We read several books and found ourselves making some progress but getting confused as to the nuances of applying the techniques. All still never getting our kid to sleep through the night without waking up 2-3 times for minutes to hours. We were looking for someone that would help us and not follow a full-extinction methodology from the get go. After looking around at some yelp reviews, facebook mom groups, and Weissbluth sleep offerings, we decided to do a consult with Kelly. She did a phone consult with us to understand where we were at so that she could determine what approach we should best follow should we work with her. Kelly then scheduled time to come out to see our place and our nursery and to talk through starting the sleep training. She also provided a shared spreadsheet and sleep plan that she would follow and adjust with us as needed. We were apprehensive about how it would all go but we gave it a go and our little guy slept through the whole night on the first night. Kelly helped us have confidence in what we had taught our baby so far and how far we could stretch it to improve his self-soothing skills. As our 3-weeks with Kelly proceeded, we had weekly check in calls and were able to text her with any questions that came up as we navigated moving from 3 naps down to 2 daily naps and a slightly fluid bedtime. We're at the end now and while sleep isn't perfect yet, we now have a baby that sleeps peacefully through the night and has 2 naps a day totaling between 2-3 hours. He falls asleep in 10 mins or less after we put him down, sometimes as fast as 2 mins. We feel confident we can get his sleep even more predictable on our own now. Did I mention that Kelly. Is. We chose the in-home sleep training package, and it was one of the best decisions we've made. Lisa helped us properly set up our baby's nursery for optimal sleep and guided us in establishing healthy sleep habits while eliminating the ones that were making sleep difficult. Before working with her, our baby relied heavily on being breastfed, rocked, and soothed to sleep. It often took hours to get him down, and naps could take up most of my day. At night, he would wake 6-8 times for feeding or soothing, and we rarely got even a two-hour stretch of sleep. When Lisa came, she was able to change everything starting from the very first night. Our breastfed baby now sleeps through the night with no feedings and is able to nap independently as well. The difference in his mood and energy is incredible--he is now a much happier and more well-rested baby. In addition to the in-home support, Lisa was very communicative and supportive throughout the remaining 14 days via text, always available to answer questions and provide reassurance. Even when neither were available for a night Rosaline found another nurse for us so we didn't go unsupported. Months later we had a day time nanny resign with less than 24 hour notice and found ourselves scrambling. We tried care.com which is where we found our first nanny (not Rosaline). That process was extremely stressful trying to reach out to people, coordinate interviews and hope they'd be available on such short notice. Rosaline to the rescue again! We texted her and the next day we met with Natacha and immediately hit it off. My wife and I were kicking ourselves for not contacting Rosaline sooner! We were all beyond tired (also having a newborn who was waking through the night) and at a loss of how to get back on track. Sandra immediately assessed our situation and started sharing some parent coaching tips to help us know how to respond to our daughter's protests (and more importantly said, her needs). Sandra also followed up with articles and podcasts, all of which were beyond helpful. I have to say that Sandra left us with not only hope that things would get better if we continued her recommendations, but relief that we didn't have to resort to external tactics (we were using a sticker chart as reward for sleep and it was failing miserably). Instead, we found that we as loving parents have the power to respond in certain ways to help meet our daughter's needs. She started going to sleep around 9pm within days of having Sandra over. That is still later than we like but after a lot of work and many weeks we have reached a spot where our daughter no longer protests bedtime. And just yesterday she told me when she was tired and ready to go to bed! It has been a difficult journey and we probably could have gotten there sooner had we done more work with Sandra and sooner. I am so happy that what Sandra has shared with us can now be useful for other situations as well such as potty-training.

I found myself so excited to hear her walking up my steps at night, and so sad when I heard the door close behind her in the morning. Sara supported me through pumping, she taught me how to read my son's cues and most importantly, she taught him (and me) how to let him go to sleep on his own. Even at that young age, she helped me teach him habits that are still with him now that he's two. She was always on time, very flexible if my schedule changed, and was understanding and respectful of my needs. She took care of me just as much (if not more) than she took care of my son. I still call her to this day when I need some help or encouragement. Sara is also a baby/toddler sleep GENIUS. She knows how to get kids to sleep, how to install healthy sleep habits in a household and what the solution is when a kiddo has a regression. Basically, she's an angel.

After taking our son overseas when he was 6 weeks old she worked her magic getting him adjusted back to CA time while we didn't have to deal with a jet-lagged baby in the middle of the night whilst being jet-lagged ourselves. No doubt Sara was the reason that everyone was amazed that we looked so refreshed with a newborn. While she looked after our son, three of her siblings had babies so we also enjoyed getting to know Sara on a more personal level which was a real joy.
