I have been a part of this family for four years, and I say family because every time I walk in the door, I'm greeted with a hug from Scarlet, a warm welcome from Tina, a smile from Dalila and Cheila, and I know that I am in a safe space. The energy in this salon is unmatched. Scarlet has done my nails for the majority of the four years and there is NEVER a dull moment. Not only is she hilarious and entertaining, but she is also the best at what she does. She has an arsenal of equipment, every color and special style you could want, from cat eye to chrome and gold flakes to gems. I have never asked for a style that she couldn't replicate even better. I also went to Tina for a few months and can attest to both her skills and ability to connect with others. She is so sweet and makes you feel so important and cared for. This is the worst nail salon w the rudest owner. The employees are nice but the owner is awful. He constantly said I don't want to be here and I don't want to stay late. As he's removing my nail, he asks, what the f^^^ is this on your nails? Super rude. Tells me he's not finishing my nails and leaves. I then have to ask one of the girls 'who's going to finish' and it was the person from the original booking. The reservation was for 7 and the booking tech saw me at 7:40. Been going to baby nail bar on and off for about 2 years. This is my third and final chance I gave them. First experience was ok but nail tech messed up my nail shape. Second time, walked in at 6:30pm left around 9pm nail tech was in training and messed up my nail shape again. Not to mention the dip polish didn't last. Maybe due to the fact because she didn't know how to apply dip and they assigned her to do my nails. Last visit I wanted a design. The staff is super sweet. The first time I went my design came out poorly and they were lumpy. I decided to give them another chance because of convenience. If you are not a perfectionist, they may be the place for you. I expressed multiple times I don't want the acrylics thick, as I like them to look thin like a natural nail. I went today to do my nails.. just no.. the woman that was doing my feet was very nice but she took an HOUR AND A HALF! Never in my damn life has it taken that long and she cut me not once but FOUR times like come on now. She was nice but I would never go back. It was my first time. You would think it would get better when they did my hands but hell no. The guy that came to do my hands didn't even bother to ask me what I was going to do. I came here to get my eyebrows waxed and I left with them looking hardly touched but I have the burns to prove it!! I'll never come here again, I asked the lady who was doing my eyebrows to make them thinner three times. By the third ask, I was in so much pain that I told her it was okay and just paid and left. I've been here a few times due to its proximity to FIU. It's a little on the pricey side if you want to do designs. if you get one of the good techs, you get what you pay for. They do a really good job and have good attention to detail. However, it can be hit or miss sometimes. I've learned to do my nails myself to save money but like to splurge for my birthday. I ended up doing an acrylic set with a yellow French tip. The back started lifting within two days of me getting them done and just looked dirty (see picture). The French tip was not very neat and overall, I just wasn't very happy with my nails. I will say, all the techs I've met have been very nice and the place is always clean. read more

This is my update, and after writing my first review one of the managers contacted me and agreed to fix my nails with no additional cost. I was assisted by Yusimi, she is WONDERFUL!!! She removed all the excess cuticles that were not removed from the previous tech. She made sure to put three coats to make sure the polish looked smooth and perfect. I spoke to the manager who contacted me, she was very sweet and professional. I am giving the four stars for the quick response and action they took to make everything right, but especially for the amazing service I received from Yusimi . Thank you!!! read more

Came here due to a recent move from Kendall to Downtown and my old tech relocated to Ocala. Was in the Sweetwater area visiting a friend and she told me about the place to have my nails done. I called in advance for pricing for a dip manicure and regular pedicure and was quoted $68 and was scheduled with Chloe. Upon check out I was charged $73 and when I asked why I had to pay more than was quoted the man at the front, presumably the manager or owner, had Chloe explain. She stated she charged $5 additionally to cut and shape my nails. I came with almond shaped nails already and didn't ask for a different shape, and when I pointed that fact out she just kept repeating herself. I've been doing my nails for 20 years and have never been charged for doing something that has always been included in the job in and of itself. Nor did I have the shape changed. The manager was dismissive and lacked accountability. The tech had an attitude and was argumentative. Dip usually lasts 3-4 weeks and they didn't even last two weeks. I had to go elsewhere to have 4 nails repaired. Terrible place of business and do not recommend. read more

