[[HIGHLIGHT]]Inferno has the best theming of any bar and restaurant in town. There is so much detail every where you look. You seriously feel like you have been transported to another place[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I ended up ordering the Tambaran Firedancer drink. I love an interactive experience. Our waiter put on quite the performance. I was surprised by how long the drink burned. It had a wonderful smokey smell to it. I actually didn't want to put the fire out, but I also wanted a drink. I had been given a snuffer to put out the fire, which was so much fun. Not only was it a fun experience, it tasted good as well. I also ordered the whip feta for the table. It wasn't what I was expecting. It was sweet. But it was really good and surprised how well it went with the vegetables. Overall, the Inferno Room is a must do experience if you are in the Indy area.
I really hate to give this review but this is my opinion. The spam pineapple fried rice is my husband's favorite dish! Unfortunately, this new menu has me torn. The burger that used to be on the menu was 10/10!! The toppings would change and I'd try everyone! The meat was superb! The new burger is covered in some type of chili sauce that is just not for me. Even the fried rice used to come in a large bowl, now it's served on a small plate and you have to add an egg for $2 and it's just fried and placed on top. The service is always decent and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the decor is out of this world![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I want the old menu back... Pics are from the old menu
[[HIGHLIGHT]]The Inferno Room is quite simply an incredible tiki lounge and entertainment venue.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Indianapolis is so lucky to have such a high-quality example of this type of niche entertainment available. And I offer this observation, being a tiki advocate and fan of this mostly bygone restaurant culture from an earlier era. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Flaming drinks, colors, sites, smells, and sounds which transport you to a time when cocktails and dining were not just a gastronomic and taste experience, but something to be enjoyed by the eyes and ears as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff is super friendly, and a real camaraderie develops amongst the customers. The Inferno Room truly delivers. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I had an opportunity after strolling around and taking photos of the venue, to speak with the owner. He informed me that the holdings of the restaurant and the others which he has in storage are probably one of the largest collections of Polynesian art and culture in North America.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]While some might question the prudence of the display, I strongly maintain that venues such as this provide a critical two fold service: first, the preservation of important, cultural artifacts by persons who truly have an interest and care for the importance of their cultural significance, and second, they are made readily available for the viewing and education of all the people who visit here and see them.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It is, in fact, a great and exceptionally finely curated cultural museum. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I would return again and again, just to study and enjoy the visual presentation of this fine venue.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is a bonus that great tiki lounge culture is also included.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I very much look forward to a return visit, and another, and another, and another. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a dark and moody Tiki Room that completely makes you forget you're in Indianapolis on a cold December day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My drink had Passion Fruit in it and was so creamy and delicious. They have so many drinks to choose from, it would be a disservice to order the same thing twice but I just might have to. :) [[HIGHLIGHT]]Loved the overall vibe. The decor is realistic and the whole place is truly transformative.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The bartender was also great and did a good job checking in. Can't wait to return!
[[HIGHLIGHT]]Pretty large tiki bar that has multiple rooms and two floors.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor is lush and they have a great rum selection in addition to their tiki drink menu.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is approachable for casual drinkers and hardcore tiki geeks alike.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I came in for a night cap and wanted to check out what Indy had to offer in terms of tiki bars and saw that this place wasn't too far from where I had dinner. I came in and was able to sit at the bar right away. Since I just ate, I was just there for a drink, although they do have a - I wanna say Hawaiian influenced menu with tasty sounding bites. The bartender was very friendly and so were the other folks sitting at the bar. My go to usually is the painkiller when going to new tiki bars, but I ordered the Titillating Tart because I was intrigued with the pandan (and they had some other flavors similar to the painkiller). The drink was delicious and refreshing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]While having my drink, I saw that they do other events and activities that seemed like they would be a great time (if I were still in the area).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Just a great tiki bar and so glad I got to visit before I left town!
I got an issue of Imbibe Magazine that featured Indianapolis, so we took a weekend to try out their recommendations. I loved this place! [[HIGHLIGHT]]We got here early on a Saturday, so there was no crowd.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The cocktail options were super fun and they even had some rum that bottled for the Inferno room that we got - my husband loved it, so hopefully we'll get back there sometime and get a bottle (it was a high proof rum). [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor and the ambiance was great! 1,100 pieces of art from Papau New Guinea (the largest outside of the country).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]
[[HIGHLIGHT]]This was a really fun location to stop by with friends![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have main floor and upstairs seating available and it's spacious where you don't feel too close to those around you.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The lighting was decently dark but they had enough overhead lighting above the seating sections.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I thought it had a smaller selection of food that might not appeal to everyone. Appetizers and drinks seemed most popular. The rangoons and disco fries were amazing appetizers. The waiter was prompt and kind and very fun in explaining all the drink options- I liked that some drinks had a fun presentation when brought to the table
First visit to the famous Inferno Room and was not disappointed. We walked, but there is plenty of street parking. Brent, the GM, was also seating folks this early evening. He was friendly and unassuming as he seat us at the bar. Later he introduced himself and couldn't have been nicer. This establishment is lucky to have him. Quinn, our bartender, was friendly and knowledgeable. We order a few classics off the menu (mai tai and zombie). Both delicious! Didn't eat this visit, but there is food. I walked around to get a lay of the land. So many cool patios, back bars, upstairs nooks, and light filled stairwell. It wasn't packed at 5:30pm on a weekday which is what we hoped for. If you go on the weekend, get there early. The tiki mug selection is very good here. It was really hard to down select. They never repeat their mugs, so if you see one you like--get it. Swizzles, t-shirts, even rare rums are all for sale. We purchased a collab rum and a tiki mug. Can't wait to go back to see the great staff again and add to our tiki mug and rum collection.

