Had another wonderful meal and cocktail at The Terminal Public House. I ordered the cotton candy martini. The drink was a gorgeous blue. I was very surprised it wasn't overly sweet. I expected it to taste just like candy but it was surprisingly light. For dinner I ordered the chicken parmesan . It came with large pieces of breaded chicken. It also had a very large portion of spaghetti. Everything was cooked well and the marinara sauce had wonderful flavor. I am always impressed by the large portions. I also think the prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get. This is definitely my favorite restaurant to visit when I am in Terre Haute. read more

Used Yelp search to find a restaurant as we passing thru Terre Haute(on I70) and found The Terminal Public House. Looked at several of the reviews and knew it was a place to visit. The building itself is over a 100 years old and is on the National Register of Historic Places, this helps its cool vibe. We came in at 12:30 on a December Thursday, it was absolutely packed, what appeared to be multiple team/holiday gatherings. We were told a 20 minute wait, but we eventually were able to find a seat at the bar in less time. With as busy as it was, I was concerned food coming out may be impacted, but it came out quick. Allie was our bar tender, she was very friendly and attentive, shout out to her. First I started with a local beer, wango tango. I would call it a hazy pale ale. It was perfect for me. Had grilled shishito peppers. It was my first time to ever eat one, I loved them. I enjoyed them better without the sauce, but the wasabi Mayo did provide a nice kick. I ate the fried wontons with the sauce. We shared the crab Rangoon flatbread. It did not disappoint, and had a healthy serving size. I would get it again and again! Then I went with a comfort food, fried bologna sandwich. It came with a side, but the sandwhich alone was enough. I added a close pic of the sandwich, it had two thick cut pieces of meat. Impressive. It came with melted cheese, that was a twist for me, but I wanted to try it the way it was on the menu first. I eventually added ketchup, lol. We now have a new place to stop as we're passing by on 70. If I lived closer, i definitely would be a regular!!! read more

We made our very 1st visit to The Terminal Public House on a warm Tuesday afternoon for lunch! This place is wonderful, the building is chocked full of old character with a modern feel. The comfort of this old building is unmatched! We sat at the bar top, as usual. I believe we were promptly greeted by Rachel, served an ice cold beer, and given a run down of the menu favorites! The house made pastrami on rye was delicious and a very size able sandwich. The poutine was also a very flavorful and a huge portion as well! This is a hidden gem that we found while in Terre Haute for the day. It's an old railroad station. The service is friendly, and prompt. The food is delicious I had the Cuban sandwich and onion rings. My other half ordered the Chicken Alfredo it comes with a piece of garlic bread. He loved the dish. Outside the building they did a beautiful mural of the city people and owners of the restaurant. I went in as part of a group, I think there were 11 of us. They put us in our own little room so it was fairly quiet in there and that was pretty awesome! Our server was great she took our drink orders and then came back a little bit later and took our food order. I really enjoyed the cocktail I had, it had coffee liqueur and Baileys and cream and a few other things and it was delicious. I also really enjoyed my lunch I had the glazed salmon with rice and veggies. I would certainly order this meal again. Food is always good, consistent, and service is great. Anytime I am in Terre Haute this is my first choice for dinner.