I got my nails done yesterday with John. unfortunately they ended up not looking the way I had wanted or how I originally described. The chrome he thought would look like the picture I brought in didn't match. He offered to take the gel and chrome off right then but I was in a hurry and need something to be done quickly! In a hurry we tried a lighter color of chrome but by then it was too far from what I originally had shown him... and was now thick. Knowing I had to be somewhere John told me to come back tomorrow and he'd fix it no charge. Also, to my surprise... when I went to pay I realized he didn't even charge me the extra $15 it cost for the chrome. When I showed up today he was happy to see me and like he had said my nails were free of charge! My nails turned out amazing and B.A.B.Y. has a new customer!! I'll be driving here from midtown area from now on. Johns INTEGRITY and SERVICE to his customers is very rare especially in the nail business. This is the first time I ever write a bad review about my nails. I know it takes time and work but my nails look horrible. I was a walk in, first time doing my nails there since my nail lady is out of town. Sam did my nails. He painted basically my finger then with a brush he tried to clean up the red color. He took an hour and more than 15 min just to do my gel mani. Thank god I didn't agree to gum doing my feet. He was nice but a total mess. I left him tip because I felt bad but horrible. He also cut one nail so short that I had to move my hand because he was going to cut my skin instead. I took very long and a horrible job all for $30 just the gel mani. It was a Saturday afternoon and I had 2.5 hours before I had to head to work so I looked up places near me and found this place. Reviews weren't bad so I called ahead to ask for the wait time. They said there wasn't a wait time so it was perfect. First impression of the place feels very "sweat shop". It's great they have a lot of chairs and people working on a busy day, but it just looked messy. They sat me down immediately, but it took the lady taking care of me 15 minutes to come out from the back. I had gel polish on and they after soaking them for a bit the lady said it was hard to get off. She used the electric file to get them off and one nail started to burn. I looked at it and the growth of my nail had been filed paper thin (which I had to tear off) and she filed it so much you could see the Pink through my nail. The slope on my nail was so bad, it looked like a black diamond ski slope and it was tender on top of that. I have never seen anyone accomplish this; it was BAD. She was very apologetic, but this shouldn't happen. When she went to remove my cuticles.. she didn't do anything. She was literally wasting my time. I hadn't had a manicure in almost 3 weeks, there should have been cuticles galore coming off these babies! She clippers were clean from start to finish. I would have preferred to skip that part than waste my time. After being there almost two hours .... she was finally done. Gel manicure costs $30, which I find over priced for a place like this. I have never seen a casual place charge more that $25 - common for upscale places, but not here. DEFINITELY won't be returning! read more