Every sigle part of the place was decked out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It felt like I was walking into a speakeasy since you would never know from the outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They had a variety of tropical drinks to chose from. I did like my drink but thought it had more ice than my drink. Thye have food available and is a fun place to check out!

This was THE best bar I've visited while in Indy and I hit quite a few of them. Amazing vibes, beautiful art and great service, please do not miss this place!!! Kendall was awesome and pulled out all the stops for us. I mentioned I was from Guyana where they make El Dorado rum and she pulled out all of the various years they had. It was quite special and made me feel like we were at the right place at the right time. A moment I'll never forget, thank you Kendall! We got some food to munch on and it absolutely hit the spot! Cannot say more about this place- thank me later!
This is an amazing spot in Indianapolis!! Beautifully chill, cool and authentic decor, dark and moody, quaint and intimate spaces throughout, friendly service and great drinks and food! This was my first visit (I don't know how I hadn't been before)!!! I loved it all! The drinks are authentic and delish!! Great presentation on food and drinks and fun surprises all around--including a thunderstorm! We didn't see this but I have heard from a friend they can set off the thunderstorm for even more of a cool vibe! So grab a few friends (not for large parties and they don't take reservations) and enjoy some tiki vibes in fountain square!!

I found out Indy has a Tiki bar and this one seemed to be the popular one in the city so I decided to go. I went there late at night and by looking at the outside there was nothing that really stood out to me, BUT as soon as I stepped in it was a WHOLE vibe! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Their tiki bar experience from top to bottom was decked out in tiki figures and every tropical decor you can imagine, it definitely felt like I was walking into a Hawaiian resort.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The drinks were so fancy and they came in a fancy glass, tiki mug, or coconut shaped mug which I loved! I ordered the Tambaran Firedancer and I'm so glad I did, it came with a whole fire show and it tasted great. It had the right combination of alcohol and other juices. I also ordered the coconut cream pie and it was good. EDIT: My experience was so great that I came here again the next day and had an even better experience (didn't think they would too off the first one lol) The staff were so friendly and welcoming to me, they really made the night unforgettable! Second night I ordered the Corsair of Umbar and the basket of fries. The fries were amazing and definitely made my list of top five favorite fries!! The drink was good, but I wasn't a fan of the Fernet. Finding a parking space was easy since they have a parking lot, but the parking lot is pretty small. read more
Hmm, bummed to say I'm knocking my rating from a 5 to a 3 star based on the food. As some others have mentioned, they updated their menu since I came here last year and not for the better. I came with two friends a weekend ago and the waiter said how they had a new chef and new menu and how great it was! So, we tried the pollo boracho, which was... fine. I mean, it's just braised chicken with veggies, which is tasty, but I miss the Polynesian options they had a year ago... drinks were still excellent, and service was good! [[HIGHLIGHT]]We wanted to sit in chairs with backs and when they sat us at a table with stools, we asked and they didn't really offer a solution.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There were some highbacked chairs in the corner, but the table between them was small and low to the ground...[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I wish the waiter had just asked us to wait 15 minutes for someone to leave, but that was not an option, apparently. First dinner in Indianapolis as a temporary resident and it met every expectation, even at 11pm! Vieited on a Saturday night at around 11pm but was greeted and seated upon entering with no wait. Drink menu, dinner menu, and dessert menu all provide unique Hawaiin options that all taste fantastic! The decor and atmosphere are a bonus! (: read more

