As a teacher myself, I appreciate the emphasis they put on education, as he has learned more than I could have ever imagined. The entire staff is constantly going above and beyond each and every week to make learning a BLAST. It is super apparent that creating a fun learning environment is a high priority. A few other things to note is their top notch communication efforts. We are always in the know about every thing! As well as the diversity, which can be hard to find in this area. I love that my son gets to celebrate our traditions while also learning about cultures different than his. Lastly, my son is HIGH ENERGY and can be a lot at times. The entire staff at Goddard has never once made us feel like he is a burden, in fact quite the opposite. They have always welcomed his energy with open arms and big smiles, which is huge for me! I was required to…read morepay a deposit fee plus an entire month's tuition up front to secure my spot ($1700 total). 24 hours later I received a message from the school I was on a waitlist for that a 5 day spot was now available, which is what we really needed. I explained to Goddard management that the other school was 5 min from my house, less expensive, and most importantly had a 5 day spot available. I asked if I could at least get some of my money back given the circumstances. They refused to give me back ANY of the $1700 deposit despite the fact that they only had it for less than 48 business hours. My child never even visited the school. They claimed that I could have taken a spot from someone else. I paid them Thursday afternoon and informed them Monday morning about my change of plans. If someone visited Friday who wanted that spot, am I really supposed to believe they couldn't have contacted them immediately on Monday to let them know about an opening? I reached out again and was told they never filled the spot. So if you couldn't fill that spot anyway, why couldn't I get even half of my money back? It's not like we took someone else's spot (according to them anyway). The school we ended up joining didn't require any deposit to secure my spot, and the owner purposely enrolls less students than the GA requirement to provide a better and more nurturing environment. My son has about 13 kids in his class vs. the 20+ children in the Goddard class. It's clear that the owner is all about money and posting on social media. I am so happy we found a better place for my child.

I have two that have dyslexia that came in remediated, but they do have a remediation program. There is academic support. Those teachers are amazing and push into the classroom in elementary school. the teachers are supportive, communicative, and available accessible and connected with our kids. My kids are involved in sports music, dance, arts , theater. There are a lot of opportunities to be outward facing service projects, mission trips. While I appreciate that, my kids are taught the Bible and a relationship with Jesus and the teachers reflect that my kids also have a diverse group of friends that come from different religious backgrounds, economic, backgrounds, and political backgrounds, which aren't emphasized, but there is a variety of demographic. My son instance has friends that are Hindi, Punjabi, agnostic. My kids are taught not just about Christian world views, but different religious world views, different scientific views like evolution in biology (which someone for some reason said they aren't taught) and they're taught from a scientific standpoint not trying to dispute the scientific theory. As rhe get older, they have opportunities to question, debate, express their opinions in different classes and that's encouraged because they don't want the kids to be programmed robots. As I stated earlier, their families of different economic backgrounds, but that is not something that is known or something that at least for my kids they don't care if they have a lot of money or don't have a lot of money. It's just not important in the grand scheme of things. They have a diverse group of friends and I find that a lot of my friends kids find their niche. They find their people because there's so much variety and diversity. Well, they do a annual fun fundraiser. You could donate a dollar and still participate with zero judgment or not at all. There is a level of understanding from learning disabilities to economic to religious backgrounds that is accepted without judgment. Of course there's gonna be jerk kids at every school, but that's the minority and not the majority.

We were in town to attend their fall festival when we noticed that this store was open very early! Score! We wondered in and browsed their vast selection of wares: sweaters, southern inspired tees, collegiate spirit wear and related items, Christian greeting cards, kitchen accessories, general clothing options, bags, an infant room that was stocked with baby clothing and related items and of course jewelry. There was so much to see that you would need a generous amount of time to explore it all. We had a specific schedule so we were not able to stay as long as we would have liked. We actually got caught up in the jewelry section where they had the "ever so popular" memory bracelets which can be personalized as you get to select the pop-in pieces to finish the item of your choice. You may choose from bracelets, lockets or earrings and everything happened to be on sale today so the prices were great. They had a VAST selection of the "pop in" pieces so my husband and I spent a significant amount of time (with owner assistance), digging through the bins to find the right pieces, (we needed five snap buttons to complete our toggle and clasp bracelet). To personalize my daughter's bracelet, I chose the following buttons: UGA, family, little sister, MRS, the initial J and "I love mom". They also had neutral pieces that are just "pretty or sparkly" so you don't necessary have to have a specific message on your button. I knew that she would love the bracelet because she really appreciates jewelry that has meaning and she usually just shops my cabinet but now she has something that was purchased specifically for her. With the bracelets, you have the option of purchasing them with an elastic band or a toggle clasp. The clasp is going to be more durable and it is adjustable so consider this when purchasing. This is the 2nd time I received this kind of service at this location. I made a purchase at the location in October and had to ask for help after standing in the shoe dept. meanwhile other customer were spoken to and I was overlooked. Once the salesperson brought back the shoe in a hurry she tried to rush me out the store and I told her that I was continuing to look. Finally after carrying the shoes and doing a balancing act of sorting through the racks...another salesperson acknowledged me and asked if she could put the shoes at the register. On Saturday, 11/16/24 to be quite honest even if you had the item I was looking for there is no way I would have spent money there. I will say that I've always received excellent customer service at the Surrey Center location. I'm not sure if I received this sort of service at the Martinez location due to the color of my skin. I have mentioned this to many family members, friends and coworkers. As I left the store on 11/16/24, I felt so upset (honestly, I could have cried right there in the store) but instead I left. I wouldn't want anyone else to receive the same treatment I received.
