I contacted Eva because I was desperate to help my baby gain weight and I needed support with bottle refusal. Eva met with us and gave me some helpful tips to help my baby eat more, she also suggested I have my baby evaluated for a tongue tie. Fast forward two weeks, my baby had surgery on her tongue tie and lip ties, she is gaining weight, and she now is drinking from a Lansinoh bottle for the past three days! Eva gave me referrals for extra support with a pediatric speech therapist and the places where I could have my baby evaluated for a tongue tie. I couldn't recommend Eva enough! I saw Eva after seeing another lactation consultant and having a very difficult time with breastfeeding. My son had a lip tie, tongue tie, and cheek ties. We got them fixed and tried just about everything. I was pumping, bottle feeding, supplementing with formula, and still trying to nurse. I was so frustrated and didn't know what else to do. Best lactation consultant! I was referred to Eva by my pediatrician, Dr. Ball, when he was concerned about my baby's weight. Fresh out of hospital in April 2018, my baby lost 17% of his birth weight. I did everything a new mom was suppose to do to bring milk in - breastfeed, supplement with formula and then pump. Despite doing these things, my baby was wailing from hunger. It was a hard week. Eva was very accommodating and was able to see me right away, which I was so thankful for as a mom concerned for her baby. And she made herself available to me via texts even before our initial consultation. I was nervous about meeting with her because I didn't know how she could help, but I knew I made the right choice when I instantly felt comfortable with her. She observed me breastfeed my baby and asked what I was doing at home. My feed, supplement, and pump routine was over an hour long and was making me miserable. She kindly told me that that routine will get taxiing and to cut my pump time in half and gave me suggestions on how to most effectively pump. I found so much relief and weight off my shoulder when she told me that I could save some time. Upon examining my baby, she suspected my baby was tongue tied and gave me recommendations to couple specialist in town. Up until this point, numerous doctors or many nurses we saw never even mentioned anything about tongue tie to me. Eva suspected that it could be the reason why my milk hasn't come in yet. And wouldn't you know it, the specialist told me that my baby had pretty bad tongue tie and was a good thing I brought him in within the first couple weeks of birth!! If it wasn't for Eva, I would have never known about that and would have struggled nursing and baby would have had speech issues down the line. So thankful for her!!! And as she predicted, my milk came in soon after he got his tongue untied. Awesome! Eva was recommended to me by my pediatrician a few months ago when I was having issues with a fussy baby. One night I was having an emergency with a clogged duct. That I could absolutely not dislodge. It was a holiday, and late in the evening, but I was stuck with a very hard and painful breast, and I was freaking out. So I'll start by saying this is my first Yelp review and it is well worth it. Eva is fantastic! I was introduced to her by my midwife (who I trust beyond words), and was immediately put to ease by Eva's calm nature and easygoing personality. As a little back story to my situation, I had been using a nipple shield since my son was born and after a month of struggling with breastfeeding, I reached out to Eva. Not only was I struggling with the shield, but I would nurse for 3-4 hours straight at times while also pumping to supplement. It wasn't until I got mastitis that I realized I needed to seek help. After only 5 minutes of meeting with us, Eva noticed his lip-tie and explained that because of that, and the nipple shield, he wasn't getting enough milk. She went on to explain that the lip-tie removal was a simple process and referred me to a great dentist. After that appointment, I walked away feeling as if the clouds had opened up and there was finally a ray of sunshine on my situation. After the lip-tie removal process, I reached out to Eva again for a follow-up appointment. She was happy to meet with me and during our appointment, she assured me that his lip looked great and that he was now latching and getting a good amount of milk during each feeding. Eva also gave me comfort in knowing that as long as I was patient and persistent, I could wean my son off of the nipple shield. I can now proudly say that at 12.5 weeks old, we are nipple shield FREE! It's been about a week without it, and I am a happy, happy mommy. Where do I begin... I am a new mom to a 5 week old today and upon leaving the hospital my baby girl had lost a full pound. When I got home we met with the pediatrician who recommended that we supplement right away and gave me Eva's contact information. I immediately called Eva, left her a voicemail, and a text (being the crazy new mom I was). Eva replied immediately even though she was vacationing with her family. We scheduled an appointment when she returned for an in home consult and she was so helpful in making my anxiety go away about how normal it was for a newborn to lose weight when coming home and she also gave me some hints to help my baby girl get enough from breastfeeding. All of her pointers worked and we were on our way to exclusively breastfeeding until we hit a roadblock the very next week and Eva called it. I had been getting excruciating pain in my breasts and nipples that lasted all day for days. To the point where I didn't want to breastfeed and had anxiety every three me I put my baby girl on my boob. Eva mentioned that I should get it looked at and the baby should as well because it could be thrush. May I mention this also happened on a weekend where Eva was so responsive and even made it a point to continue checking in on me. I called my doctor immediately. Eva also recommended we schedule an appointment with the pediatrician on Monday as well. She was correct! It was thrush and Maddie had it as well. We both went on antibiotics and to this day I am so grateful for Eva because without her I don't know what would have happened and where I would be today.
