This store was cute. I was greeted by multiple staff members when I entered. But I'm surprised how difficult it is in 2023 to find gender-neutral clothing. This shop didn't really seem to have much that was gender neutral, at least not for newborns. Even if I knew the sex of my baby I don't believe that there are specific colors for gender so I am not interested in having a closet full of just blue or pink things or otherwise gendered things. A couple of the staff greeted me but that was it. I wandered around and didn't really find much that piqued my interest. Parking is all on the street, and this is maybe just on the outskirts of the more active downtown area of Highland Park, so I imagine it can be difficult to park here (I think I had to circle the block once to find a spot that opened up). It's only a few blocks from Highland Park's Metra stop so that could be convenient if you need to make your way here. read more

It's been a while since I had to purchase a baby gift so I don't really know what's in anymore but I knew I could find an appropriate gift for a newborn here. They are very friendly and I found really adorable items for both genders for sizes tiny to toddlers. There were personalized blankets, hats, etc but I wasn't sure of the spelling so I went for an adorable onesie with tacos and guacs and a teeny tiny rainbow tutu which will be great for photos (imho). It is a little pricey but this is high quality and OOAK merch that will be appreciated. Also wrapped for me, a plus! read more

I have a niece, and she turns one tomorrow! Being my first and only niece, that means she gets spoiled with an outfit from Babydreams boutique. This is my go-to stop for clothing and gifts that are extra special. The price tag is on the higher-end, but the quality and unique clothing is totally worth it. Their size 18/24 clothes are a bit limited, but nevertheless we found the most adorable two-piece outfit that I can't wait for my brother and sister-in-law to open. They only go up to size 2T here, and there are other stores in the downtown area that cater to toddler clothing sizes. IMO, they really cater to babies (hence the name) and you can find some really sweet onesies for girls and boys. They also have a small collection for twins! Though we wanted to ship our items out on our own, they are a one-stop shop and will ship for you. Instead of a box, we had them gift wrap in cute polka dot paper and a bow so we could slip it in a special mailer. If you need something personalized, they do that too :-) Here you'll find clothes for girls and boys, books, blankets, a few toy options, and the cutest hair accessories...ever! read more

Babydreams is my go to shop for all of my baby gifts I need to purchase for friends, family and coworkers. Not only does Babydreams have the cutest, most on trend items, but the staff is extremely knowledgable, helpful and kind. They hand wrap, personalize and can even ship or do local delivery. There is no where else I would even consider when purchasing a baby/toddler gift. I am so lucky to have such a great children's store so close to home and only wish I had more babies to shop for- there are so many adorable things! read more

I'm thrilled yet bummed that Babydreams doesn't carry clothes beyond 2T. Thrilled because I''m saving money since my daughter probably won't be in a 2T for much longer. And bummed because I want to buy everything in here for my daughter! While the girl clothes here at Babydreams are beyond cute, they are one of the few stores that carries some pretty nice stuff for boys as well. Fortunately, my little boy has a few more years to fit into the clothes at babydreams...or actually maybe just a few more months judging by the size of his enormous thighs. On my first trip here I picked up just nano shirt for my stylish littl eman, but will most definitely be back to do some more shopping soon. Most of the store is filled with trendy clothing, but they also have some cute nursery decorations as well. The women who work here are also extremely personable, which makes shopping here even more enjoyable. Now if only those personable women would add some bigger toddler sizes so it could be a one stop shop for both kids! read more

I had the opportunity to stumble on this cute baby boutique. It is absolutely adorable and the service is great. What I really like about Babydreams is that everything is so custom. They have a variety of baby clothes and toys that you can't find at huge corporate baby stores. I bought my friend's baby a sweater jacket and they personalize it with a his stitched name! I also got him a cute toddler AC/DC shirt! I have never seen anything like that before. If you are looking for tons of cute and unique items, I recommend Babydreams... you won't regret it! read more

Absolutely delightful store that packs a ton of great items in a small space. I don't live in the area but received a few gifts for my newborn from people who do; I came in to exchange a couple things and the staff could not have been more helpful or friendlier. I had my baby with me and they provided me with a comfortable space to feed him while I browsed. I was able to find some really special things that I haven't seen anywhere else and I know we'll get a ton of use out of. Even though it is a drive for me, I wouldn't hesitate to go back especially if looking for a gift and something a little out of the ordinary. read more

We are huge, huge Babydreams fans. That's right. HUGE. As a matter of fact, our son is wearing a t-shirt from the store at this very moment. We try to head up to this store every single time we're in the area just to check things out. Yes, they're expensive...But that's what happens when you walk into a specialty store of any kind. Just look at the prices in some of the other stores on the same street! If you think $30 for a 12 month t-shirt is crazy, I'll argue that $30 for one placemat is just as insane - and that's why I'm giving the store 4 stars versus 5. But I digress... The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, especially when you're registering, and they're willing to go above and beyond to make sure that they have what you're looking for. If they're out of your size, they'll offer to order it for you. If you talk about something that you've seen somewhere else, they'll do their best to find it. That's just the way they work. If you value good customer service, don't go to this store. From the moment we walked in, to the moment we left, neither of the 2 women working there said much of anything to us (one of them muttered "Hello" while never looking up from writing something). We didn't get offered any help at all. I'm not going to make assumptions as to why they chose not to be as helpful to us as other Yelp reviewers. It was just plain bad. Keep your money, and walk down Central Ave. to Sprout Kids, where the service is much better. read more

I was lucky enough to wander into Babydreams the other day while they were still putting on the finishing touches to the new store. They had their doors open for curious customers to peek in and see their wonderful collection of baby clothes. The clothes are pricey (especially for stuff babies will grow out of quickly), but are totally worth it and would make adorable gifts. Definitely a kid friendly atmosphere with cute toys for your child to play with while you shop. Sizes only go up to 24 months. read more

I agree with previous posters about the terrible and just plain rude customer service. I went in looking for a quick gift to bring to some friends who had just had a baby. Had I not been in a rush, with no time to stop somewhere else, I most definitely would not have given this place my money. I absolutely will not be back. This store is beautiful, but it is too bad the customer service is awful. I was treated like a second class citizen while shopping for a baby gift for a friend. The customer service in this store was HORRIBLE! I am six and a half months pregnant and drove up to Highland Parky to register for my baby. Before going, I checked the store's website, which said they will help you register anytime. After walking around the store I asked one of the women working if i could quickly put together a registry. The woman very rudely told me to come back on a weekday (I work on weekdays) or that I would need an appointment on a Saturday. She did not offer to find a time that would work, to help us with anything, or to answer any questions. And, there was only one other customer in the store - who was being helped by another sales clerk. I have checked out many baby stores in the Chicago area, and have never experienced such rude customer service. I will never try to shop at this store again. read more
