Stop it with the cover charges. You know your establishment is a musty lounge in Woodbridge. The wings are good, but most people work and can only come in the evenings, when you charge cover. No one wants to pay a cover charge for wings and to be honest, you dont have much else to offer. read more

This is my second time coming. I prefer the playlist and atmosphere for the day time. They have a good selection of food, hookah and drinks. I like their angry orchard, strawberry Long Island, and strawberry margarita. They have good service. I normally don't post reviews. Had to shout this hookah lounge out for its comedy show! Me and my girls stopped by for a quick drink and didn't know it was comedy night. The local comedians (men & woman) were so funny. The guy hosting appears to be well-known can't remember his name, Laughing Lenny?. They have a FREE COMEDY SHOW EVERY WEDNESDAY AT 8:00 PM! I've always paid at least a $20 cover charge for entertainment at places like this. We spoke to the host and confirmed it's free every week! They should advertise on their business website, justsayn. Horrible service. Showed up with a large group we were initially told it would be $10 per person cash only. We stepped outside to gather our cash. Once we were ready with our group of 15 , the bouncer all of a sudden changed the price to $20 per person no explanation given. The Mother's Day brunch event was terrible. The only thing I can appreciate was the DJ. I have no clue where Babylon got the heavy set server from but absolutely not. The first thing you do as a server is make sure your table has silverware and a beverage. Took 2 hours to get water. Having to yell across tables for your server is ridiculous. But she made sure to bring her non attentive ass back for the $$ as quick as possible. But I guess when gratuity is included your service can be as bad as ever. I went to meet my homegirl for drinks and happy hour. Upon sitting down at the bar, I was greeted by a male bartender by the name of Ash. Everything was fine until my homegirl showed up. Once she showed up, he came back only one time asking if everything was okay and had a rather luck luster look on his face --one could say a face of disgust. My review is for the wings. Hands down the best wings in this area. I come here often but I usually don't stay because it's a hookah place and I don't like the smell of smoke all over me. But I have dined in a few times, usually happy hour because they have good specials. Besides that I do see that they have different activities going on and the patrons seem to be having a good time.... but back to these wings... first I love dry rubs... sauces are okay but their dry rubs are so flavorful... 15 dollar cover charge for what exactly? This is a local hookah bar that's usually over packed and slow waiters this is... Not DC or Clarendon ... It's WOODBRIDGE... It was very empty once that cover charge started. They kept pushing the price up then there was this long line they were only letting 3 people in at a time and it wasn't even at capacity... For 15 dollars and all that ridiculous hassle I can just drive the 30 mins to DC. Went back to try them out again... Security guy outside said 20 dollar charge because there was some local comedy show... Seriously I walked up to that door at 8:30 pm... Babylon is a new venue. I think as I am writing this review it's only been open for 2 months. With that being said there should be time to let a place get established (to the 2 reviewers before me). Also, considering the lack of "night life" Woodbridge has I am ecstatic to have a venue of this type at all without having to go outside the area. Now on to my review... I came here for happy hour (4-8 pm) on a Friday. The DJ was playing old school r&b which I really liked (don't always have to be "crunk" party time like we're on spring break lol). There was a moderate crowd (late 20s, 30s and up) and I was able to get a seat at the bar by my friend who I met there. The happy hour prices were reasonable ($4-5 drink specials and $5 appetizers). Bar conversations were fun and entertaining. The bartenders Todd and Kim were attentive and friendly. Even later in the evening when it started to get crowded they were still accommodating. Big plus. As the night went on (after 10) there was a definite shift in the type of crowd that came in. Much younger (21+), louder, and a lot rowdier lol. As expected the music changed to more hip-hop, pop/ current r&b, which was cool. I can't complain about the entry fee because happy hour is free. The hookah flavors I tried blue mist and mango mixed with mint were really nice. The appetizers I tried (BBQ wings, steak quesadilla) were good too. Downside: They need more than one bar to accommodate the larger crowd. Also the DJs had switched and the late night DJ was not the best at mixing the songs or playing music people would want to dance to. Sir, people came to have a good time not listen to your 5 "favorite" songs. Nothing worse than a selfish DJ..well maybe an inexperienced one. When the hookah comes out it only has one pipe which sucks because if you are sharing it you have to take turns but you do get a few different mouth pieces to use. Also, I wish the hookah pipe had a stand for the people at the bar. It became annoying to have to hop down to adjust the charcoal and the attendant didn't come back to check on you unless you ordered more. All in all I will definitely return to Babylon for the happy hour. Hopefully they will extend it to the weekend. I had a good time but I will leave the after 10/11 scene to someone else lol. read more

Arrived last night... Saturday night at 10pm. $10 cover charge but went up to $20 cover later in the night. Mixed drinks were trash and I tried about 4... mines plus tasting best friend's. So we ended up just getting liquor and chaser. Had two types of wings... regular and the other was smothered in garlic and possibly Parmesan. The regular wings were delicious. The DJ was ok but the Host on the mic was great. The service for our party/table was on point! Shuttle Thoughts band played and it was a large crowd. Nice place but could definitely give the bartenders some training and have a bigger dance area if they are going to have live bands. read more

This place was awful. I got in and some dude had the nerve to tell me to put a sweater on when I was wearing a nice shirt and jeans. After he JUST let in three girls with everything hanging out of their skimpy dresses....the NERVE to tell me to put on a sweater. This place was over crowded too loud and it smelled bad. I went to this place on Halloween with some friends to celebrate a co-worker's birthday. I didn't eat any food but my friends did and they said that the wings were very good however all of us talked about the drinks whether it was a mixed drink or straight drink it wasn't good at all. Even though we requested a certain brand of liquor it did not taste like that liquor. Two of my friends smoked the hookah because they are hookah bar and both of them threw up that night and had sore throats the next day. I understand that there is a belief that African-Americans do not tip well so the tip was added on to the bill. There was a comedy show and let me say this it was quite ratchet they needed to be booed off the stage, by the look of the crowd everybody already knew not to come that night. Came here on a Saturday night for my birthday. Arrived around 9:30pm and got in free. Because it was still kinda early there weren't too many people there until after 1030ish. Music was good and live band came on after 10. It was my first time eating on the menu and I ordered wings and they were BOMB (pretty wing & old bay flavor was so good ). We sat at the bar, our waiter was cool and attended to all our needs (we gave a nice tip). All the other waiters were nice too and answered any questions we had. This was my first time at Babylon and compared to Starlight Cafe (where I had an alright time) Babylon was LIKE THAT. I went during a weekday around 5pm and there was no cover charge but after hours there is a cover charge on weekends (idk about weekdays). The DJ spinned the hottest hits and was very lively. There were a decent amount of people and I could tell this place gets packed cause of how many people were there that early in the day. The hookah was good and I love how they have real food on the menu like Fettucine alfredo. I wasn't hungry so I can't review the food. I also love how they have a stage and it looks like they may have open mics although I know they have artists come and perform. The customer service was pretty good. It's exactly what you expect it to be. I like it because the food is low fare, the hookah does its job, and the drinks are fairly strong.
