So much fun and absolutely gorgeous views. We had a private party of 8 people and we all had an amazing time. The snowmobiles are easy and fun to ride and the views are incredible. We debated between going here and Wasatch Excursions and while both seemed great, I was really glad we chose Backcountry. The views here are just incredibly, unbelievably scenic. A couple people in our group were locals and even they were blown away by the trip and said this was the most scenic location. Also, you can rent a full set of snow gear including boots for $12 a person. The gear was clean and very worth it. I was warm the whole trip and with the cold and wind chill from riding the snowmobiles, you will need it; especially if you are from a warm, snowless place like me. Lastly, AJ was our guide and he was so much fun. I normally don't like guided excursions but with AJ I would choose going with him over an unguided tour 100% of the time. He's fun, helpful, kind and he lets you do your thing. He was our only guide but if the other guides are even half as good as him, you're in great hands. read more

Awesome experience! Hubby and I booked a 2 hour tour. It was my first time... We were the only two on the tour and were very well taken care of. I picked it up quickly and we both really enjoyed speeding up and playing around off trail! Even with less snow than usual, the views are beautiful. Highly recommended for anyone! read more

This seems like it would be a great place to go snowmobiling. My boyfriend and I made reservations with them during our stay in Park City because they advertised free shuttle service on their website. When we called to arrange a shuttle, they said they would not pick us up for only one reservation. Make sure they're willing to pick you up before making your reservation. Luckily, they were willing to give us a refund and half our deposit back. read more

This tour is perfect for ALL ages and adventure levels. You have the opportunity to play around and drive fast in a meadow with great bumps! The time in the meadow also gives timid riders a chance to get comfortable with the snow mobile. The ride through the forest is peaceful with beautiful views throughout the ride. I recommend giving yourself some distance from the rider in front of you so you can really enjoy the scenery. The snow mobiles are high quality. They are easy and comfortable to ride. Backcountry has a nice set up with everything you will need. Our guide was friendly, helpful, and laid back. read more

Went out on a Sunday morning trip. Brad was our guide. I took my girlfriend (who is a bit of a chicken) along as well as a ride-along. What an incredible experience. Feet of dry sparkly powder. The first part of the trip was along this beautiful trail with incredible rockfaces. We then stopped in a large flat field and my girlfriend had an opportunity to try driving as well. Brad was a great guide; informative, witty and generally a happy person. His dawgs are incredibly friendly as well. Ended up going up the mountain a good way and got to lay fresh tracks and go off trail for a while. I've been snowmobling previously (in Tahoe) and this was an actual adventure. My previous experience was akin to a duckling following behind its mother and being frequently told to 'slow down'. Get in line, etc, etc, etc. None of the latter with these guys. Great experience. What better way to spend an off day from the slopes than snowmobiling through the Utah backcountry. The drive out to Backcountry snowmobiling was pretty easy and offered some great views along E Chalk Creek Rd. We had a pretty large group (6 total) most of whom have never been on a snowmobile before. Dan, our guide, was a really chill guy and made sure everyone was comfortable before heading out. Throughout the tour he made sure to stop and take pics of us and tell us about the area. I asked him, 'What do you call this area?' His response, 'Beautiful'. Good stuff. We did the 3 hour tour, which I think is a great length because it takes a little bit of getting used to riding the snowmobile. And with the 3 hour tour, it gives you time to adjust and then to let it rip on those trails. The highlights were the stunning views of the Utah backcountry and then the open areas of fresh powder where we were allowed to just have fun with the snowmobiles. If you're in the area and looking for an activity for your off-day, I highly recommend Backcountry snowmobiling. Oh, and if you bring your gopro, they have helmets with the adhesive mounts already, very convenient! read more