Terrible job. This was my first time coming here(since my nail tech was out of town) and based on the reviews I was hesitant to go to them, but I went anyways. I specifically requested Tony to do my nails but the girl at the front sat me with John. Cutting to the chase, John did not do a good job. He left gaps on most of my nails from where the nail begins, and on the blue and orange nail there's fuzz/hair stuck on them. There are also black dots (not sure why). Services are overpriced. This place is terrible. They charge for every little thing. I walked in with acrylic nails and needed a refill. -They did not have the same natural pink color acrylic so I had to get clear. They wanted to charge me more for a pink color that wasn't even the same. -My nails were pointy and they wanted to charge me $5 to file down just the tip to make them coffin style. I ended up filing them myself in the middle of the salon. -I wanted to get thanksgiving style nail polish that included 4 colors. They wanted to charge me $3 per extra color over 2 colors. -when they went to search for the colors, they didn't have any of them. -I couldn't even get my pedicure done cause they didn't have the colors. -I ended up leaving without a pedicure and without nail polish on my hands. To top it off, the charged me extra because they removed my original nail polish! My hands are bare with no nail polish! I'm gonna have to go somewhere else to finish them and get my pedi. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE MONEY AND TIME!!!! LAZY TERRIBLE JOB!!! This in addition to my pedicure was $50 with out tip. Worst experience of my life. I usually am very open minded when it comes to trying new places but it is safe to say that after this horrific experience I will never be open to trying new salons. At the beginning I was delighted because I walked in without an appointment and I didn't even have to wait 2 minutes before I was sat in a pedicure chair. But soon enough I became very uncomfortable with my experience and couldn't wait to leave and never return again. Shortly after the manicurist began working on my feet another employee came and began doing my hands in the same exact spot. At first I was glad because I was like wow I will be out of here quick, but the second I saw how terrible my nails were coming out I wanted to scream and run out of there. Side note: halfway through this terrible experience a hostess comes and asks me to pay. I have no access to my wallet because my hands are being painted and she went into my wallet & got my card. Because I had to turn the upper half of my body I was extremely uncomfortable and while she was filing my nails they were all coming out slanted. Not only this but the gel was being melted onto my finger rather than the nail and when I brought this to her attention she reprimanded me for not holding my fingers straight when the machine was rested on my arm chair. Not only this, but I have never seen any professional nail technicians not use acetone to clean a nail. This lady was cleaning it with her nail she did not use acetone ONCE!!!! Lastly she glossed one nail and before glossing the other one she answered a phone call and I am assuming she forgot what she was doing and when it came to the other hand she put the oil on my cuticles instead of glossing it. I brought it to her attention and she said no that she glossed it. I would be surprised if I go to a place where they charge $25 for this experience. You get what you pay for. But $50!??? That is a rip off. I am extremely embarrassed for the owners. This was my first visit to this nail salon and it wasn't my favorite experience but I've also had worse ones. The overall environment was nice they did a decent job and keeping everyone distanced - a mask is required at all times which is good. I don't mind coming back to this nail bar and maybe trying another technician because I've heard good things but only with specific technicians. Now for my nail experience, my nail technician was nice and he understood the concept I wanted but both my index fingers are curved out because that's how it was placed when the tips were glued on. I have a few spaces on the sides of my nail but I haven't found anyone that gets all those spaces filled so it's not too bad of a complaint. I also got my toes done and that was good and I had the same nail technician for both my feet and my hands. As to why this place has three stars for me because I went with my sister and she had an experience that wasn't as decent as mine. When she made her appointment she was told she'd get one nail technician and when they sat her she got a different one - this is totally fine it happens all the time but they didn't give any warning for the change but again not a bad thing. Her nails experience was well and her nails came out nice, now for her toes. She got the nail technician she was originally supposed to have and she hated it. The technician went really rough on her feet - especially her big toe and didn't apologize as my sister kept asking if she could be more gentle. Her big toe is still bruised on the side and it's been over a week since we got them done. Lucia, is AMAZING with any type of manicures and pedicures! I have been going to her for a year and doing dip powder with her. I love my nails so much and the dip powder has helped them grow tremendously! They use to be short because i would bite them, for 13 years i had this bad habit and finally I quit this year! She helps me with color choices and she does designs as well, any type square, circle, coffin. She is also very sweet and patient! My mother goes to Veronica for gel mani and pedi and she loves her! Vero is very sweet and talented. She is great at both mani and pedi! They are both great ladies that are hardworking and very good at their job. Thats why i give them both 5 stars. The male owner on the other hand...he is extremely rude to his employees. He reprimendas the ladies in front of clients for things that the client themselves don't see as an issue. I recommend he keep his comments till the end of the shift or pulls them aside during a time when they are not servicing anyone. Sloppy everytime they move too fast, don't get the shape right and don't clean up well, literally tore one of my nails last time

I don't want rate this spot at all, but it's a requirement in order post this. I got there and it wasn't busy, super cool. I was seated with Tony, incredibly sweet guy. Amazing pedicure experience. What sucked? The manicure. I didn't realize until I had walked to a neighboring store to buy something that three of my fingers were nicked and cut. Accidents happen, I get it, but just don't expect a refund of any kind. I was offered to go back to have the nail polish corrected. I didn't find that to be an appropriate resolution being that I do not want acetone near the open cuts. I noticed that the tools used were only sterilized with alcohol, which becomes more significant now when I am asked to return so they can "fix it." No thanks. For $135 (not including tip) I could have gone to an actual spa. I sincerely hope that I don't get an infection from this experience. My advise to anyone reading this: take your money, time, and business somewhere else that takes guest relations seriously. Miami is full of nail salons, my mistake for choosing proximity and being suckered in for the "volcano spa pedicure." That was the biggest reason I opted for spending money and I didn't care about the price.
