What's left of the Tortellini Alfredo pie.
Brian K.

I almost hate to mention it, as I kinda think of it like a secret. It's an off menu item. Tortellini Alfredo Pizza. I'm typically not a fan of white pizza's, but this pie is da bomb!! The tortellini gets a little browned while in the pizza oven, and the Alfredo sauce gives the pizza a very rich bite. Was hard to eat 2 slices.

The food is hit or miss, sometimes it's good, sometimes it isn't. The staff is always busy, to the point they forget someone is standing at the register for a few seconds. But besides that it is a typical Italian restaurant/pizzeria.

I thought it was a place where you ordered at the counter but one of the staff invited us to sit down and said he would take our order at the table. They have a very big menu with a lot of options, something for every italian lol. I couldn't help ordering some garlic bread because it was just $5 and it was literally the size of my head. Very good, did not disappoint. Overall I found prices to be very reasonable. I split a Margherita pizza with my Aunt and it was piping hot when it came out of the oven. Also tasted very good. They don't have any fountain drinks or tap water, you have to grab any drink from a drink fridge which I think was the only disappointment. It's a causal place, they had some TVs on in the restaurant and they also have some seating outdoors. Two single bathrooms, one for each gender. Not a place where I think you'll find a ton of vegan options.

Sort of a light, fluffy dough, but crispy? Not thick like a focaccia or heavy like Sicilian, but also, not unlike those two? It's not New York Style. My sister-in-law loves to get their salad with grilled chicken. They give you a lot of chicken (this is takeout, we do both). It's nicely grilled and seasoned. I got the linguini Alfredo because they have that big wheel of cheese, and I think they make it in the wheel? Again, this was takeout. Not my favorite thing I've ordered there. But again, it's a pizza place, get pizza. The staff is really nice. I mean it's young people (I'm very old), like college age, which in my opinion can be hit or miss. You know they like to make those TikTok dances. That's all they care about. But these kids are uniformly friendly and customer-focused. Nice kids. And the place is cute inside.

I asked if they had more cheese coming out and they showed me the full tray of cheese and said they had some. I asked for a fresh slice but instead they went for the lone dried one under the glass. When I asked if I could get a fresh slice another employee came up to me and said I couldn't and that the batch of pies on the racks behind all came out at the same time a while ago. Huh? I asked again if I could simply get a fresh one from the trays behind him and was told no. Weird flex but okay -wow. I said no thanks and simply went to pay for a water bottle for my son. The manager asked if he was ringing me up for a water and a slice to which I replied "No they refused to serve me a fresh slice"- thinking he would have a focus on customer service and even remedy this. Nope. Just replied with "So just the water then?" Disappointing. There was no line, no rush. Any decent slice shop will proactively tell you to wait a few min for a fresh pie but this place didn't seem to care even when asked. Sadly, I have been here before and enjoyed the slices but we won't be returning any more. Save your money for a place that actually values customers.

Their Greek salad slice is heavenly & add to that their own recipe for a side of Italian vinaigrette- wow, you've got to try it! I'm a stickler for plain & pepperoni slices - but you can't go wrong w any style slice/pie! For the pepperoni slices/pie that add the PERFECT AMOUNT of pepperoni- and you can ask for very little crust or a lot! They provide the most personal experience when it comes to choosing what you want on your pizza, they aim to please! All the guys behind the counter are such a joy, when you walk in everyone says hello & they remember your name too! The owner (Louis, I think) has a passion for making real authentic Italian cuisine. Among the service, the product, the cleanliness, price & order time (so fast) I give Villafe "Trat. 5 stars- you don't need to drive k to Manhattan for a real taste of NYC pizza! Just remember on Fri & Sat night, put your order in early bc they are super busy, just what you would expect from a superior pizza/italian food restaurant. Those are the reasons they are my go-to pizza place! Oh & my sons absolutely RAVE about their buffalo chicken slices/pizza. And they are generous w all their toppings (if you like), courteous & just the right amount of friendliness . You should def try them out, you won't be disappointed! !

I ordered pickup and drove around the street a few times looking for "Antico Arturo" and didn't see it. I wasted 15 minutes of my life looking for it, calling the place in Red Bank to see if my order was being made down there, then going back and walking into La Pastaria to ask if they sell under the name Antico Arturo. (It's not like there's anything on the sign of door or windows indicating if you ordered Antico Arturo that you've come to the right place.) The lady told me yes. I asked if they were changing the name of the store. She told me no. I asked why they sell under the other name. "We just do." Oh, cool. Anyway the food is edible but not much more than that. Pizza tasted fairly close to high school pizza. It is nothing like the picture you see on the Antico Arturo website. I guess that's the one you get in Red Bank. Also they charge $21 for it and this pizza was like a small personal pizza size, maybe 12 inches. The picture online looks like a big nice pizza. It's completely false advertising. I don't know how this place gets away with it.

There was a significant amount of bread "hangage" because of the small size of the cutlet. I asked for extra sauce on the side, which I didn't get, but that wasn't a big deal because the chicken was cooked perfectly and not dry. Though it would've been nice to have the sauce to dip the extra bread in. Pasta salad is great! The veggies are still Al dente and the vinaigrette that it's tossed in is lovely. I'll be back. *Pasta salad could have been packaged separately.

Wonder if it is worth ordering? Here's the deal. Wonder promises iconic chefs and top restaurants…read more It would be kind to call this hyperbole. If you enjoy eating at the Cheesecake Factory or Chili's or Olive Garden you will be very happy eating food from Wonder. It is a solid food experience. (Although I did not care for the escarole&artichoke. Woefully under-seasoned. The good thing about Wonderful is that they offer food from a "variety" of "different" "celebrity" restaurants. So if you want tacos and your wife wants Greek food or pizza, this is a good one stop one delivery charge. And another good thing is a wide variety of beverages and desserts and a children's menu. The truth of the matter is that they approached a bunch of famous chefs and licensed their names and then they dumbed down their menu so that they could make it fast and easy with competent kitchen staff as opposed to trained culinary professionals. I ordered the DiFara pizza. I have been to DiFara's pizza when the original guy was still alive trimming the basil from the plants on his window sill. This was not a DiFara pizza. As I type this that man is not just turning over in his grave he is whirling like a dervish. They were nice enough to include the instructions on the pizza box. It starts with 1 square pie shell. I don't think they use frozen pie shells at DiFaras. If you bought Air Jordans and thought you would play basketball like Micheal Jordan you are in for another disappointing experience. If you want a variety of decent food, competently prepared? Have at it.
