Large and beautiful nursery greenhouse. Bachman lives for it big name and the Twin Cities. This location is the biggest and largest store in compares to their other smaller store locations. They have plenty of parking and many entrances and inside they have many sections, one for gifts, and the other is for greenhouse and then garden needs. They have a lot of variety of selections and a great place to go and stroll. The price point is a hit or miss some are pricey and some are decently marked, depends on what you're looking for and what you're buying. This location here is where they held their annual garden show. They even have a restaurant inside. Very nice big store very clean and a lot of nice and friendly staffs. Went here for their annual Daylily sale and wow! I was very impressed with the selection of barefoot Daylily's they had! The color variations were so good! The flowers are well taken care of so when you purchase them they are literally ready to be planted! Their prices? Let's just say that they are crazy good! This event is open to the public and if you are any type of gardener, you'll want to put the daylily sale on your calendar! It happens once a year! read more

Bachman's is a plant-lover's nursery. It's also a great place for anyone who loves to have a beautiful indoors as well thanks to the awesome home section. We always have fun exploring, no matter what we're shopping for. This time around, we were shopping for our Christmas tree and happened to come during their sale, so we saved some money. There were tons of trees to choose from--both size and type--and it was easy to find someone to help us when we found The One. They trimmed the trunk, brought it to the front, and loaded it into our car, so it was easy as pie (and boy did it smell awesome). read more

Drove all the way from the Maple Grove area to see this Bachman's which isn't supposed to close until 5pm, walked up to the door and apparently they didn't feel like working because they decided to close down at 3pm due to the roads. If I can drive all the way from the Maple Grove area in my little 2014 Hyundai Elantra they can stay open. All the other businesses in the area were open. What a waste of my time and gas money. This place is dangerous for plant lovers! So much to enjoy. Perhaps too much- the gift selection is so large it's a bit overwhelming. We stopped in because a friend had read that the Santa and Albert show was fun for all ages. I could not get over the size of the crowd for that event - the only part of our visit that felt crowed. TBH, the show is geared for kids and I would not recommend unless you are bringing children. I know they try to incorporate humor to make it tolerable for adults, but it is not worth seeing sans kids. I am still so happy that my friend dragged me there. I love plants and they have such a wonderful selection. I was looking for a few replacement air plants and they had an excellent, reasonably priced selection. In general, I was surprised and happy at how reasonably priced the houseplants were as well as the seasonal plants. The Christmas tree prices were a bit high, but I think that is true everywhere. The staff was well-versed on all things plants and I appreciated all the plant advice posted throughout the store, including sheets with the advice that you could take away with you. There's a ton of decor and gift ideas for many different tastes. Those prices were about average to a bit higher compared to a typical gift store. I'd visit this store for the plants, but the gifts were not different enough to warrant a special trip. read more

Experience with this business very poor. Ordered a tulip arrangement couple weeks ago for sister having surgery. She received a floral arrangement different than what I ordered, intended for someone named Kaci. My sister phoned within a day or two and was told they'd refund me. Two weeks later no refund so called them, was first told to seek redress through PayPal but told the nice woman that PayPal app directed me to them, the merchant. Then said she needed management guidance but they were gone for the day and she'd call me next day (today). Instead i get an email from "customer service" (an apparent misnomer) with a photo of the wrong flowers at my sisters door, telling me to call if I still have concerns. I am not impressed. If they straighten this out I may upgrade to like 2 stars, but not feeling optimistic so far. read more

This review is for Bachman's Landscape and Garden Maintenance Services: Because of health issues, I contracted with Bachman's for garden maintenance, specifically Spring cleanup. A customer services representative visited my yard in April and we completed a contract for the work. Unfortunately, Bachman's has trouble figuring out what season we're in, because they did not return to do my "Spring Cleanup" until June 5th! And when the workers did arrive, it was apparent that they hire 3rd party vendors -- not actually Bachman's staff -- because they did not know a perennial from a weed and ripped out perennials from 4 garden beds in my yard. To replace them, it cost me personally over $200. For the final affront, because of vague and deceptive billing practices, I was over billed for the labor, and provided no recourse for any sort of credit. What I thought would be a great experience with a reputable business turned into a disaster for me. DO NOT USE BACHMAN"S FOR GARDENING MAINTENANCE SERVICES! read more

we ordered the Amazing Grace dish garden for our sister's funeral and what a disappointment that was for what they charged for this arrangement. No way that was as big as the description they gave, the container was tiny, the plants were tiny-granted they will grow, but it really made a poor showing that day for the funeral. Be very careful ordering anything on line that you cannot physically inspect. We'd have been better off ordering from a local little florist. read more

What I assume to be the "main" Bachman's locale, this is the largest store and can cover your plant, garden, gift, and even food needs! Came here during the holiday season, and while it was definitely busy, there's lots of parking and the store is so spacious that it doesn't feel crowded. There are spaces for more gift type items and the garden center gir plants and other items like that. Then there's also a small Cafe with coffee, pastries, and some light food items. So many options for shopping! The biggest downfall is location - getting in and out of the parking lot is not easy. Sign up for the rewards program and get coupons! read more

