We absolutely love Joni of Diamond in the Ruff. She has been grooming our mini Golden Doodle for almost 7 years now. Our dog is very anxious, but Joni still does an amazing job on him, twice a month. We recommended her to our neighbors and now 3 of them use her services as well. As a mobile groomer, she parks at our driveway and grooms our dog (from wash, blow dry, grooming, trim of nails, and anal expression if requested). Very convenient. My dog, Boo had such an amazing experience, getting groomed by Joni. Normally, after getting groomed, Boo is stressed, anxious and would run in circles and constantly lick her private parts. NOT THIS TIME! And the cost is comparable to other groomers, that aren't mobile. SO WORTH IT! She cut my dogs hair EXACTLY what I asked for and how I imagined! She was on time and quick! We have been looking for awhile to find a real good mobile groomer. We have had some good ones but none that stood out. Well that search is over as she was perfect. Communications to get a price as well as setup a time was done professionally and quickly. She arrived on time and went to work on our three girls after confirming what we wanted done as well as to get to know the three goldens. They came out looking better than any grooming and their winter coats were brushed out nicely and if you know golden retriever coats you know how hard that is to do. I think we have found the groomer we will be using from now. Mahalo nui loa for a job well We have now been using Joni for over a year....so great to have peace of mind with your furry kids being groomed....add in the great rates....great van and she has the best attitude and talent as well as cares as much if not more than you for your kids. I can't give any higher ratings because Joanie NEVER returned my call. She did answer when I contacted her even though at the time she was working on a pet. Understandably, she asked if I could text her my request and she would get back to me when she was finished. Of which I quickly replied as soon as we hung up. I guess I made the huge mistake of sending her a photo of my VERY long-hair VERY furry Sheltie. That was a week ago and STILL no return phone call from her. It looks like she doesn't want to put any effort in when it comes to long hair dogs! It appeared she only wants to work on short-hair pets for a quick in & out. I am aware the thick, long coat is more to handle and I'm willing to pay for the extra work/time it takes to do a good job. I'm 81 years (young) and it has become difficult for me to bathe her; although we do have "brushing" times regularly. If she doesn't want to put in the extras effort at least she COULD/SHOULD have better work ethnics and return my call as she stated she would. Says that they service Escondido but I had scheduled an appointment on 9/27/19 for 10/11/19 at noon only to be told an hour before the grooming appointment that I lived too far. I had notified the owner where I lived on 9/27/19 which provided them plenty of time to respond. This was by far the best experience we've ever had with our dogs involving ANY type of service related to taking care of them. Sometimes life can be a little overwhelming, especially when you have a newborn, and you and your spouse both work full time and don't share days off together. We have two small dogs that HAVE to be groomed (haircut, bath, nail trim etc..) and it's not exactly easy to round them up in the car, drive somewhere, and go through the whole process of waiting and going back to pick them up. All that hassle is a thing of the past!!! Call yo Diamond in the Ruff, they come to YOU! They call when they get there, you just walk your dogs outside, she takes it from there! An hour or so later my two dogs were pampered as if they spent the day at a canine spa! The haircuts were flawless, they smelled so good and were so soft! She even gave me a crash course in nail trimming and how often to do it. The pricing is also way cheaper than any place I've been to before. You cannot beat the ease of this experience. Like I said, life's tough, why not make just one thing easier for yourself. Call Diamond! We are regulars now and wouldn't prefer it any other way. I just got my Scottie and schnauzer cut for the first time by Joni of Diamond in the Ruff and they turned out beautiful! Joni is very personable and has an obvious love for dogs. They were cleaned from head to toe with a wonderful silky shampoo and the grooming was perfect. Joni takes the time to sit down with you and really discuss the cut you want. The mobile grooming station is a beautiful van that his outfitted with everything she needs and so convenient that she comes right to your front door. WARNING!! I had Joni out to groom my Malti-poo the first time and everything went great. She was friendly and did a great job. The second time I called her she took almost a week to respond to me. Once I finally got an appointment, I asked her if she would mind going in the house to get the dog and getting started because I was going to still be out picking up kids for a bit. She didn't have a problem with it. As I was coming home, there was Joni driving away from my house the same time she was supposed to be doing the grooming! When I texted her asking why she left, she didn't respond for a long time, then finally said "I couldn't catch her :-(". I told her I wished she would have CALLED ME, texted me or told me, I was less than a minute away from my house and could have grabbed the dog for her and got them started! NO RESPONSE! BAD communication! SO unprofessional to just ignore a client. BYE! And you can see by her comment below that she is missing the whole point. In any business you need to be able to communicate effectively to avoid any misunderstandings. She seems to have issues with several others in this area. The lying doesn't help either. What a great experience!! My family has two dogs. One small, fluffy, prim little girl, and one huge, rough and tumble boy. Joni and Diamond in the Ruff did a fantastic job with both our pets. Of course she's a great groomer who loves animals (and our dogs, love her too), but she's great about making sure she gets what we wanted for our pets. So many times we would try and tell other groomers what we wanted and they would nod their head and then do what they wanted instead. Joni was terrific in listening and doing a great job with our fur kids! Her grooming van is much cleaner, and nicer than most other groomers store fronts! Used her today for the first time with my 15 week old puppy. Called her on Tuesday and she was able to fit us in just two days later, even with thanksgiving being next week (a busy time for pet grooming). She came to my work (a major plus, as I didn't have to get him groomed on my own time) and met him, I could tell he was instantly comfortable with her. Cost was $65 which seems very fair, especially considering I never had to get in my car. The pup looks handsome, and even more importantly there was no change in his personality. Joanie Dalton (who owns Diamond in the Ruff) is knowledgeable, kind and gentle with my very very senior Lhasa-Poo. My fur boy is on the stubborn side but is very emotional too. He has been a challenge for other groomers in the past yet Joanie loves him and pampers him and I really think he loves her back. Joanie spends whatever time is necessary to do the groom right and she never skimps on her service or time. Since my fur boy is now both blind and deaf his groom time has become an important time for him to experience touch and his warm bath, etc. I handed him to Joanie the other day with caution thinking the groom might be too much for him, or too tiring or stressful (he can be stubborn and resistant with other groomers), as he seemed to be fading quickly in his old age. But Joanie did her magic and when she delivered him back to me he was a renewed little dog! His mood was better, his attention was better, his response to his fur siblings was better, and his energy was actually up! I think it was the sensations of the warm bath and Joanie's loving touch which brought him back to focus. The change was remarkable. I have spread the word to my neighbors and friends and they have all raved about Joanie too. My only concern now is that she will get too busy! LoL! (P.S. Joanie keeps her van/grooming salon superbly clean. I like and appreciate that a lot as that was not the case with other mobiles we used in the past.) read more
