An older couple that just ooze that small town/country hospitality that makes you want to come out every weekend for the featured movies. They always have current movies and the biggest summer hits. One of the most notable things about this drive in is how clean and well kept it is. It would be a real shame to see this one go the way that so many others across the country have. The speakers are loud and clear. The restrooms are exceptionally clean and well maintained with what appears to be newer fixtures. The lot is pothole free. You can just tell the owners take pride in the business. The concession area has a small, but typical movie theater menu and the prices are right in line with other theaters if not actually less expensive. (A large bucket of popcorn and large drink will cost you less than $10.) The cost of the movie is the best in the area at only $7 for adults, $1 for children 3-11, and children under 3 are free. You really can't beat the cost for a family night of entertainment. This drive in is at risk of closing due to the requirement and cost to upgrade equipment to digital and this may be their last season open. Make sure you visit and support what is a dying business across the nation. Stop by their FB group to see the various fundraising events that the fans of the theater have started in an effort to help save the drive in. https://www.facebook.com/groups/123342647687916/members/

They are surprisingly shallow, so guests can't lean back without feeling perched on the very edge of the seat and about to pop out of the chair. I noticed several plain wooden chairs at the back of the auditorium which would likely be more comfortable. I should also mention that the amplification device that we checked out at the info desk didn't work at all. Not surprising since the ones at the Kauffman Center seldom perform properly . I look forward to the day when folks who really need those devices can receive tech that actually works.

I'm so glad that the Tivoli will still be with us, though in a slightly different capacity. I love the theater. The ambiance is classy. The view to the screen is great (i.e. the heads of the people in the rows in front of you won't block your view). But this is not your typical theater experience. There are no refreshments allowed in the theater. The rows are very narrow and the seats have a low back so there is no stretching your legs out or reclining to relax and enjoy the show. I was very interested in the movie I was seeing but after two hours was very uncomfortable in the seat. If you are looking for a film to teach you something or give you a cultural experience, this is your place. If you want to kick back, much on some popcorn and a drink while you enjoy a show, you'll need to head to a different theater.
