Thanks to the DJ for trading shirts with my cousin in exchange for a banana. I didn't think he'd accomplish his mission of the night. Haha fun time.

Things I learned at the Queen's Gambit: - That dance song that's like, "left foot left stomp. take it back now, y'all" is called the Cha Cha Slide, and there IS a move called the Charlie Brown! Allow me to demonstrate... - If a male stripper is built but missing a tooth, he is a waste of good arm muscle - "The Sign" is impossible to sing without sounding like a banshee Thank god I had a great time at the QG, or else boy, would I be bitter about having driven 45 minutes out of my Bethesda-Chevy Chase comfort zone. My friend Lauren invited me out for karaoke, St. Patty's Day style, and I agreed after she promised to be the DD. We rolled in, green outfits blazing, at 9 pm. First up: "Restaurant & Banquets"? Really? This place did not scream classy. This place screamed electric slide. In fact, the entire room danced to the electric slide two hours later. I was very pleased by the giant green mugs of Miller Lite and the Emerald City cocktails, and I ended up paying $14 for one of the first and two of the second, which is great. However... WARNING: I was told by a few people in the know not to ever order a mixed shot here. The bartenders apparently charge you for each ingredient separately, and Red Bull alone costs $6 or something equally ridiculous for Woodbridge. As for the karaoke... it was four stars' worth of excellent. They had a great computer system that let you put in your name to reserve a spot and pick a song later if you needed time to look over the enormous song list, and the system would tell you approximately what time you were up to sing. The volume was perfect, no one talked over anyone, and people were really enjoying themselves onstage. I only wish this place were closer to me, because it beat the pants off Peyote. QG would be fantastic for a UYE if we could coordinate rides somehow... just a thought :)

We had fun! Karaoke was awesome! Drive bar where locals come to chill. Not gonna lie, I was told to stay away from this place... Though I'm glad I came. It's really a spot where it depends on who you come with. A lady there tried to pressure my friend and I to take her home... That was strange, but we suggested Uber to her. I'd go again with a group.

I'm not so sure I can describe that...

I've been here quite a few times for drinks and karaoke. I LOVE this place. It's a hole in the wall type bar but I've never seen any drama and the crowd is generally there to have a good time. The owner is a blast and makes a point to talk to and become familiar with his customers. The drinks are always made well and the bartenders are attentive. The building is a bit old and it could obviously stand to have some remodeling done (I'm pretty sure the owner said he's been there for around 11 years) so its not modern or chic or anything, but its an awesome place to grab some drinks and have a good time. This place has to have one of the most extensive karaoke song selection. It's comfortable and I have never seen any nonsense going down, seems like everyone is there to have some fun.

I don't care what the haters say I love this place. The staff are super friendly and so is the owner! The drinks are a good price and Paolo is my favorite. Come here and sing some karaoke or play some darts. Definitely a good place to chill in the area.

I had actually been to this bar twice before but since it is located IN the Alamo theater, I never got to try it because I would always open the main entrance door & see the theater employees & think I couldn't access Ghost Fleet (the bar) unless I purchased a movie ticket. Well, that isn't the case. I finally asked a theater employee who told me to just stay to the left & I could order from the bartender. I will say, for a bar located in a theater, I was shocked that GF has 25+ craft beers on tap & a few that I do recognize & enjoy!! Note: Happy Hour is available Monday to Friday from 4-7pm. The food here is average at best but still filling. The pizza is probably the best option for both portion size as well as price. Tip: You can make any pizza "Angry" (jalapeño, red chili flakes, & fresh basil) for $2 up charge. I ordered the Omnivore (Angry) because I was surprised to see that GF makes their own pizza crust in house?! The Omnivore comes with pepperoni, tomatoes, roasted red peppers, mushrooms, cheese, homemade marinara, Kalamata olives & red onions. It was a decent pie & definitely bigger than what I expected. Angry Omnivore = $15 + $2 (Angry). I also ordered the Kids size chicken tenders with fries. For 2 decent sized tenders & some fries, I suppose the $10 is on par with theater food costs... The chicken was surprisingly moist & tender. GF has an outdoor patio as well so one can enjoy a nice cold brew during the hot summer days & nights. The bartender was quite knowledgeable in each beer offered & did allow me to sample the Dark Hollow before I "fully committed" to ordering it. I felt $8 for a nice cold beer was worth it! I'm happy I at least got to try GF & when I'm in the mood for a stout or IPA, I'll definitely choose GF over the other eateries at Stonebridge that sell beer... Parking is ample & available on site. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area & want a nice cold beer. I do wish GF well.

On June 18 at 6:00 PM, after I paid for a lineup of music, GM Jessica abruptly cut off my songs to play audio for a World Cup match. No warning, no courtesy. When confronted, Jessica promised to replenish my account for the lost plays. That never happened. Despite multiple return visits and even escalating the issue to Assistant Manager David, my account remains empty. To make matters worse, today, July 2 at 4:45 PM, I tried to speak with Jessica again. She deliberately ignored me while on the phone, offering zero customer recognition. This is incredibly unprofessional leadership. A General Manager's job is to take care of customers and honor their word. For me, this isn't just about the money anymore--it is about the principle and basic respect. Corporate operations needs to step in and address how regulars are being dismissed at this location.
