Went to Peachtree Place to pick out a couple of birthday cards. I was waiting in line to purchase the cards behind a lady that appeared to be buying several gifts that the two ladies behind the counter were wrapping. I waited in line for more than ten minutes and neither lady even look at me. One of them could have easy rung up the cards or at least said something to me. I finally walked out. Needless to say, I'm never setting foot in there again. They obviously don't need my business. read more

Buyer Beware! I am a long time customer of this charming store. Everything can be found online but I was happy to pay a little more for the experience. About a month ago, I had a terrible and demeaning experience with a salesperson. I have called and emailed the store two times to discuss the issue. Never heard back. I have found Maze and Mandarine in Winnetka carry all of my favorite things from Peachtree. Too bad but if you don't want to be belittled stay away. read more

This review is for little peach ( the kids store). I especially liked their selection of baby books, stuffed animals, and toys. Their clothes are pricey ($40-50 for a onesie) but they are very high quality. Most of the ones I saw were made from super soft pima cotton. They had a lot of wooden toys by brands like plan toys. I also like when there are books I have never seen before. I was looking for flap books/ books where baby can touch & interact and I was happy to see they had a lot to choose form. This place is perfect for unique baby shower gifts or a treat for your own baby. They also offer complimentary wrapping which was such a nice touch. read more

Great finds. A bit too scattered and overpriced. Do not dare try to return something, even with a receipt- they hate returns and make it complicated. They are closed on Sundays and that day counts as a day of the 10 you have to return too. Small boutiques are a dying breed... It is too bad the customer service is subpar. I have gotten cute cards from here before, but it was only today that I took a thorough walk through the shop and discovered how unique it is. Peachtree offers a plethora of home decor and gift ideas: jewelry and clothing (that can be priced up to $400!), letterpress cards, trinkets, both fancy and disposable, yet attractive, plateware and glassware, beauty products like lotion and lip balms... the list goes on. Love the perk of being able to have your item gift wrapped on the spot (and those ladies are efficient at doing so!). You can choose the wrapping paper that tickles your fancy too. Sale items don't qualify though. I was greeted and/or asked if I needed help multiple times = friendly customer service. I highly recommend checking this shop out, and while you're at it, stop next door at Three Tarts for a treat! read more

Now that Land of Nod is gone in Northbrook, discovering Little Peach was a real joy! Though their focus is on the little ones, it's upscale delightfulness will charm anyone looking for a gift for a friend, or to decorate their own child's room. Packed with lamps, baby gifts, books, teething gifts, greeting cards, artwork, and more, I instantly fell in love with the mini tent-like houses (pink for me please) with that toy car pulled out front for the full luxury-lifestyle package. Discoveries that stood out in my mind: - An entire collection of teething necklaces, bracelets, etc. - Decorative knee pads for crawling babies - Great book collection - Tall doll house/apartment - Big stuffed toys for bedrooms - The play kitchen along with the stacked washer/dryer set - The owner who was super sweet with twin boys! We talked for the longest time! One stop shop for that baby shower gift if you're looking for something special and out of the ordinary. Super cute shop with lots of entertaining type of things-- placemats, dishes, candles, serveware, etc. We came here looking for inexpensive fun gifts for a grab bag event and were unsuccessful, but we loved the selection of beautiful home goods here. It's quite pricey, however, so I have a hard time imagining furnishing my entire kitchen with their selection-- even though it's so pretty! read more

Such an eclectic display of high end, breathtaking items for the home. The variety of designers this store stocks makes it impossible to not find the perfect original gift or new piece to add to your home. I absolutely love Juliska which is normally hard to find, but they practically carry the whole line. It's surprising how large the store is because as you're walking you pass through doorway after doorway, each time entering a new little nook filled with gorgeous items. Sadly this is not a review of their 11 rooms of merchandise rather the service. As someone who hires and trains people with engaged customer service skills I found my service today disinterested and condescending. I walked into Peach Tree Place because it is my mom's birthday and I know she occasionally has bought a girly gift type item for other people from this establishment. I walked in and greeted the woman behind the register as I walked in and explained it was my mom's birthday and wanted to pick out something. She looked at me and plainly said "well we have 11 rooms." And went back to looking down at the register. Obviously a missed opportunity on her part. But whatever. So I went about shopping didn't really see anything and made my way back to front of the store. She blurts out "how much are you going to spend?" I was a little taken aback and said " I'm not sure thats the right question." She rolled her eyes and condescendingly said "Well we have 5000 dollar bowls, and 10,000 dollar chandeliers here." Subtext: Your young and I think you have no money so get out. She left it at that. Nothing more to say to me. Didn't want to know anything about my Mom or me or making any kind of suggestions. I really walked in there ready to get my mom a gift but instead got a lot of attitude from someone who isn't sure how to handle a younger male customer I suspect. I left a minute later and she just watched me out with cold eyes. Honestly they are even nicer at Walgreens than they are at Peach Tree Place. Later I told my mom about my experience and she actually said she had stopped shopping there long ago because of arrogant service but also mentioned Peach Tree Place was allegedly known to turn down the Josselyn center fund raisers and wasn't interested in the broader community it inhabits. I think if I was a soccer mom in a land rover I would have gotten a different kind of service. I left feeling dismissed. read more

