initial cleaning, they had four people and spent 3 hours. Overall it was okay, but not for a Deluxe Top to Bottom cleaning. They didn't do any baseboards, missed cobwebs, didn't wipe door frames, didn't wipe things down and said they wouldn't "touch things" even though it said they would wipe items down on the list they sent. There were quite a few things missed, so I reached out. They scheduled someone to come back out and do a few of the missed things, including the baseboards and it was a quick visit, but it seemed ok. The second visit, the woman was onsite for 3 hours and it seemed to be ok. The third cleaning they sent one woman who was there for less than two hours, and wiped everything with water- even the floors. When I emailed them asking if it would be normal to spend $172 for one woman less than two hours of work, and subpar work at that, they said she was still onsite (meaning she was claiming to still be there but she had left 30 minutes prior.) This was a huge red flag, so I started going through the list of everything she was supposed to do and everything that had yet to be completed. Out of the 3 1/2 cleanings, they never wiped any door frames or wall art as stated in the list, for the kids room we didn't expect much, but they basically only vacuumed. In fact my daughter's room had multiple cob webs, windows weren't wiped, etc. They didn't wipe down appliances, the sliding glass doors, etc. and the list goes on! When I reached out, sent photos, and explained my frustration the woman I had originally spoke with said they would schedule another Deluxe Top to Bottom cleaning in place of our next maintenance cleaning at no cost to us to make up for it. When I returned from vacation and said that was fine, she then said they weren't doing that, they would instead just add some extra time to our regular maintenance cleaning to do a few extra things that were missed. I expressed my frustration with this decision and change, and she escalated it to management who said they were sorry we weren't satisfied and they would cancel future cleanings. I definitely do not recommend this company for a few reasons: 1) clearly they're standards are subpar; to wipe a floor with water, leaving a spill uncleaned, is ridiculous 2) the cleaner leaving substantially early and claiming to still be onsite is extremely worrisome 3) for the agent to state one resolution and then go back on her word, is also extremely worrisome 4) and then for management to say "oops sorry you weren't satisfied" after I spent $700 for cleanings and not feel a makeup was necessary is absolutely ridiculous. Find someone who cares about making your life easier and getting it right, because clearly this company, its employees, and its management doesn't. I also find it interesting that the owner (commented below) has blamed clutter for home not being cleaned well, though the parts I mentioned (door frames and artwork specifically) aren't affected by clutter. We didnt expect them to clean or organize laundry, sports equipment, or any "clutter" but we did expect them to complete the tasks listed within the home. In fact, it should have been easier to complete the tasks mentioned if they skipped over some areas due to "clutter." read more

I would not recommend this company. I have used them for about a year, they charge between $100-66/hour, depending on whether the cleaner stays two or 3 hours. I was okay with this, I support people being fairly compensated, and I felt the rates gave the company plenty to pay their employees. But that seem not to be the case as they constantly demand extra in tips starting at 25%, In terms of quality, they do not do a lot of things my previous cleaner did, like easy to reach inside windows and glass doors, they dust but results are superficial, and sometimes they skip big things like the glass stovetop or refrigerator. In fairness I have not complained about these things, I just find time to do it myself. Final deal breaker for me was their one sided policies. I needed to pause service while some work was done on my house, and they wanted to charge me 3 times the normal rate to get started again, and I had to do back to back weeks, so I would have had to pay for 4 cleanings in a two week period while only getting two. read more

Switched to BA House Cleaning a few months ago for our Oakland condo after cycling through several other companies. The others spent a lot of effort recruiting us as a recurring client, only to do such a poor job actually cleaning. A common practice: not dusting bookcase and table surfaces not immediately visible and only vacuuming hard floors but not washing them. The cleaners came on time and are good people. Very sweet. It did take awhile to get communication and confirmation on the appointment. Once we finally got something confirmed, they do use a site where you can log in and book your appointments, so you can adjust at your convenience. I've used them awhile back and overall, I'm now not sure if the value is there for what we paid for. It was about $400 for a full deep cleaning. This is without a reoccuring monthly service. I believe you pay more if your house hasn't been professionally cleaned in awhile. They give a discount if you book reoccuring cleanings. We did pay more to get the inside of our fridge cleaned.
