Truly I am shook at the evolution of Baby's. I visited many years ago and I was underwhelmed, but I went back for the first time at the end of January 2025 and had my socks knocked off. Nothing aesthetically has changed in the decorations, it is still so cute and so pink in there. The food on the other hand was 100% better. I am a snob for a burger so when I saw their options I decided to go simple to really get a taste of the burger. I was so impressed with the flavor and the quality. A lot of burgers don't have much flavor but this make your own double patty burger with cheese was overflowing with flavor. After visiting at the end of January and ordered takeout in early February and was still so blown away at the quality and the care that was put in to even a take out order. The fries were phenomenal as well. They are pretty close to being shoelace fries and with the bowl you get two signature sauces of your choosing. I can't remember what sauces we had but they were delicious. I will definitely be back and probably will have to have a shake next time. read more

We visited Baby's for my baby niece's 9th birthday. Our group was large, so a large round table in the corner of the dining room, as well as 4-top next to, was chosen. You order your food at the counter and are given a # for your table for the food to be delivered to you. In my opinion, the speed of service was inconsistent. My dine-in order took quite a while to come out, but the to-go order placed at least 15 minutes afterwards was delivered within a few minutes of the dine-in order. The menu is simple, but still offers a nice variety of options. I ordered the Swissy That Walk burger sans mushrooms. I also ordered the Baked Potato Fries with jalapenos added to be shared with another member of our party. The burger was DE-licious! The fries could have benefited from a more generous helping of the toppings. They have a bar with the options to make your shakes boozy. They also offer Delta 8 and Delta 9 THC cocktails. An addition to the regular fountain beverages, they also offer a couple of mocktails and NA beer, I believe. The restaurant itself is very cute. It reminds me of a 1950's soda fountain re-imagined. Great vibes and atmosphere, super friendly staff, but food was mid at best. Kids chicken tenders were small and mostly breading for $9. We opted for Mac and cheese with the kids meal for an extra $2 - it was creamy and a nice portion for that price point. For entrees, we ordered a buffalo chicken wrap, it was $14 and pretty decent size, but didn't come with any side or chips. We also ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich; it was mostly bread, a thick potato bun. Also came with no side so we added a bowl of fries to share. They were crispy and salty, basic shoestring cut. Everything was fine, nothing stand out. Restaurant was really cute and trendy. I was so excited to FINALLY try Baby's - but, I was just a little bit disappointed. There wasn't anything wrong exactly, everything was just okay. We got set outside while it rained little but that was "only" sits available. I went here to celebrate a friend's birthday and it was such a fun and festive place to meet. I loved learning about the history of the building and how it contributes to the intentional activities and community events that Baby's hosts, such as their drag brunch. You'll grab a seat and order at the counter whenever you're ready, and the staff will bring out your food to your table once it's ready. I ordered a build your own burger and added the free toppings of lettuce, pickles, and tomatoes, as well as one of the signature sauces. I upgraded for pepper jack cheese and the caramelized onions, which I thought really elevated my burger. I felt the ingredients were fresh. This was one of the worst dining experiences I have had. The restaurant wasn't busy when we were there. It took close over 45 minutes to get our food, I had to flag down our server to ask how much longer it was going to take (he was avoiding our table to not have to acknowledge the ridiculous wait). Once he came back from checking on our order, we were told they had a lot of carry out orders, stop taking more carry out orders than your kitchen can handle. When our food finally came out it was lukewarm, fries were barely warm. Burger was dry and lukewarm. To add insult to injury we were finished eating and had to watch our waiter wash glasses at the bar, desperately wanting to get our bill so we could leave. I had full intentions of ordering a smash burger and a shake, but I saw that Mondays special was $10 specialty macaroni and cheese. They offer many specials every day and for lunch. I decided to order their key lime shake, which was absolutely delicious!! You can add booze to the milkshake if desired. They also had a pretty big drink list available. I ordered the loaded baked potato macaroni and cheese as my entree. Overall, I enjoyed the dish, and the only aspect I didn't care for was the bacon. I wished the bacon had more of a crunch to it, as it seemed very processed and didn't appear to be freshly cooked. We scoured social media for recommendations for a kid-friendly restaurant in Indianapolis (not Fishers/Carmel/Westfield), and Baby's was the top recommendation by leaps and bounds. We are absolutely confounded as to how. It was fine for kids, but the price vs. quality was the largest gap I've ever seen. We paid $70 (over $80 after a tip) for four people (two adults, two kids) for food that amounted to what you get in a Wendy's value meal... and not just quantity, but quality too. And let's be frank: there's nothing going for it to justify that price. No live music, no entertainment. It wasn't by Lucas Oil or Gainbridge. You're paying for virality and they are taking advantage of every second of it. The food is good. It's nowhere near the value you are paying for. oh my, I can't believe my last review was almost 3 years ago! Went last Monday (7/15/24) and we got there at a perfect time it was not busy at all. Since I'd been there last, there's now a bike lane on east bound 22nd, but there is still parking on the west side in the street and a lot, and