Updated for their response: I was not an "occasional" client. I was a monthly client. I'm not sure if your system is incorrect again or if you're trying to minimize our interactions. Either way, the feedback below all still applies for either type of client. It sounds like you are ok with treating "occasional" clients poorly. Original post: They ask for instructions/information about your house on their intake form. But I was later told that the information I provided wasn't saved, and the teams are not reading this information anyway. I was told I would have the same team coming for each visit. Each visit I had a different team show up. Their green cleaning products don't work unfortunately. I've had multiple instances where the team left without finishing everything. I promptly notified the company when this happened. Lastly, trying to schedule with them is a headache. I've had to reach out multiple times. They seem disorganized and aren't always responsive to emails or calls. read more

Wouldn't work with them again. Double charged me for a service 2 months after the service was completed. I called to check on the charge and they acknowledged their mistake and said they could mail me a check..2 week later still no check in hand and no one could tell me if a check was even processed. Leaving this review a few months delayed. Lotus cleaners estimated my move-in clean to be $208.25 - $297.50. Lotus ended up charging $300. They failed to scrub the toilet and did not clean dust from the inside of cabinets, ceiling fan or wall adornments. This is despite the fact that I requested an estimate for a 750 sq foot space but ended up having only about 500 sq feet cleaned. I cannot recommend their move-in cleaning service. read more

One word: yikes. Here's what happened: I fill out the online intake form. We start emailing back and forth. I have a pretty specific list of needs that I send them in an organized document. Make it easy for them. They respond with what they do and don't do. All good - I'm aligned. We pick a date. Confirmation email comes. The date is wrong. Ok, no big deal. I tell them and they update it. But that was only a foreshadowing of what was to come... Day-of service, I log into my customer portal. None of my information is in there. Nobody copy and pasted a thing. It's empty. No details on my service. I'm starting to think "uh oh"... Cleaning ladies show up. They have no information. Nobody sent them anything or briefed them on what I needed. They don't even know the basics (how many rooms and bathrooms in the house, etc). You can tell because they showed up with a tiny tote of basic cleaning supplies. So now, as the customer, it's my job to brief them? Uh, ok. They're here, so I'll give that a shot. Unfortunately, I don't speak Spanish very well, and it's way to detailed of a list for me to try and make it work. So I call Lotus and ask what my options are. They don't know anything because their email system is down (shocking...). But they say that I can text them what I need done and they'll send it to the ladies. Uhhh...yeah, I'm not paying $500+ for this kinda shotty service. I talk to my wife and call back. Biddi answers. She was great, understanding, and said they'd cancel with no cancelation fee. If this was a review of Biddi, I'd give her 5 stars. Unfortunately, it's not, it's a review of Lotus. I email back the two other employees who originally reviewed my scope and scheduled me, just to explain what happened and make sure I'm not charged. And here's the icing on the cake: they reply with an email that explains how they did nothing wrong. I'm misunderstanding, they did everything right - it was the cleaning ladies fault! Oh boy... Lotus: your employees *are* part of you. Your company and your brand. Arguably the most important piece. To the customer, you are one unit. The fact that you created this divide between ownership and employee speaks volumes to how you operate your business and why this happened in the very first place... They cleaned my house once and did an ok job, not great but ok. Unfortunately they shifted my area rug so it's crooked. I'll have to get someone to come over and help me move the furniture to fix it. They cancelled the night before but then were able to send a replacement team. My real compliant is pricing. I have a small one-bedroom apt. They quoted me $119-149 which I agreed to. I tidy up before cleaners come, there are no kids or pets in my house, and I have a robotic vacuum, etc. When I got the final bill it was $243. I checked the fridge and inside the oven and they hadn't been cleaned so it wasn't a "deep clean". I asked them about the charges but they wouldn't budge. I wouldn't use them again. read more

We were recommended Lotus by a friend who regularly uses them. As we were looking for some more support during a busy time, I decided to start by scheduling a one off appointment and only if we were satisfied would we proceed with a recurring cadence. With requesting the service, my friend connected me to Lotus via email and this is how we handle all our communication with them. She had told me they were a nontoxic business but it was super important to me that only vegan and cruelty free cleaning products be used in my home. I asked them what products they used, was told primarily Betco, and i was able to confirm this met my needs. We also asked if they could use our vaccum instead of theirs and they complied. We were provided an estimate for our home based on the hourly East Bay rate on their website. Scheduling wise, we had a bit of back and forth on finding a day/time that worked for both of us to the point that I thought we might not be able to get them as quickly as we wanted, but I was pleasantly surprised and we were able to schedule an appointment for soon very quickly. Two cleaners (Wendy & Mayeli) came to our home and did a great job. We could see a visible difference in the bathroom and kitchen. I could see little details accounted for in the bedrooms as well. One small thing is that unfortunately, possibly because it was their first clean or maybe the apartment layout was different than they envisioned, the time did go over the estimate and we ended up paying more than we originally estimated. Once they reached the end of the originally estimated time, Lotus reached out to us to confirm it was okay to proceed and we agreed. Given the good work they did, we proceeded with setting up our recurring clean and will be trying them again a second time in a few weeks. I hope that more can be done in less time given the recurring the appointment and familiarity with our home, but this point aside, they did great work. I didn't have to explain much to them or ask them to go over more than a couple areas once more. One small note is that our bathtub didn't look sparkling white after but they said it's because the nontoxic products won't give that look which makes sense and is okay with us. The first payment is done via credit card with a $5 processing fee and after that, other payment methods are accepted for future visits. If you're considering a cleaning service, I highly recommend Lotus as I will continue to use them. read more

