If I could give this tour a 10 star rating I would! We went with Toby for a two hour tour. I recommend the 830 because it's a smaller crowd, it feels more private. The whole process was easy, from booking, arriving, getting on the snowmobile with a lesson, to riding! I was my first time so I was a little nervous at the start, but Toby was great. He even stopped to show us all the wildlife. I felt really safe and in good hands the whole time! I came out to go skiing in park city, but I think this tour was actually the BEST part of my whole weekend! Thank you Toby and Backcountry snowmobiling! We were looking for a snowmobile tour that was more then just playing follow the leader at 10mph. Backcountry snowmobiling hit a home run with our expectations. We did the 3 hour tour and had Toby and Tucker as our guides. We hit some excellent scenery and were given two opportunities to let the sleds rip. The second meadow had feet of untouched powder that made for an incredible experience. We had a couple of sleds in our group that got stuck in the deep stuff but the guides were quick to get them out and never a harsh word was said. We got to see a couple of moose and one unbelievable elk. Weather and snow were perfect. If you go for the three hour tour like us just know that it's a full body workout that will leave you sore if you're not used to it. We'd highly recommend them for your snowmobile tour! read more

My Husband and 18-year-old son were in Park City for a business meeting. They had the afternoon off and gambled on the 45-minute drive out to Backcountry. They said it was well worth it. 3 hours of snowmobiling in the true backcountry reaching altitudes close to 10K' with views to 2 other states. My son said it was one of the best days he has ever had. Have been coming to Park City to ski for nearly 20 years. This year, we finally decided to take a day off from this slopes and try something different! A local friend recommended Backcountry and they did not disappoint. Our guide AJ was very helpful, engaging and clearly loves his job! We took the 3 hour trip and it was the perfect amount of time to see some INCREDIBLE views and stop to take photos, but also have plenty of time to "play" in some meadows and see how fast we can get our machines to run. We saw several elk and bald eagles during our tour; our local friends had seen moose on a prior weekend. The drive to Backcountry from Park City was about an hour (allow plenty of time - and be prepared to lose gps/phone signal!) and we came across several deer during the mid-day drive, so be careful while driving! We brought our ski gear with us (goggles, ski jackets, long underwear, ski socks, ski pants, gloves, snow boots). However, they also have pretty much anything & everything you might need for just $3 per article. The jackets, boots, pants, etc. all appear to be clean and in good condition. They also provide helmets and goggles for free (you are required to wear them). Highly recommend! read more

First off, be advised this is waaaay out there in nowheresville! We were staying at Solitude and it took us about 105 minutes to get there. It took us about 45 minutes to get to Park City afterward. The only equipment included are helmets (some do have gopro mounts). Should you need gloves, goggles, pants or boots they will rent $3/item. (ski goggles are acceptable, but not helmets) The sleds themselves seemed newer but it takes some getting used to the thumb throttle. The handle bars are supposed to be heated but 2/3 of us didn't think the right ones worked? The exhaust comes out at your left foot so that will stay warmer then the right. The side effect is you will smell like exhaust for the next day or so. We did the 3 hour ride. The trails were really really really bumpy which took some of the fun out of it. Begginer trails with nothing challenging or scary. Some great views (we thought the views we had at snowbird were just a bit better). The guides (Tucker & AJ) were really good. Super friendly and did whatever you needed to help. Tipping is expected so don't forget cash. Don't drink a ton coffee before you leave or on your drive there. You only have the trees once you are out there. Overall the family had a blast and would love to do it again. read more

