This practice is amazing!!! I have been going to this practice for treatment of post chemotherapy…read moreneuropathy for approximately two years. They have always treated me respectfully and with compassion. Specifically I would like to recognize the practice manager Kerry. She has gone above and beyond several times in my care. She made certain that I had medication refills when the doctor was unexpectedly out of the office, and even helped me get in with a specialist that is not in the practice because I was unable to get an appointment on my own. This office is always timely and I rarely have to wait (like so many other doctors offices) for my appointment.

They take the time to listen to my needs and they follow up with me to inquire as to whether or not my needs were met, and the answer is always yes! They text me reminders of my next scheduled appointments, which I really appreciate because life gets so hectic and sometimes I forget. The staff has checked in with me during business hours, after business hours and on the weekends! it makes me wonder when do they ever have personal times for themselves? If I could give them a 10 star rating, I would!!!!! Thank you to everyone on the office staff and thank you to the doctors, the counselors and psychiatrist. Keep up the great job as you all have made a positive difference in my life. It took a lot of time and patience to get me on the correct medications, but no one gave up on me! Sincerely, L Gregory, patient

I've always said that a waiter could spit in my food and I still wouldn't write a negative review…read moreabout it, as it's truly just not in my nature. Still, my experience with Legacy Recovery Center in Chandler was so painful that I feel obligated to share. I checked in to the Mesa facility seeking help with PTSD and dissociative episodes. During my intake, I was incredibly transparent about my symptoms and was reassured that the facility had the capacity to treat me. Due to my history, seeking residential treatment was the hardest step I ever had to take, but I was immediately greeted with overwhelming kindness and support, both from staff and peers. At the Mesa clinic, I met some of the most beautiful souls I have ever encountered. I experienced laughter for the first time in a long time, and for the first time in my life, I felt safe and knew I was going to get better. During my third day, I experienced an episode in which I sat in my room and didn't respond for an hour or so- the exact symptom that I was there to treat. It was terrifying, but the staff sat with me and told me I was safe, and my peers didn't make me feel embarrassed for not showing up to dinner that night. The next day, I was called into the office and told that, due to insurance reasons (this turned out to be a lie), I would be immediately transferred to the Chandler facility. I voiced that I wasn't at all comfortable with this for many reasons, many trauma-related, but regardless, an hour later I was taken to a facility I never agreed to go to. As I walked into the Chandler facility, I was stared at by all of the clients as someone called something out about the "new guy." The staff took me to a room and left me to fill out intake paperwork. I felt very unsafe in this facility, which triggered another one of the dissociative episodes I had been experiencing. I was lying down on the floor, shaking and covering my head, when the nurse walked in. She told me in a stern voice that I needed to get off the floor, and when I didn't, she huffed and walked out. They left me like that without checking back in for over an hour. No one told me I was going to be ok or that I was safe, just left me, even though I had very clearly informed them during my intake about my inability to talk or move during these episodes. Eventually, I came out of it and met with the therapist. I told her that I just didn't feel safe at the Chandler facility, and I needed to go back to Mesa, or I would have to go home. Even though I was very calm and articulate, I had to reiterate this over and over again, as the therapist just kept pushing me to stay. I was advocating for myself and articulating my feelings, and she just wouldn't listen. Finally, she gave in and brought me to the director, who came off as very cold. I told her the same thing: "I just don't feel safe here. I did not agree to come here, and I need to go back to Mesa." She told me that just wasn't an option for me but wouldn't elaborate on why. Throughout this experience, I received various explanations, but never a conclusive answer. So, I decided I had to leave. I was informed that, because I was choosing to leave, I had to get off the property immediately. I know the staff was just following policy, so of course I didn't push back at all, but it was just so dehumanizing. They finally gave me my cell phone, and it was only at ten percent, so I asked if I could charge it, but they said no. The techs were sweet, and I could tell they felt bad, but they took me and all of my stuff out to the side of the road and left me there. I hadn't eaten or drunk any water all day, and it was Arizona in August, so very hot. I just laid on the side of the road and cried. I had no idea where I was and no one to come and get me. Despite my extensive trauma history, I can easily say this was the worst day of my life. It took everything in me to seek help, and I truly don't think I will ever find the strength to try again after this experience. If you are looking for trauma treatment, I highly encourage you to look somewhere else.

I had some decent therapists. Until I decided to accept a therapist who was conservative. This woman not only told me to "pull myself up by my bootstraps" (I can get that kind of opinion out there in the real world). It does not help people, IMO. This same therapist also convinced me to participate in her group therapy. Well, it turns out, that the therapists were offered a $1,000 per month bonus from Bayless if they had so many billable hours. Boy, did I feel like a number in her $12,000 per year bonus. How do I know this? The therapist told us in the group therapy! She thought an awful lot of herself. How do I know this? She told us! Also, when I was designated SMI, Bayless dropped me. This Integrated Clinic does not accept SMI patients. Doesn't the whole idea of integrated care, include mental health?

TBI patients tend to downplay symptoms due to previous trauma. If you have a TBI history, or PTSD, amongst other issues, please do not hesitate to book an appointment with him - Mark can help you. With brain trauma, arriving to appointments prepared, retaining the information without an interpreter, and comprehending what they are trying to explain to me in live time is difficult. I struggle daily as to why my progress in the health field takes longer. His extensive medical experience in the trauma field and mental health background outshines providers who may be unfamiliar with TBIs. Although they may appear "invisible," the impact on a patient can go unnoticed. I feel Mark Williams deserves acknowledgment that treating a TBI patient takes hands-on experience and expertise, patience, and dedication which he holds. Thank you so much!:)