Fantastic tiki bar with multiple sections, two bars, and a second floor. I visited as part of their annual Makahiki event and was wowed by the decor, theming, extensive cocktail menu, and the overall vibe. The tropical bread pudding was deliciously rich and sinful, and the cocktails were spectacular. I adored all of the details, from the pufferfish lamps, to the octopus toilet paper holder in the ladies' room! Bravo to Inferno Room for curating such a cool space. Their employees deserve major accolades for managing such a high volume over the busy event weekend and for nearly 12 hours' worth of service! read more

Such a fun time with great food! We had been wanting to come here after I saw this place online. Having visited a really fun tiki bar in Vegas, now I want to try them all! The Inferno Room did not disappoint. The vibe is dark and tropical and you feel as though you could've just walked in from the beach, even in Indiana. The tiki drinks were strong and tasty and the food was really phenomenal. If you're a lightweight like me, definitely pace yourself! Food wise, hubs had the Duck Saimin which reminded us of a duck ramen. Limited amount of duck but a very savory and flavorful broth. I had the pineapple fried rice with chicken. Portion size was huge and I had to stop myself from devouring the entire plate then being miserable. It was soooo good! The ambiance is fun and the food is great, why not check it out? read more

WOW! Decor at this Tiki Bar was perfection. Loved how it all flowed together, yet had great separation in the different rooms. Service was very good. Drinks were delicious. We only had appetizers, and they were good as well. Will be back for sure! Also best priced Tiki Bar read more
We had a group for an after work outing and had such a fun time. The Fire Dancer drink comes out on fire and is sure to get a few "Ooos" and "Ahhhs" Karon the group. We all shared some whipped feta dip and crab rangoons and it was all so delicious! I got the wings as my meal and they were so good, too. I would love to try the other flavors next time. Perfect tiki themed restaurant First time at The Inferno Room and it was amazing! We went during a First Friday and got right away. So many drink selections! I loved the mocktail 'Coocoonut Grove'! I would go back just for that drink! We also got the chicharrones which were so tasty with the kimchi pimento. The service was so kind and fast! We'll definitely be back for drinks and apps! read more

Such a fun and unique spot--The Inferno Room totally exceeded my expectations! It has that classic tiki bar vibe with amazing decor, great music, and an atmosphere that feels like a mini escape right in the heart of Indy. The bartender was incredible--super knowledgeable and clearly passionate about what he does. You could tell every drink was crafted with care, and the cocktails were just as fun as the vibe itself. I've lived in Indy for years and somehow had never been before, but I'm so glad I finally checked it out. Highly recommend to anyone looking for something fun, different, and full of character. This place is so interesting! We came for the fancy cocktails and they did not disappoint. They have fancy mocktails on their menu, which makes me want to come back even more! There are two bars on the ground level and more seating upstairs. Highly recommend taking a look around at all the Papa New Guinea art. The owners put a lot of effort into the decor giving this place its own vibe. We had excellent service and will definitely come back! read more