Peachtree Place is a deceptively large store - there are multiple rooms packed with inventory, and it can be kind of difficult to navigate if there are other customers around. I was last in right before Christmas to get a gift for my boyfriend's mother, and I found a lot of good options. After I picked something out, the clerk boxed it and wrapped it beautifully. Gorgeous patterns presented in a charming, sophisticated environment. And the staff makes you feel like a guest rather than a customer. From staid & traditional to modern & sassy, this store has it all; and then some. Wander beyond the stationery area and you find room after room filled with beautiful things. Crystal, china, pillows, throws, serving pieces, soaps, lotions, candles, jewelry, lingerie, case goods, lamps, lighting fixtures, framed artwork, books, mirrors, table linens, purses, scarves; the list goes on and on. One large room is devoted to probably the best Vera Bradley selection in the city; and we were informed that Little Peach, the adorable kids store next door, is a brand new addition. When it comes to exquisite Christmas ornaments and decorations, Peachtree is an absolute treasure. Be prepared, some of the pieces run into the hundreds. We've never seen a better selection of unique ornaments, tree skirts, branches, carolers, angels, stockings, garlands, holiday linens anywhere. Period! At first glance, the store seemed pricey beyond our reach, but upon looking around, we realized that there are beautiful things in every price range. Right next to scarves priced in the hundreds were equally beautiful ones for $25. For a gift, we saw a cheese board & knife set for about $100, but wound up buying a wooden one within our budget for about $24. For a gift store, this is a dream come true because they will box and wrap anything (except sale items) in the most sophisticated giftwrap you've ever seen for free. It looks like they have about a dozen patterns to choose from. These days, giftwrapping alone adds about $5-$10 to the cost of the gift no matter where you shop. They say that they code gifts so that there's a no hassle return policy. Who knew? Peachtree Place is tucked away practically in plain sight of the Edens, just south of Willow. We traveled up there expecting a suburban strip mall experience but were transported to another time and place. read more

Review is for Little Peach Rating because: -selection only ok nothing stood out as unique or something I couldn't find less expensive somewhere else -pricing high -staff attitude - didn't welcome us yet watched us like a hawk as we browsed (me and my 7 year Old); she spent some time playing with a Melissa and Doug toy set out by the front window and the ladies that didn't have time to say hello were able to quickly admonish her, telling her to "get out of the window" so she wouldn't break anything. She was standing by the (full pane) window - quietly playing with the toy with me right next to her. I guess she could have bumped into the $600 stuffed animal next to her and that could have somehow ricocheted and shattered a full frontal pane glass window? So my conclusion: a children's shop that doesn't welcome children. Just beware. I will delightedly be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Wonderful Store - Great for Gifts Peachtree Place and Lil Peach (the adjacent children's store) is a great place to buy gifts. Not only do they have a variety of items of chose from but they wrap it for you! I was directed to Peachtree Place by a friend of mine who is also really big into Christmas decorating. Well, that was about 6 or 7 years ago, and now I find myself going there about once every 2 months, not only during the Holiday Season. I love that when I go in the store, the sales consultants all know me and tell me about new things in the store. I've bought items for mantle, the dining room table, my bedroom, but most of all lots and lots of Christmas decorations. Now really, I shouldn't be writing this review, because it just might give me more competition for Peachtree Places fine merchandise, but I do believe in letting others know that there are truly class acts still around, and Peachtree Place is a class act...all the way! read more

I Have been shopping at Peachtree Place for years. I live in Atlanta , but visit Chicago once a year. This is, hands down , the most wonderful gift shop I have ever visited. I never travel to Chicago without a trip to Peachtree Place. Lucy, the owner , has exceptional taste and her staff is very helpful. I made my first trip to Peachtree Place December 2010. It is a charming store filled with lovely items you cannot live without! I saw everything from lip gloss to crystal to jewelry to clothing to candles. The perfect place to find a gift for anyone......especially yourself! I would be remiss if I didn't mention the highly collectable, alway beautiful, simply unique Patricia Breen glass Christmas ornaments at Peachtree Place. This review is actually about Little Peach (the kids part of Peachtree). I've been shopping at Peachtree Place for years and LOVE it. Some of the staff is a bit non-friendly but I love the products and love the gift wrapping. I can always find a gift there. However, today my husband and I went to Little Peach with our 3 year old daughter. They had a shopping cart for sale on the floor and our daughter started pushing it around very slowly while picking out things she wanted to buy. We decided to get most of the things in the basket because we were in shopping moods and she was having a ball and being a very polite shopper. The sales staff were involved in personal conversations and didn't offer any help with asked about certain toys. We got the total brush off. We put the cart by the counter and she sat on the floor to play with the very durable looking dollhouse that appeared to be set up as a display for kids to play with while the parents shop. One of the sales staff immediately went over to her and scolded her for playing with it. We were stunned because it looked like it was put there for the kids to play with. The sales staff didn't say a word to us - it was as if we weren't there. So my husband took her outside so I could pick things to purchase. I took one last look at some books and then saw the sales people putting the things in the basket away, commenting about how she filled the cart. Bottom line, don't display things as if they should be played with. Can you really expect a child to walk into your store and NOT push the cart or play with the dollhouse? p.s. I like your stuff but that's the very first time my child has ever been scolded by a sales staff. And, really she was being an angel. read more

Love the merchandice, but need to think about hiring a new sales staff. If they woman can't handle the "stress" of a retail environment they should look for something else to do. They are an extremely rude group ladies. I purchase quite a bit from the store, but the staff makes me second guess and go elsewhere on the North Shore. As a collector of Patricia Breen ornaments I must say that Patty the Breen representative treats each customer with respect and efficiency. There are so few places to buy a unique and special gift. Uhm, wow. I just walked out of the place and wasn't welcomed by any of the women working there. Sure, the place is cute and has nice things, but don't bother going in because the employees are so rude. You can get the Kate Spade anywhere else and the over priced light fixtures from a furniture store. I am appalled by the behavior of the women and their inability to greet the people that are keeping them in business. Long story short, don't support this place because I guess they're "too stressed" to treat their customers right. What a joke. read more
