This location is in Luzern Bahnhof and it's actually better than the location in Zürich Bahnhof. They have more selections here. There were two Frisch schoggi kinds I was trying to get but didn't find while in Zürich: Dubai chocolate, and vegan cashew. My favorite Frisch schoggi slabs I get all the time are vegan cashew (tastes and melts just like regular chocolate), hazelnut, and cornflakes. Add their Dubai chocolate to that list - you won't find it at all Laderach locations though. They have limited/ seasonal Frisch schoggi. In May, they had banana split. It's delicious so, I got a slab of that too. I got some truffles and mini mousses. I grabbed individually-wrapped chocolates for my friends. On my first day in Luzern, I went to this location twice. I first came here in the morning before going to the hotel. I was minding my own business taking pictures of the chocolates. The employee behind the counter was like "don't a picture of me". Girl, I have no reason to take your picture! I left. I came back in the afternoon for my chocolate break and that employee wasn't there anymore. I took pictures and the afternoon shift employee wasn't giving me samples left and right and was super nice and helpful. So, I bought chocolates from her.

We escaped inside with a sigh of relief. There were lots of baked goodies to choose from (even though late in the afternoon) and a relatively large seating area in the back. They have way more stuff here and they also carry other brands of chocolates. Not to mention the chocolate wall they're famous for. They have chocolates, ice cream, pastries, sandwiches and savory food. The chocolate wall is fun to watch for a few seconds and you're back to shopping for chocolates. Since this is a big location, you would think they would have employees behind every section but they don't. O wanted to get truffles but there was nobody there. I waited for a minutes but nobody came. So, I moved on and grabbed a bar of chocolate instead and paid for it at the sandwich counter. It's big, spacious even though it got crowded, well-stocked and organized.

I picked up a few small boxes of chocolates including the cute little piggies. I'm glad an employee warned me some of the chocolates have alcohol because I most definitely was not paying attention. I had a phase when I liked chocolates with liqueur filling and I'm over that phase. They have an area to order ice cream from, an area with a selection of chocolates, a counter where you can order food to-go, and a cafe if you want to sit down and enjoy a drink and food. I noticed in Switzerland, they only have 1-3 employees at chocolate shops. 1 employee if it's a small chocolate shop that also serves hot chocolate/ coffee. 2 employees if it's a bigger shop that also serves hot chocolate/ coffee. 3 employees if they also have a small cafe section. This Heini location only had 2: one was running the cafe section, and one was running around the ice cream section, chocolate and to-go counter. My coke came with a tiny pitcher of lemon juice to add if I wanted.to have a citrus flavor. My waffle was crispy and light topped with fresh fruit: sliced bananas, kiwi and strawberries! A Bakery with good food at the Café…read more This is a place I visit frequently. It's inside one of the bigger malls around (Emmen Center - easily accessable by public transportation). It's part of a bigger franchise with lots of stores in the town of Lucerne. They do sell pastries, bread, sandwiches and much more here. The pastries and desserts are average, but the bread really good. But we always come here to have lunch in the attached Café / restaurant (dogs allowed). You wouldn't expect much from it, but it serves really good food. Easy stuff like Nuggets, fries and hot sandwiches. But very good are the Pizzas and the Pasta. Service is fine. You order at the counter and you pick up your food yourself when it's ready....and it's ready pretty fast, even when the place is packed. Pizza with the hot salami (hot peperoni) is mostly my choice. Sometimes I go for the a bit more adventurous Pizza with Pineapple and Curry. But also the pasta is very well made. Pesto Ravioli for example....great choice. Comes with the nice pesto sauce, permesan cheese and a good load of pine nuts on top. Small portion (about 10-12 pieces) cost about 12 CHF. Pizza are between 11 and 13 CHF. So it is actually a pretty cheap place to eat....and it's better than many restaurants around (or in Lucerne). Like I said, we come here frequently....and the quality is always good, they have a good standard and you won't be disappointed.

Let's hope for the good old days to come back one day when this crisis is over. But if you are familiar with their products, then there's not reason to sample. We bought two big shopping bags full of their stuff. Here are our favourites: Sweet choices: - Bretzeli: The classic. Thin, crispy and buttery - Butterfly: so thin it really could fly away by the first sign of wind...and what a buttery flavour! - Caprice: a very nice and crumbly with a heavy (but good) almond flavour - Mandelcaramel: perfect mix between sugar, honey, almond and chocolate Salty choices: - Les Ficelles au Fromage et aux Légumes: crispy snack with veggie and cheese flavour, goes good with a glass of beer - Les Ficelles au Romarin et au Fromage: the same, but with rosemary and cheese - Les Ficelles aux Tomates et Fines Herbes: more of the same, but with herbs and tomatoes Lots of good stuff here. We found that learning the history of the company really enriched our experience. The little coffee shop is nicely done and on our second visit we took time to relax and try some new drinks. One of our boys ordered a drink with elderberry syrup in it and he loved it. Of course coffee was also very good but there are other creative offerings on the menu that are worth trying.