Backcountry snowmobiling really lives up to it's name. I took a 2 hour guided group tour with Toby. He was awesome!! very helpful to those of us who had never been before and knew what those who had more experience were looking for too! I was really delighted by the views. We took trails that had us climbing a mountain, where we saw moose. We weaved through gorgeous snow covered trees and got some speed in a meadow. I was impressed with how new and easy to use their snowmobiles were also. It was a short drive from park city and well worth it, we were definitely in back country. Awesome experience from start to finish. We did the three hour tour as a party of 6 single riders and it was hands down one of the best experiences of the entire trip. Guides were fantastic, friendly, and knowledgeable. Terrain was stunning from the trails to the open range areas. Not to mention we didn't have a ride lined up for the way home and the staff went out of their way and arranged us transportation while out on the tour with no questions asked. I went with a group of friends who had gone a couple of times before, but this was my first time. While the experience and the property was exceptional, I think our Guide (Jay) was what made it a core memory! He was SO helpful and informative. He ensured we were all SAFE and cared for throughout the ride. And also gave us the opportunity to really enjoy the sport. Seriously 10/10 experience!!! Nothing but the highest praise for this one-of-kind-experience in the true back country of Utah! We had 3 epic sleigh riders and a first timer who lagged behind and Toby, our brochoski guide, made sure to make this experience one of the greatest in years. When driving from Midway there wasn't much snow on the ground which worried me a bit, but when we got to Backcountry Snowmobiling it was surely a winter wonderland of untouched paths and wide open valleys to let these snowmobiles rip. Wow what can I say. Great day of adventure. This has everything. Trail riding though the forest. Views that are breathtaking. Snow covered mountains and valley. Ride starts and you take about 5-10 min ride up to meadow. At meadow you are allowed to let loose and have fun on snowmobiles for free ride. Next you trail ride up to peak for great view of nature. We were able to stop and see moose along the way. So majestic watching them on the mountain. Toby our guide was great. We had 3 beginners who were experts by the time we finished. The drive out to Coalville from Park City was 100% worth it. I give the trip and Backcountry a full endorsement! It's a great trip to take a break from skiing. read more

This was an amazing experience! Probably one of the best experiences in my life! I was a little scared at first but our instructor made me feel extremely safe! The path you get to go on is awesome and you get to see the most beautiful views! We even saw three moose and one other critter but I forget what it was called it was like a winter weasel! Simply Amazing! The staff was great. Eric our guide was 1st class (Request Eric as a guide). Eric took us on the 3 hour tour and the sites were breathe taking. Make sure you have a camera and video recorder (GoPro)--you won't be able to describe the views to friends later without some type of pictures or video. We have been snowmobiling in Vermont and Colorado--this experience with Eric was the best. We saw wild life which was the icing on top of an already fabulous adventurous excursion. Back Country Snowmobile was a great experience. At first I was concerned because we had to drive to their ranch in the mountain, but weather was nice and the roads well kept. We arrived and were greeted by the staff, they take care of any need you have in case you are not well prepared. After a briefing on how to drive the snowmobiles we went up the mountain with great views, we saw about 5 moose. At the middle of the tour you arrive at an open space where they let you loose. Went on the 2 hour trip with my two teenagers and husband. Toby was our guide and was fantastic. There were people there who were experienced in snowmobiling and others (like me) who had never been. Toby was helpful to everyone and managed to lead the trip so that the experienced people didn't feel held back, and I was always comfortable with the pace. By the end, I was zipping around like the best of them! Toby stopped periodically to point out moose and other sights, and included a time in a big meadow where we could all zip around at our own pace (that was great fun). Booking with Backcountry was awesome! My buddy and I were up on spring break and went for the 3 hr tour. The 3 hr is well worth the extra money because you go up higher in the mountains and get to play around in deeper powder! Toby was our guide and he is absolutely phenomenal! He will tell you the proper way to turn and give you riding tips to help you better control your machine. We saw a moose also on the way out and one on the way back. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous! I want to come back next year with my parents and will request Toby because he is that good! So much fun and absolutely gorgeous views. We had a private party of 8 people and we all had an amazing time. The snowmobiles are easy and fun to ride and the views are incredible. We debated between going here and Wasatch Excursions and while both seemed great, I was really glad we chose Backcountry. The views here are just incredibly, unbelievably scenic. A couple people in our group were locals and even they were blown away by the trip and said this was the most scenic location. Also, you can rent a full set of snow gear including boots for $12 a person. The gear was clean and very worth it. I was warm the whole trip and with the cold and wind chill from riding the snowmobiles, you will need it; especially if you are from a warm, snowless place like me. Lastly, AJ was our guide and he was so much fun. I normally don't like guided excursions but with AJ I would choose going with him over an unguided tour 100% of the time. He's fun, helpful, kind and he lets you do your thing. He was our only guide but if the other guides are even half as good as him, you're in great hands. read more