Came here for a birthday, staff was inviting and accommodating to our table requests. I'm not normally a fan of fancy drinks, but their cocktails were amazing! The presentation and complex flavors were truly a treat! The only reason for the lower stars was the poke bowl was far from appetizing. It was majority rice with little to no flavor. All in all the rest of our meals and appetizers were of a reasonable quality. It's apparent the focus is on the drinks and they crushed it! read more
TIR like a must go to spot while out in the Fountain Square area. Whether you need a rally moment or not I think nothing gets a night going like a good tiki bar. This spot is expansive so you will usually find plenty of room for your party, tons of cool seating. You can order the traditional drinks or go for exclusive fountain square drinks - all are good. read more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The Inferno Room has a great atmosphere and the drinks were definitely a strong point.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The rangoons were also very good. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience fell short. The service was noticeably slower. While the salmon had good flavor, the accompanying noodles were completely inedible. More concerning, I ended up sick the next day after eating the salmon. I would not return nor recommend. read more
This is my second time here and all I can say is - the only thing working harder than the decor is the ice machine! The amount of ice in the drinks results in ~3 oz of drink for $13-14. The drinks are tasty and tropical, but VERY underwhelming. I wish they were worth getting. You walk in and it feels like an entirely new world, but they took it a bit too far. I did not fully understand what I was walking int to. My friend suggested it and said it was a tiki bar so of course I was down. The outside is very nondescript. We actually walked past it the first time. But the skull-themed border around the door is a giveaway. I expected a few palm fronds and theme-y drinks but when we walked in we were transported to the islands. Their website says they have the largest collection of Papua New Guinea native art outside of a museum. The drink menu is a little overwhelming but I'm sure you can't go wrong. I had the Coocoonut Grove mocktail and it was definitely the best mocktail, cocktail, beverage of any kind I've ever had. I wasn't sure about cinnamon with coconut but it definitely goes together. The table next to us ordered the firewalker drink and it was a whole tableside experience. We just ordered an appetizer since we were going to dinner later. The disco fries were hot, salty, and delicious. The staff were friendly and we got our foods and drinks quickly. I truly felt like I was on vacation, so I'll be back! read more

Stopped in for celebratory birthday drinks this weekend, loved the tiki vibes! This place has a unique history, courthouse/ jail turned tiki bar... took a mini tour before leaving, the tiki vibes continued to an outdoor patio(not yet set up) - looking forward to summer cocktails! The Inferno Room is Fountain Square's go-to Tiki Bar, but the food is not to be missed either. The atmosphere is laid back, dark, and mysterious. There are lots of little nooks and crannies so all the dining feels private. The servers are casual and it's a great energy for introverts alike. The menu is a rotating fun, creative menu that boosts in-season produce and sources local when possible with a fun Tiki twist. Most of the items have some heat, just keep this in mind. They do not have a separate fryer for seafood, etc so if you have allergies double-check with your server on what's safe. They also have a lot of veggie options. They have a wide variety of rum including locally made 18th street distillery rum and Three Floyd's rums. I finally found a daiquiri I liked, Three Floyd's Rum - honey simple - lime. Absolute perfection and doesn't taste like an artificially flavored overly sweet gas station drink. Perfect for date night or a casual burger at the bar. read more
I've been to The Inferno Room before but it is ALWAYS a hit with me! The drinks are pieces of art, and they are generous with their liquor pours. The staff is always attentive and I've never had to wait for a private, fairly secluded table. The atmosphere is fun and transports you right out of Indiana, amazing attention to detail. And now they offer more of a menu instead of just appetizers, which I am here for! We just had a basket of fries this time but they were PERFECTION! Hot, crisp...not oily. There wasn't any sign on the door so had no idea what I was getting myself into. We walked in and I was totally knocked out by how amazing the whole place looked. I was blown away. It looked a bit imposing but was so exquisite. We were seated upstairs, overlooking the entryway. Everyone was very casual. The seating in the corner had a low table and high back chairs. The cocktail drinks we ordered were absolutely beautiful with edible flowers adorning the tall glass. It was filled with too much ice and not enough drinkable drink for the price. Not sure I'll order any of those again. The main course was a poki bowl of sushi with shrimp chips... which was a lot different than what I expected. I doubt I'll order it again but it was fine. My SO ordered the Szechuan green beans which were so delicious that I'd go back just for that. It was not as spicy as I feared but packed with flavor. I'm excited about going back again with more friends. read more

The ambiance is fun for a date night, but a little dark when you're out with friends. I love the drinks, and the food I've tried is good, if slightly overpriced for what it is. Service was standard. This is a go to for a Fountain Square date night drink with my hubby. read more

Check their instagram for most up to date info. They shut down twice for stuff testing and safety. Closed Sunday and Monday always.
Do they have any weekday specials?
We were in during the week and I honestly cannot remember any food or drink specials offered - and I'm pretty sure they don't have them any day of the week unless they're unadvertised. However, there ARE off menu drink offerings - ask about them. :)