After placing an order to deliver a plant; the recipient never got it. All information was correct. No one called to tell me it was not delivered. They offered to deliver the order the next day, but when I asked them to waive the delivery charge of $19.00 they refused but offered a credit of $19.00. I canceled the order. I have used Bachman's for Spring and summer landscaping maintenance for years. This year, for whatever reason, the customer service from the Senior Sales Consultant/Designer fell off an absolute cliff. Timeline: 3/23 - I reached out letting them know a pine in the landscaping had died, and wanted someone to come look at the space and make suggestions on what would work 3/26 - Hadn't heard back, so I followed up 4/1 - Got a response, and an apology for the delay, telling me to send pictures (no acknowledgement of coming out to visit as I asked), and asking me to send back the annual maintenance contract) 4/8 - Got back from Spring break, sent several pictures of the space 4/17 - Hadn't heard back, followed up with the maintenance contract and said I was also following up from 4/8 because no one responded 4/18 - Followed up again, asking if I should work with someone else there 4/22 - Left them a VM and sent an email 4/23 - Left another VM and sent an email again 4/24 - Finally got a call back (16 days after the 4/8 email), and during the call, was asked to send pictures of the space (which I sent on 4/8). Was told they would talk to their tree person and get back to me shortly 5/2 - Sent them an email asking if they had heard from their tree person 5/6 - Followed up, still hadn't gotten a response 5/8 - Another follow up, no response 5/10 - Another follow up, no response 5/12 - Finally responded with another apology 5/14 - Told them I wanted to just go with some ornamental grasses, and asked for suggestions 5/16 - They responded and said maybe they should come look at the space (what I originally asked on 3/23...) 5/18 - Told them I'm just going with the maintenance and asked when that would be 5/22 - Followed up with same question 5/27 - Followed up, again with same question 5/27 - Was told their maintenance person would follow up with a date. I responded to that email with that persons email and asked about timeline 5/30 - Followed up with that person again 6/2 - Followed up again 6/4 - Followed up again, and wrote a very scathing email. Amazingly, no one responded, but then I got an automated email telling me they were coming on 6/10 6/5 - Fed up, told them I am cancelling. Instantly got an email response that I was supposed to be scheduled 2 weeks ago (which would have been before the Senior Sales Consultant/Designer told me someone would let me know when it would be scheduled). If this seems long and outrageous, imagine how it felt trying to chase them down and getting zero acknowledgment throughout. Easily the worst customer service experience I have ever had. Will never work with them again, and will never shop there again. Plenty of other businesses who would do it right. read more

So, let's see, what does one hope for in a florist? I want professional, knowledgeable employees who are both cheerful and helpful as I place an order over the phone from a far away place. When I called, at first I was a little skeptical because the phone prompt sent me to their "order center." I was pleasantly surprised when a very helpful lady answered my call and was able to efficiently get all the way from the order in my brain all the way to the placed order in 10 minutes! We ended up choosing a plant that will be healthy and vibrant for years to come with only minimal fuss! She even recommended a slightly larger pot that has a water reservoir to make watering a cinch! I have been to this Bachman's location several times over the years and this review covers my experience on 4/20/23 around 5pm. The store was clean, well-organized, and vast. I've never been to such a large green house with everything you need for gardening, lawn care, houseplants, etc. The staff were kind and helpful, and helped me find what I needed for some succulents. Their prices are very fair, and I love the wide variety of houseplants that they carry. They even have a little cafe/patisserie for a quick meal or snack! I learned during this visit that this location hosts several seminars and workshops, and many are free to attend! All in all, a great experience and I look forward to visiting again. read more

As a florist, I adore flowers and always want them to be perfect. As a Minnesota native, I visit Bachman's when I'm in town. Their (non-perishable) gift items are always inspiring and unique. Living out of state, I didn't hesitate to call them, when ordering a funeral bouquet for my mom's service. Luckily, her favorite flower was available, this made my decision so much easier. I'm surprised I've never reviewed Bachmans. I have been a customer for decades, and I always expect higher quality from them, and typically get it. For example when I buy seedlings for my vegetable garden, if they died, I got my money back. Same with perennials, if they don't come back the next year. I believe there are some rules around that, you have to save your pot and bring it back or something, but I've always been really happy. The other really great thing about this Bachman's is their community support. They allow garden groups to use their meeting space for free if they are putting on a display that benefits the public. And they have donated gift cards to our nonprofit to distribute amongst our most dedicated volunteers. To top it all off, I am always impressed with the customer service. A couple of weeks ago I needed irises for Art In Bloom. None of the wholesalers in town had them or could even get them. Diane seemed super eager to help, and called her buyer and got us not just the purple irises but yellow ones too! She saved our Art In Bloom! Thanks Diane! And thanks Bachman's! read more

