I picked my friends up at their hotel downtown and we headed out to lunch. The original place we picked was not open because apparently they had some kind of a pissing contest with the city and they lost. Whatever. We were hungry and needed to find someplace fast. And nearby would be a bonus because I had already paid for two hours of parking. No one likes paying for parking and then driving off. That's unAmerican. So we found another place down the street and were on our way when we saw Shawarm Al Basha. The sign said it was Lebanese, and that sounded just as good as what we had originally picked (Mexican), so we went in. First, the place is immaculately clean. The three women behind the counter were all very nice. When we asked about the food, one of them went to the meat and sliced us off samples to try. That was enough for us. We ordered. Vickie had the chicken kabob and Peter and I both had lamb. Mary had a little lamb. It was really delicious. The kabob is kind of pita-like bread wrapped around the meat with tomatoes, onions, falafel, something from a camel (just kidding, making sure you're still paying attention) and other things. They show you the whole list and you can opt out of anything you don't like. I didn't opt out of anything. Pile it on, is my motto. It was a lot to eat at one time, but I persevered. I mean, I had two hours, how could I not. When we finished, we realized we needed baklava (I'm not entirely sure how to spell it). We had the choice of walnut or pistachio, and we chose the pistachio. Which means now I need to go back and try the walnut. How else will I know which is better? I don't get to Miami very often, but I will definitely go back to this place. The food was good, the service was excellent, the restroom was clean (it's a long drive and I had to go) and we had a great time. All-in-all, worth every one of their five stars.

This place is amazing, one of the top 10 best restaurants that I have ever eaten at. We started with the Baba Ghanouj which was out of this world, The garlic yogurt (I think) and pickled vegies made it that much more special. I had the lamb Shish Kabob and my friend had Chicken Kabab both with kabsa rice and we both loved it. The kabsa rice was so tasty and aromatic, loved the cardamon. The portions were very generous, enough that we had enough for dinner the next night. What topped the dinner was the fresh baklava, so many delicious varieties. We bought a lot to take home. The young man who waited on us was so friendly and accommodating, and had a wonderful smile. Service was impeccable and we had a few nice discussions of language and culture. Once again young man, welcome to America. We will now be regulars. What a gem!

I brought my service animal with me because I've been in a highly stressful time so he needs to be around me. He's like a warning dog so they told me I'd have to order my food to go. The prices they serve on the menu is not like to go type of place. so I said OK I'll take my business somewhere else and as soon as I did, the other place was very greedy. I really need to stop being so Arabic judgmental about dogs. They do know that these type of dogs are the ones that find our people through the rubble.

Nasif 03-14-2025…read more We recently hosted an engagement party for about 50 guests at Layali Miami, and it turned out to be a fantastic choice for a special celebration. The restaurant offers a beautiful atmosphere that blends elegance with a lively Middle Eastern vibe, making it perfect for a memorable event. From the moment we started planning, the staff was extremely accommodating and professional. They were responsive, flexible with the setup, and helped organize the seating so our group felt comfortable while still enjoying the energy of the restaurant. For a group of around 50 people, the space worked very well and still felt intimate rather than crowded. The food was one of the highlights of the evening. Guests loved the variety of authentic Middle Eastern dishes, especially the fresh mezze, flavorful grilled meats, and delicious desserts. The presentation was excellent and the portions were generous, which made sharing and enjoying the meal together easy for a large group. The ambiance added a lot to the celebration. The music, lighting, and décor created a festive mood that felt perfect for an engagement party. Many guests commented on how unique and fun the environment was compared to a typical restaurant event. Overall, Layali Miami provided great service, delicious food, and a vibrant atmosphere that made the engagement party truly special. If you're looking for a place in Miami that can comfortably host a group of around 50 people while offering a memorable dining experience, this is definitely a venue worth considering.

The first thing we noticed, which was a bit unexpected, was the decor. The ambiance was really nice and inviting. This is the type of restaurant where someone could host a party. The service was really good too. We received water almost immediately after being seated, and our server came by shortly after. The manager stopped by throughout our visit to provide recommendations, and he was really nice. It made the experience feel more personal. For our appetizer, we ordered the Baba Ghannouj, which complemented the pita bread really well. It was our first time having it, and we did not know what to expect, but it was great. It was really flavorful, and we finished it wanting more. For our entrees, we had the Lamb Chops and the Seafood Tagine. The lamb chops were great. It was not a huge portion, but the meat was flavorful and cooked well. The presentation was also really nice. The Seafood Tagine looked great, and the sauce was incredibly flavorful. Everything about the dish worked well together, and we felt that all the flavors complemented one another. There was a good harmony between the ingredients. For dessert, we ordered the Kunafa, which was another first for us. We had never had it before, but the description really sold us on it. It was really good. This is the kind of dessert that is best shared since it is a little heavy. Toward the end of our visit, a belly dancer came out to perform, and it was really exciting. La Vie is a great restaurant, and we will definitely return. We felt as though we got a true Mediterranean experience during our visit.

I have noticed this one on Yelp, but because it is not near my home, I have not taken the opportunity to visit. Talk about a beautiful restaurant that is both welcoming and consistent with the theme of its food and add to that excellent service and the best kebabs and falafel.