on the north side of 22. The large patio was open, but it was a little hot out, so we ate inside at one of hte large yellow booths. Today was order at the counter & then they bring it to your table. This time, I had the Bam Burger ( a smashed single with cheese & their "bam" sauce, and onion rings. We went to the Christmas drag brunch and it was great! Miss Pat Yo Weave does a great job hosting and the queens are so fun. There were people there from infant (with adorable ear protection for the music) to grandparents, straight and LGBTQIA2S+ alike have a great time. When asked where I recommend to take kids to eat in Indianapolis, I always recommend Baby's. The pink and cute diner style decor, the attentive and kind servers, and the easy-pleasing food is always a hit with my family. I love the BAM! Burger! The Bam sauce is soooo good. I have no clue what it is, but it's delicious. I also appreciate the monthly curious shake and the well thought out cocktail menu. Baby's also has a covered, heated patio, which is a nice option in the winter. I arrived about 12:45 pm on a Thursday and their parking lot and establishment were almost empty. I saw two tables occupied. I guess I missed the lunch rush. As I was reading the signage how to order, which was scanning a QR code on the table you select, a staff member pointed out the menus in the baskets and told me to order at the counter when I'm ready. Very helpful and friendly. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Sandwich with lettuce and tomato plus Onion Rings. The onion rings were exceptional, best I've had in a long time. The chicken sandwich was okay, I should've added more toppings probably. They have a large outside dining area available with heaters and ceiling fans. There are also a few tables by the playground. I wouldn't have known about the playground if I hadn't read Nicole's and Niki's reviews as it is out of your line of sight from the main dining room. My wife and I found this place because--drag brunch. Say no more. We love a place that gives us glitter and grease. Unfortunately, we didn't make it for the show... but we were cruising through Indy on a road trip and figured, hey, we'll try the food and manifest the drag queens spiritually. The vibe? Adorable. My wife kept it simple with a cheeseburger, and we shared some loaded potato fries, a soda, and a little shake for dessert (because we're cute like that). The fries? Crispy. Tasty. Didn't drown in toppings like they were trying to escape the Titanic. A+ for potato integrity. The burgers? Eh. Dry patties, not much flavor, no salt to save the day. I don't ask much of a smash burger--just a little crust, a little seasoning, a little oomph. This was more like meh. Honestly, Freddy's could've done it better--and Freddy doesn't even have drag queens. So would I come back? I wish I could give this restaurant a glowing review, because it seems like everyone else has an awesome experience here. I was excited to see there were reservations AND a fun outside play spot for kids. I thought everything was going great after I called and make a reservation, until we arrived at the restaurant. Once we got there, I was informed that reservations for outside are NOT taken, regardless of what the employee I spoke with earlier in the day told me and that "it would probably be a while to get a table outside since everyone just sat down". Disappointing, but we were optimistic and decided to continue with our meal. We were sat at a 6 person table and an additional chair was brought over because the empty 8 person table next to us was being held for someone. I had to return to the hostess stand to get kids menus and crayons myself. Ordered our drinks and an appetizer - pretty straightforward process and we got them relatively soon after. About the 20 minute mark, our waitress was back to take our order, and that was the last real interaction we had with any staff until our in-restaurant time hit an hour and I went to the bar to inquire about our order. After a short wait, we were informed that "our order would be next up in the kitchen for prep", and at that point I decided it wasn't worth waiting any longer. I really wish I could've given this place an objective review that included the entire experience, but unfortunately for me and my family, the experience ended with an unfulfilling 60 minute wait aside from coke products that weren't ever refilled and pretzel bites. read more

The mixed drinks were overly sweet and honestly pretty terrible. For the price point, I expected a better overall experience. We sat under the enclosed patio, and unfortunately, someone came up to our table asking for money during our meal, which made things uncomfortable. I always love the decor and the drink options. I especially feel seen because of their non-dairy and vegan options! I ordered the impossible burger and fries with that Dazzle sauce. I love the vibe/ decor/ theme of Baby's. It's so cute in there! I've been to Baby's a few times and I've enjoyed the vegan shake option every time. The service is usually pretty great and the folks are all so friendly. The issue is the flavor of my food. Before pregnancy my boyfriend and I used to come here, while pregnant we also came here and now after having our little one, you best to believe we have visited here with him! Baby's has become a favorite of my family! We are vegetarians and they have options for us here and it is rather delicious! I have never had a bad experience here at all. The inside is super fun and colorful. The bathrooms are always clean when I come here as well. Their outside seating is nice as well, get to eat your food while enjoying the nice weather. The service here is like Culver's. You go order at the counter and then they give you a number and bring your food out to your table. I didn't like the food here and won't return. We had a Fox 59 gift certificate so thankfully we didn't pay full price. These are nowhere near a real smashburger. Tasted like a preformed frozen burger. Pretzel bun was stale and lackluster. Fries were meh, not worth eating. The only thing I liked was the fried Cheese Curds, they were edible.