My mother worked at The Terminal back in the day, so it's been a joy to see this place revitalized and bringing such great food to downtown Terre Haute. And let me tell you--it really is good food. The shrimp tacos, which were on special, absolutely hit the spot, and my husband couldn't get enough of his fancy grilled cheese. Service was top-notch, and the restaurant itself is beautifully curated, with a vibe that's both warm and stylish. I was in town for work and decided to actually have lunch, I walked over to the terminal and was seated right away! The service is very friendly and attentive! Also the building is cool and historical, but also "trendy" in its own right, and I'm a sucker for exposed brick! My tenderloin sandwich with waffle fries were savory and delicious! Love the personal parking right next to the restaurant. Lots of great murals as well. The building itself is pretty unique. There are plenty of indoor seating, both with tables and bar seating available. It can get a bit crowded, but there's a small waiting area right by the door with a few seating available. The staff is nice and attentive. Food came out at a pretty decent time. The Tuna Poke Nachos was a pretty good size. I assumed the Poke would be raw, but it was more seared than not. Definitely would I preferred it a bit more on the raw size than overcooked, which I kind of felt it was. The kids meal is a pretty decent portion as well. I like how they had vegetables as an option. A little disappointed it didn't come with a drink though. I would highly recommend the Filet Sliders. It's one of the best sliders I've ever had since the meat was actually a whole slice of meat instead of grounded. It was perfectly medium rare, just how I like it. We could have done without the Crawford Street wings though. It was a bit dried imo. The seasoning didn't wow me, just a bit salty. Was in from out of town and got to catch up with my favorite ISU professor over lunch. I'm not usually a salad person, but the Strawberry Harvest salad completely won me over. First of all, I love a place with history, and I REALLY love a local business. Unfortunately, despite all the hype, I was not impressed with the Terminal Public House. Don't get me wrong, the servers and hostesses were great. Loved them. Truly fantastic with their service. However, the runner irritated me immensely. When he brought things to the table, he would not take anything away. I understand it may not have been his job, but if you are sitting down a drink next to a stack of dirty dishes common sense dictates that you would clear those away anyway. Also, he kept passing my food to me over the person next to me instead of taking 2 steps to hand it to me from behind her, which I thought that was very rude. Here she is trying to enjoy her food and drink, and he is interrupting that experience out of pure laziness or lack of awareness. The menu was limited, which is fine, but it was not anything to be excited about. To be honest, I could have made the same thing at home, and it would have had more flavor. Maybe I should have gotten something different, but one of the women I was with said it was her new favorite. Also, the proportions were ridiculous. I could literally eat off my meal for three days straight, but I guess some people are into that kind of thing. If the food was amazing, I probably wouldn't mind either but alas. The thing that REALLY bugged me though was the atmosphere. For it being a historical building there was hardly a nod to its history, and the decor felt soulless. I could tell that they were trying to be upscale, but even an upscale restaurant needs to have the cozy factor. Instead, it felt cold and run of the mill. Nicely done American menu in an elevated bar/restaurant setting. We didn't mind a 45-min. wait on a busy evening, would love to see a waiting lounge added to the stage right of entrance, many people quoted a wait turned heel and having more of an area to wait could be good. Day one of any floor manager's first decision should be to retire the several worn down menus (pictured), seriously. We couldn't even read a few of the dishes, and that's more befitting of a Dirty Spoon restaurant. My son got the burger and loved it, top notch. My GOAT pizza could definitely have had more goat cheese & arugula, it was tasty but skimped on the toppings. Still a good stop for a drink, dinner, high marks for the Terminal. read more

We came from Illinois to go to the casino for the night. We stopped in to have some drinks and dinner before gambling and we had an awesome time! I am blanking on our waitresses name but she has a second job as a teacher and she was so funny! Spot on with recommendations. I am really not sure you can go wrong with what you order here though. There were 6 of us in my group, no one was disappointed with drinks or food. Everyone was rather impressed. Ambiance also top notch, speakeasy vibes. It felt very clean and classy. So we were out and about looking for someplace different. We stumbled onto or into this joint. We arrived after the pre game rush for ISU. We were met by a guy bussing tables. He was nice and welcomed us in (found out later he owns the joint). The bar and the options. Everything in this joint is gorgeous. Nothing follows. Just gorgeous. They had a good variety of all alcoholic beverages and probably a rotating beer selection. The girls behind the bar were amazing. The menu was great. I feel if there were anymore choices it could appear too busy. Of all the fantastic options, and it being lunch, I chose coney dogs and T simply couldn't pass up a bologna sandwich. After reading the reviews I think I had high expectations. My drink was yummy a huckleberry gin minus the syrup. However my southwest chicken salad was poor quality, wilted lettuce and an avocado that needed to be thrown away. Ok... The Ghost pepper wings (they are hot but don't ruin your day) and goat cheese mashed potatoes are fabulous! They make a spot on dry martini, and the bartender, Jess is so kind and on the ball.