Bachman's is always a beautiful place to explore, but it is has a special type of beauty during the holiday season. They now have a self guided tour filled with spruce tops, winter greens, decorative accents, and more. There are over 10 stops along the tour. Each stop has a different display and theme. From outdoor firepits to indoor table settings, the tour had it all. My friend and I reminisced about the days of going to Macy's Holiday Display. This was similar, but with plants! We found great gifts for ourselves as well as others. I even created an "it list" for gift inspiration. The unique ornaments and gnome décor immediately caught my eye and were added to that list. read more

This is the best Bachman's in the city, maybe one of the best nurseries in the city too. With the corporate office located here; seasonal merchandise and plants are always top notch. You can compare to big box stores and yes the price is a little more, but the quality is better too. The outdoor space is huge, (not quite as big as Gertens) and I'm sure you're only seeing a portion of their inventory. Big plus is the creativity and variety with their holiday items, gift options and just overall shopping selection for indoor/outdoor stuff. They do a great job on that, "I bought this but don't really need it factor". Great place to walk around and enjoy some greenery. I have been collecting cactus and succulents and I'm learning. I have been going to Bockmans for over 40 some years. I got a cactus there when I got back from Vietnam in 1975. It was 4 inches tall a dollar in inch I paid four dollars. It is now 12 to 13 feet high And doing great and I have cut off stems and given them to people and theirs are doing great and I have one I cut off at 4 inches and it is now at 5 feet. I have been going into Bachman's florist. So I go in there and I want to see their horticulturist and get some advice on placement and how to arrange my 75 or more cactus and succulents. Twice they have brought out this burly guy who doesn't seem to care about coming out and dealing with customers. He acts like you're intruding and it is a hassle for him to come out. He's rude and keep saying is there anything I can help you with? And I will say yes is there anyway I could get one of your specialists out to my house and help me arrange them in my sunroom? To which he says no we don't offer that service anything else I can help you with and then he wants to leave. He's rude abrupt and I am done shopping there and the high school girls I have working behind the counter are rude, privileged high school girls. The one gives me a dirty look and I said don't be rude to the customer and she says you're the one being rude! To which I replied I'm just trying to get and find out if they offer a service. I will never shop there again. Yes I was rude because I would like some customer service. The adult people that have helped me there before are great! Absolutely fabulous. But the specialist that guy with the burly beard, which I also have a burly beard, and the young people that work there are just pieces of.... So I am done with Bachman's! And in the past six months, I have probably spent three to $4000. The next closer place is more expensive, but I will let them know the how to keep my business. Plant-lovers unite! My roommate and I ended up at Bachman's since we saw that it was dog-friendly and we brought our furry friend. This location is huge with tons of plant options no matter what you're looking for. I was looking for some succulents, but ended up also bringing home some flowers since they had a BOGO promotion going on! They also have so many types of pots, soils, and plant foods. This made it so easy to find exactly what I was looking for all in one place. The staff was friendly and even gave us tips on how to keep animals safe around plants. The spring I bought several flats of annuals and a Mandeville and gardenia to put in my backyard. What I didn't realize was the Mandeville was completely covered with spider mites. I should have cut it way back and bomb the hell out of it with pesticides, or just taken the loss and thrown it away. Instead I planted it far away from everything and have had to spray it non-stop all summer. Even doing that it barely blooms and the leaves are regularly covered with webbing. My gardenia tree had some spider mites that I have been able to sort of control with the same regiment of regular spraying but this just has been a nightmare. read more

Bachman's is a paradise for plant lovers. It feels like a tropical oasis in the middle of winter. It's nice to see green leaves in February. The space is huge and there's a good selection of plants considering the time of the year! There's a decent variety of pots. I only wish there were more succulent planters. Nevertheless, there are so many options. I like how they separated plants due to their light requirements. Customer service was good. Everyone was friendly and you can tell they all got green thumbs. Flowers are perishable so florists need to sell quickly and make a profit to satisfy the amount of spoiled product. That being said Bachman's has some decent sale prices sometime, but that doesn't explain some of the mark up on common home and garden goods. There is a good selection of top shelf items which I suppose we happily pay for because we want it so bad for our garden. During the Winter Farmer's Market sale, there is a new normal for what constitutes a 'Farmer's Market'. Produce? Plants? Veggies? You gotta be kidding. Small jars of honey for $17.99, Candles $10.99 for a 4-pack, Bratwurst on a simple Wonder Bread type bun $8.00..you get the idea. read more

Wow, this place is huge! Found myself wandering around Bachman's on a freezing February day. Too much snow, too many cold days, just needed to think about how ONE DAY, it will be spring. Anyhow, this place is huge and pleasant. Tons of gift items, houseplants, fresh flowers and garden supplies. It smells good inside because of all the plants. There is a cafe selling sandwiches and coffee off to the side. The whole experience was really nice, and a great escape from the endless winter we are having. I can't even imagine how crazy this place is during the growing season, there look to be a number of huge greenhouses that I'd imagine are filled with goodies in the spring and summer. read more
