One of the better spots in Quincy for deep tissue work. I had neck pain and my wife had back pain so we were in desperate need of someone to work out the knots. Joe was able to give us the relief that we were seeking though I was sore afterwards and the next day. It's going to be tough and painful but it works. Definitely don't come here if you are looking for a soothing, relaxing Swedish massage. It's called therapy for a reason. Joe is very friendly and approachable and took all the necessary COVID precautions to make you feel comfortable. This is a no-frills, small operations so set your expectations accordingly. I like deep massages. Not the relaxation kind. Especially not the someone's-just-touching-my-back kind. I mean deep, intense massages that work your muscles and make you sore the next day. This is really hard to find. Most massages just aren't that satisfying, and until I met Joe, the only massage therapist I really liked was in St. Maarten. Not exactly convenient for this Brookline girl. I met Joe by chance two years ago when he provided chair massages at work for a group of us working on a big project (same company as Freya H, who reviewed Joe previously). I do not like chair massages. I think they're completely unsatisfying--no benefit to my muscles and just a waste of time. But after three people independently told me how incredible Joe was for their chair massage, I signed up for a spot. And WOW. I wouldn't describe it as a chair massage but more like a massage that happens to be on a chair rather than a table. I was grunting like Claire Dunphy in the massage chair at the mall. Joe came weekly for several months while the project continued, and I never missed an opportunity to have him work the stress and tension from my muscles. From the first meeting where he listened to my concerns and was the was the first person to help me get me mobile after my neck and shoulder were locked in pain. Joe gives an awesome massage- he finds your knots and really works at them until they give up. It is a very deep massage, and can be painful at times (and leave you sore the next day), but a day or two later your knots are gone and you feel great. He's also really friendly and personable. This place is amazing, and Joe is amazing. I hurt my left shoulder and neck really bad from lifting a heavy object. For three days I couldn't move my head around, and had trouble sleep because the soreness and pain. Then I went to Joe didn't except too much from him. But after an hour of deep tissue massage, I totally glad I went. Today is the second day, and I feel great. Joe has a great personality and he cares about how you feel. Hi, I never give anyone a 5 star however, Joe is not anyone. He is a miracle worker. I was in so much pain with my sciatica that the doctor was going to be sending me for an MRI and talked about injections. The day I called Joe for an appointment, I literally could not sit, stand or stretch out. It was so difficult to drive. I went to Joe the next day and I knew by the time I got off that message table that this was going to work. AND it DID ! ! ! I had tears in my eyes from the message but I knew, Joe had hit the problem. I can't say enough about him and what he does. I try to go at least once a month. So lucky to find Joe! I have an avulsion fracture in my left foot. I haven't been able to walk for two months (walking boot). After my first Sports Massage session this week I already started to feel relief. He is kind and patient.. I have been seeing Joe for over a year now. I came with a repetitive stress Tendinitis (tennis elbow) from excessive computer/mouse use. I was unable to work without pain in my office position. It was so severe it did not respond to steroid injections, and physical therapy made it worse. I read about the benefits of massage, but was skeptical. I went to see Joe after seeing he was a massage therapist interested in getting people back to work. He was professional and did a thorough assessment at our first meeting. He was sensitive to the fact that I came in with my preconceived notions of how I needed to be treated, Even though he probably knew better. I scheduled visits weekly as he recommended. I initially wanted to come in more often. He validated that he felt my chronic pain was related to repetitive stress, and he made sure I was being followed by a physician. I felt I had no hope of getting better and back to work like I was used to, but after his therapeutic massage I am finally getting back to normal. I am able to type on a computer, open the door, and do many other basic activities that I had been unable to do without pain. I continued to see Joe as I have a chronic condition that he helps me manage. He has been appropriate, supportive, and his therapeutic massage has been instrumental in making me feel better. Joe is by far the best massage therapist I have ever had. I live overseas and when I return to the states I travel constantly visiting family and friends which means sitting for long periods of time on trains and planes. I also do a lot of lifting and carrying during these times and without fail, I pull a muscle. I have seen Joe every year for the last 4 years and I always feel absolutely incredible afterwards.