We had a wonderful experience yesterday with backcountry snowmobiling. Brad, the owner kept my mom informed last week on there not being enough snow to go and rescheduled us until after a snowstorm hit a few days later. We stopped in Coalville on the way there and had breakfast at Rodriguez Polar King. We were surprised to find anything open early on a Sunday morning, but glad it was, very good food and large portions at low prices. Once arriving to the place, the guys were very helpful and had all the gear there. Next time I wouldn't even bother wearing any of my own, just wear there's at 2 dollars an item, it's all in great shape and keeps you dry and warm. The snowmobile handles even put out heat, it was awesome. Brad and Dan were both our guides that day which are both super friendly and informative. We went at a good pace and stopped a good amount of times to take pictures and take a break. At one point, there was a big open field they let us race around in, quite fun! I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for something fun to do in the snow. Expect your shoulders to be sore the next day if you don't do this often is the only bum thing about it. We went on the 2 hour tour with Jacob and had a great time. I'd never been on a snowmobile and my boyfriend has quite a bit. The trails were easy enough for me to pick it up quickly but there were plenty of opportunities to ride faster and play around. Jacob did a great job teaching me to use the snowmobile. We did the 3 hour tour and had 14 in our group. I thought it would be too much, but it wasn't. They supplied all outerwear if you needed something. It was very adventurous, not for small children. Guides pushed us through newly powdered trails but kept us safe. I would also recommend driving your own sled. Very bumpy so the rear rider would be uncomfortable. Loved the FREE pickup and delivery back, which was 40 minutes each way. Such a great experience! read more

This was first time snowmobiling and I was shocked and disappointed by this company's lack of concern for safety. My group paid for a guide to teach how to ride and also keep us safe. He succeed in the first part of his job, but not with latter. After snowmobiling for about 20 minutes he allowed us to have free time where we went in a loop. Part of this loop included a steep drop, almost like a jump, we had not been warned about. I went over this jump at the average speed of about 30 mph unaware of the drop ahead. When I landed my helmet popped off and I smacked my head into the front of the snowmobile. I was pretty shaken up and was later diagnosed with whiplash. My guide told me that my helmet had been on wrong and when he looked at the others in my group, who are all minors like me and who's parents trusted this company, he realized all the helmets were put on incorrectly. At the beginning of the day we had not been told that the helmets were difficult to clip and they had not been checked before we began to ride. I became increasingly disappointed with backcountry after I called the company to suggest the guides check the helmets before the riders go on the trail. The man I spoke to told me that I should have known to ask for help and know my helmet was on incorrectly. His lack of concern for this safety flaw makes me even more worried for his future clients. read more

I was incredibly excited to snowmobile for the first time and was very disappointed in the lack of concern for safety this company showed. I was apart of a group who had paid for an instructor to show us how to snowmobile and keep us safe. While he was a good guide he did not go over any of the safety precautions before we began to ride. During the trip we had the opportunity to drive around in circles. Part of this loop included a drop that the instructor had not warned us about and it acted as a jump. Unaware of this drop, I went over it at the average speed. I then fell down and landed hard on the snowmobile. My helmet had popped off and my head slammed against the front of the snowmobile. I had assumed my helmet was on correctly because I had no reason to assume other wise. The guide did not explain that this helmet clipped slightly differently than how it looked and he did not check mine or any of my group mates, who are all teenagers like me and who's parents had put faith into the guides to keep us safe, before we began. I became increasingly disappointed after I called the company to suggest the guides check the helmets. His response was I should have known to ask for help and that it was somehow my fault I did not know my helmet was on incorrectly. The manager showed no interest in hearing what I had to say and the very real concerns I had for his other clients. read more

What a beautiful place! We stayed in Park City, and the snowmobile folks (well, Max and his beautiful dog Maverick) picked us up and drove us to and from the camp (~35 min drive) free of charge. The guides were patient, friendly and incredibly helpful. Max even gave my 5yo a complimentary set of hand warmers an hour into the trip bc he was cold. We saw moose, turkeys and bald eagles and drove our mobiles to 9000 ft through the beautiful snow covered forests. A truly unforgettable experience. Ridonkerous fun. Eric was our guide. I think our tour was not typical. We were shredding uncut powder through borderline dangerous terrain. Way more adrenaline than I expected. If you demonstrate the skill and desire they WILL hook you up. Leave a big tip commensurate with the permagrin you leave with. read more
