We've had Roxanne groom 3 of our dogs over the last 7 years! She was able to handle our Yorkie mix that was not happy getting groomed. We temporarily switched to a different groomer because he was a friend but he wasn't able to handle this dog's temperment. We went back to Roxanne (happily) and she took great care of him until it was his time to go. Our current dogs are very timid. They're both Mexico rescues. Again, she can handle them and gives them so much love. They always leave prancing and proud to show off their new look. She is very accommodating and uses my preferred products. Over the past several years I've had Roxanne groom 3 dogs and my experience has always been great! Two of my dogs are poodles and require extra attention to the hair in their ears or they get ear infections. I've had other groomers I previously used tell me that they could not get my poodles' ears done, but Roxanne has the magic touch because each time their ears have been perfectly groomed. I called Roxanne for an appointment to get my small dog, Jeter, groomed. You see, we were ghosted by our previous groomer for reasons unknown(please see my review for Kaaly's Mobile Grooming here on Yelp). I had spoken to Roxanne before about an appointment but she was booked out for months! (In reality she is booked out for the entire YEAR!!) Back to my review--Roxanne showed up on time and took a reluctant Jeter into her grooming studio(aka van) and 1.5 hours later he emerged looking and smelling great! Jeter is a sweet friendly dog but he turns into Cujo when anyone tries to cut his nails! Roxanne was a professional and handled him great. Even though she's booked out for a year, she squeezed Jeter into her schedule for his next year of grooming. Roxanne's fees are not cheap but fair. And, she has a dog named Jeter too! WARNING: YOUR DOGS ARE IN DANGER We used Roxanne this past weekend to groom our two 4 year old dogs, as we have a newborn at home and needed some help. Within 24 hours, our dogs were so sore they could not move. When we would try to touch them, they would collapse to the ground and yelp in pain. We had to rush them to the vet. They were initially diagnosed with traumatic back injuries due to their severe pain and tenderness. We called Roxanne right away, and she absolved herself of all wrongdoing and refused to take any responsibility. Two days later we noticed a problem with their skin, so back to the vet we went. We were sent to a dermatologist at Veterinary Specialists in Sorrento Valley, where they were diagnosed with severely infected post-grooming furunculosis. I've attempted to contact Roxanne again through multiple means to let her know this is due to contaminated tools and poor grooming technique, as I do not want any other pets suffering like ours are. This is apparently very contagious. We have not heard back, even with the pictures attached sent to her. Instead of clean, happy dogs, we have two miserable, shaved, raw dogs. They have to be quarantined from our baby and on antibiotics for a minimum of 4 weeks, and we are out over $3,000 in vet bills and counting. Worse than the money, and the added stress in our household, our dogs are in agony and our heart breaks for them. We are so worried that someone else will send their dog here. Roxanne did such a beautiful job on our dog, Charley, who is an Aussie Shepard/Border Collie mix. He was bathed and groomed perfectly for his breed,size and fur type.
