We've already been to this location a handful of times, so here are a few reasons we keep coming back. The service here has been exceptionally well. We're greeted with a warm welcome upon entering and they're usually able to seat us right away. Our waiters have been friendly, accommodating, and attentive during our dining experience. We've utilized their high chairs for our littles, and they've been helpful in setting it up for us. We're usually here during their happy hour on the weekdays because it's half off their appetizers and some of their drinks are between $4-$7. Our favorite apps are: Beef Empanadas, Yuca Cheese Fries, Creamy Spinach & Artichoke Dip, and their Coconut Shrimp. For our entree, in the past we've ordered: Grilled Chicken with Cilantro-Crema, Jerk Chicken Pasta, Grilled Salmon and their Applewood Bacon & Cheddar Burger. Everything comes out consistently hot and delicious. I would say that the Grilled Chicken lacks some seasoning, esp for a Caribbean themed restaurant. Other than that, there are lots of tasty flavors and spices that can get your palate going. The restrooms are toward the back and they've been in decent condition. Most of the time, the toilets and sinks are functioning and their soaps and paper products are usually stocked. There's a changing table in the women's restroom. Had a great time dining at Bahama Breeze. The ribs were delicious, the Filet Mignon was cooked just right, and the Coconut Shrimp with the citrus-mustard dip was so tasty. Even the yuca frites (which I'm usually not a fan of) were crispy and delicious with that jerk honey butter. Patricia took great care of us with spot-on food and drink recommendations. This is my second time at this location, it was a group of 6 of us. I picked this location because I do like the vibe, I like the curb appeal and the ambiance is pretty nice there but when it comes to the food, I am convinced I am not ordering the right things or the things I like. I read reviews and get the things people say is good then when I get it I don't like it. Our server was nice enough to recommend things to us. It was really helpful. I got the the skirt steak churrasco. I wanted to get the Cuban sandwich but I changed my mind last minute. I don't eat a lot of seafoods, I only eat certain fishes, If I did, I would have gotten shrimp because I heard they are good. 2 people in our group got the Jamaican jerk chicken and they loved it. I should have gotten the jerk chicken too. Other than that the rest of us thought our foods was okay, a bit tasteless. Visited the Potomac mills location and had the chowder for dinner. Very delicious. My concern, or more so, an observation. I have sat at the bar to eat and drink many times over the years and it has always disturbed me that the drink machines are on the floor. I asked a bartender if bending over multiple times per shift bothered their back, and they confirmed it did but it was a part of the job. It seems this restaurant would realize this is back breaking work and move the machines up to a workable height. How much trouble could this possibly be? And why are customers drinks so close to potential floor splash? Shouldn't the food inspectors flag this as a violation of sorts? I certainly dont order drinks from those machines because of all that I have discussed above. Bahama Breeze do better. I came here with my family to have a quick lunch. Had a few gift cards to use but I had an okay experience. We were promptly seated after walking into the restaurant, there's a lot of tables that were empty and it was moderately quiet. At the tables, they had the little kiosk machine where you could call your waiter, play games or just pay for your check there instead of waiting on someone to hand you the bill. Very convenient. For our appetizer, we got the Crab and Three Cheese Dip. It came out pretty quick from our server with a moderate amount of chips but the cheese dip, you had a lot of. We ate that while we waited on our food and surprisingly there was a lot more crab. It wasn't bad at all. I got the Tequila Sunburn Glazed Salmon. It's a dish with Pineapple-Mango Salsa served with Cinnamon Mashed Sweet Potatoes and Green Beans. Honestly when the dish came out it looked a bit underwhelming. Maybe the portion sizes just look a bit small to me but then again it was just lunch. The salmon was a bit dry but the pineapple-manga salsa sorta helped. I had to grab my drink while eating my salmon. Cinnamon Mashed Sweet Potatoes.. they are okay. I didn't taste cinnamon at all but the sweet potatoes I did for sure. I added some salt and pepper and it made it a bit better. Green Beans well.. they are green beans. We'll leave it at that. The female bartender was extremely rude and unprofessional. She loudly and dismissively announced that she would not be serving our table and demanded someone else take over, all within earshot. I've had the privilege of dining at Bahama Breeze as a kid. As an adult, I sometimes come back to eat some of my favorite dishes here. I love the skillet shrimp and the empanadas. This time I decided to try the yuca cheese sticks and they were good! I also enjoyed my bahama mama here. My only issue with this place is the service. The service is below average. I found that I have to request items several times. Ive visited this particular location and sat at the bar each time. Each time the service is below average. Now, I've seen this restaurant since its inception many years ago, problem is, it's right across from the Cheesecake Factory, which is one of my all time favorite mid level restaurants! So everytime I was walking to Bahama Breeze I'd detour and end up at Cheesecake.. Smh!! Not this time! I was determined to make it in and boy am I glad I did!!! We came here because we heard about their great happy hour from 4-6 and we had a gift card. When we got in, we noticed it wasn't as busy as we expected and we were able to get a table near the bar. I did find out that happy hour was for the whole restaurant so that's a plus. We tried 4 of the 5 speciality drinks that were $5 each which was a super great deal. The Frozen Bahamarita, Ultimate Pina Colada, Mojita Cubano, and the Pineapple-Coconut Martini were all solid. Both the Frozen Bahamarita and Ultimate Pina Colada weren't too boozy and were more frozen and fruity. We also ordered the spinach dip & chips, coconut shrimp, and beef empanadas, each for half price. The spinach dip & chips were pretty run of the mill. I was more a fan of the shrimp and empanadas, both solid. We got everything in during the happy hour window and our server was busy bartending too so service was pretty good. Went to Bahama breeze with my girls for lunch. This was my first time going for lunch so I got one of the lunch combos. The lunch combo was a decent portion. Seafood is pretty light in general so I didn't expect to feel super stuffed. The seafood chowder was surprisingly very good! I'm not a huge drinker by any means but the dragon fruit margarita didn't taste like it had ANY tequila in it. Also the service was pretty terrible or else I would have given them a 4/5 star review. Two stars were awarded for the quality of the food and drinks. However, the service was extremely slow. Our group of local educators was simply attempting to enjoy some drinks and appetizers, but it took over 30 minutes for our orders to arrive. Thats 30 for drinks and 30 for food and anything after also took 30 minutes. The waiters rarely visited our tables, and those who ordered soft drinks were not even offered refills. The manager was also unhelpful and generally unpleasant. Although I doubt we will return, I felt compelled to share this feedback. I also ordered food with the host up front they took my number to text me when my order was ready. I waited 45 minutes and never received a text message. I finally went up to ask for an ETA and my food had been sitting on the counter for who knows how long because it was cold and soggy by the time I got it home (6 minute drive). read more