I was a little nervous to trust strangers in my home as I had never hired a housecleaner before but I had a great experience with Lotus. They have been very responsive in their communication and they arrived close to the scheduled time and began cleaning immediately. And they did an amazing job! I was able to set up in advance exactly what I wanted them to do and they did it beautifully and thoroughly. They cleaned under things I don't even clean under! They didn't miss a spot and I came home to a sparkling clean home. I also love that they use non toxic products as I try to use only organic food and products. I used this service and it left me with a flea infestation in my home a week later. The vacuum they brought into my home was old and looked improperly maintained and cleaned, and it left my carpet smelling like other people's feet after they vacuumed. I believe their vacuum was also infested with fleas, as I don't have pets and there's nothing else that happened in my home that week that could have led to fleas other than that cleaning. I contacted the business and they denied any reimbursement for extermination services. Also, the cleaners submerged my electronic kitchen scale in the sink, totally ruining it. I requested a deep cleaning with tile and grout scrub ($297 quote). Many areas were missed (corners, baseboards, mirrors, fridge, countertop, and the floors weren't cleaned well) and instead of putting the trash bag in the designated space, they left it on the sidewalk in front of my apartment building. So many items were left out of place (such as crooked art on walls) and a spray bottle was left at my home. I am very dismayed by the service and the lack of care and attention to detail. read more

My kitchen and bathroom grout and shower (glass door with hard water stains) was particularly hard to clean and they focused on those areas and did a very thorough job. General good customer service: My initial scheduled cleaning was cancelled last minute as the original cleaner got sick (unavoidable), but Lotus responded quickly to my email and sent someone else the next day (on Saturday despite their normal hours being Monday-Friday). We hired Lotus for a move out cleaning. We'd lived in our apartment for 15 years and once we removed all of our possessions, we could see it was in dire need of a deep cleaning. I'm so impressed with the work the team from Lotus did. The apartment was sparkling when they finished. A few things in particular stood out-- 1. Everything was included. Other quotes we received had oven, baseboards, etc as add-ons. With lotus it was everything all included in one very reasonable price. 2. The quality and ease of communication getting the quote and setting up the appointment was excellent. Everyone I emailed/spoke with was just super friendly and helpful, and they responded to questions right away. Overall a super positive experience. The team that cleaned my house were thorough and did an overall good job in cleaning all areas of my home, there were a few issues I'd like to address. 1. With the language barrier, it made it difficult to communicate basic tasks to the team such as asking them if they could do laundry of the bed sheets/bed spread. 2. While the team was very thorough in cleaning, they left my house very disorganized, and I ended up having to reorganize much of my things which was time consuming and unnecessary as a professional cleaning service should be able to clean and put things back to how they were found. I spent much of my time after the cleaning reorganizing my belongings as they were pushed around and not placed in their original spot. 3. The cleaning of the kitchen was very haphazard, and the team did not know how to properly load a dishwasher, leading to a misuse of the dishwasher load and I had to redo the dishwasher as many things had dirty dishwater in them due to being loaded incorrectly. This is not what I would expect from a professional service - basic understanding of loading/unloading a dishwasher, or hand washing dishes is imperative. They also placed many of my dishes in the wrong cabinets and instead of communicating with me and asking me where things should go, they made assumptions that left me looking for my kitchen tools or dishware in all the wrong places. 4. They did not understand how to operate my laundry machine and at one point, accidentally broke a piece of my laundry machine knob which I was able to fix with no issue. This is also a fairly standard practice with many professional cleaning services - clients should not have to dictate how many laundry pods to use, how to turn on the machine, etc. Overall, the cleanliness of my house was satisfactory, but the expensive price of cleaning compounded with the issues I experienced, leave me unsatisfied with the service. read more

I was disappointed by the service I got from Lotus. I requested biweekly cleaning and a consistent team, so that I wouldn't have to keep reminding them to clean my patio and other specific details like that. Yet it felt like there were different people coming every time. This might have worked, but the people were so focused on getting done quickly that they didn't pay as much care as needed. They broke several blinds in my bedroom, threw out my night guard and broke the lid of my trash can. The final straw was pricing.
