I'm so glad I looked at Yelp reviews for restaurants in Terre Haute…read more This one is a little on the outskirts. The parking is right beside the building, which is nice. The building is absolutely stunning. From the mural along the side with some Indiana favorites to the very tasteful woodwork inside. All four of us thought our food was really good. How often does that happen? The newest menu item was the Salisbury steak. Might be the best I've ever had. There is a little kick to it. Nothing that little water doesn't take care of. haha when I mentioned the cake to the waitress, she said it's probably the goat cheese and the mashed potatoes. I never knew a goat cheese being spiced. But, hey, I really enjoyed it! If I lived in this area, I would frequent it a lot.

I expected it to taste just like candy but it was surprisingly light. For dinner I ordered the chicken parmesan . It came with large pieces of breaded chicken. It also had a very large portion of spaghetti. Everything was cooked well and the marinara sauce had wonderful flavor. I am always impressed by the large portions. I also think the prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get. This is definitely my favorite restaurant to visit when I am in Terre Haute.

The restaurant is very neat - a lot of time an effort and creativity went into making this a unique experience. We can't wait to come back in the evening to visit the bar, because it looked really neat! Our service was great- the man at the counter was very friendly. He will even let you try samples before ordering. And our entire order was extremely affordable. I really couldn't believe how much so. The food was good, not great. It had authentic flavors, just not enough of them. But really for the price and as a quick lunch, we were satisfied. My husband was disappointed at how much cheese they put on the Jambalaya, but he just scooped it off. The gumbo would have been much better with higher quality sausage. The garlic bread was excellent and you must try the supplied local hot sauces!

I asked how their brown rice was prepared, fully expecting it to be boiled in some sort of simmer of seasonings, or at least jambalaya rice. mind you the food is covered hence why i asked, but once she uncovered it i saw it was just plain brown rice. the blonde guy got a hoot out of that, and me asking about any speciality drinks. absolutely no customer service skills from that guy. food was fine it's cheap.

Our son comes here often after he goes to Church on Sundays for a hearty, delicious breakfast. We come here when we visit him for the exact same reason- plus the fact that the service is legit. If you're reading this, you're probably in or near TH. It's on Wabash Ave and there are no shortage of places to eat. Coffee Cup has one of the best breakfasts in town (see my reviews for the other one I love)- and it's affordable, filling, and most of all delicious. We always worry our son is eating right in college, but those fears are assuaged when we take him here. Love this place- if you have a kid at ISU or RHIT- it's a winner. If you are a TH resident- lucky you- another great place in your wonderful town.

When asked at the end by the owner how everything was I let him know it was less than impressive. I said the sauce was gross. His response was " like you". Why ask my opinion then attack me? Then an overweight too-much-make-up-wearing server had the audacity to say "you ate one plate of spaghetti". Yes mam, my 4 year old ate the plate. When we left she said it was the nastiest spaghetti she's ever had. I asked twice for a water that never came also during my visit. All in all, I'd NEVER return. My issue was treated like I was looking for a discount and couldn't just be a conversation about how gross the food was. What terrible customer service.
