The things one does to be able to spend the day with their Mother. Over the weekend, I attend a…read moreshow here with my mother and her Church Lady Friends called 'First Ladies of Country'. Now, I am not a Country fan, but my mother is and growing up in a household listening to Country I knew any of the songs, and acts that were performed. I will admit I do love me some Patsy Cline. I didn't really consider her a Country artist, but to each their own. The 3 main tributes were Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, and Dolly Parton. The show was performed by 3 main stage Ladies who did most of the Cover songs either as a solo or all together. They had a band that consisted of a piano, bass guitar, steel guitar, and a percussionist. They were great, they clearly practice, and put a lot of time and effort in perfecting their craft. Now I will admit I don't know how much the tickets cost for the show, my mother bought them. But I do know that she is a season ticket holder and stated they were reasonable prices. I know she enjoys doing these things with her friends. The area was somewhat small, but really there wasn't a bad seat in the house, which was mentioned many times when I was there. The parking area felt even smaller. Good thing the church ladies carpool. They recommended pulling in backwards to the parking spot, as it is easier when exiting the small lot. There is a small concession area I believe for during intermissions. I enjoyed myself, but mostly so I could spend the time with my mom while visiting. Would I go again? Only if she wanted me too, but otherwise no. I felt out of place, and it just wasn't something I would normally go see. Was it great for the majority of the age group, YES, did they have a blast, YES, will they be returning, HECK YES. Thank you to the staff and performers for a great show, even if it wasn't my cup of tea.

Loved the humor! Located next to the new library which provides more parking and the construction work is all complete. It's very nice! Definitely planning to attend more shows here!

He was so gracious after the show, chatting with everyone who stopped by the backstage door. We felt lucky to say hello and even snap a photo with him! The evening begins with garlic bread and salad, followed by a trip to the buffet line. There's a variety of proteins, including steak, pork, fried fish, and fried chicken, along with sides like vegetables, mashed potatoes, and mac and cheese. I wouldn't say the food is the highlight, but the overall experience and the venue itself are fantastic. Drinks and desserts (served during intermission) cost extra, though they're very reasonably priced. The audience tends to be older folks. I feel like like this is a hidden gem in Kansas City. It would be great to see them bring in some younger actors and actresses for added publicity so more people can discover what a special place this is.

We enjoyed the show Cactus Flower with Marilu Henner and the incredible John Rensenhouse. They were magical. The food tasted OK, but it was not super warm. Sometimes it's hard to keep buffet style food warm, and that was the case here. The salad brought to the table was very lovely as were the drinks and our server. It's probably not the theater experience that we usually have and I'm not sure we would return, but it was a fun time. The room is absolutely enormous, and it was nearly packed full so they are doing a great business and are recognized as the top dinner theater in the country, so it's definitely worth a visit!

There was no question that I'd even need to shop around for a better deal or experience. Mike was top notch professional, knowledgeable, and accommodating. On the big day, he quickly set up the equipment, played an additional memory slideshow and music, and made a bunch of our neighborhood kiddos weeks with his popcorn machine. The sound quality and screen quality was perfect, even as a Christopher Nolan film usually demands an IMAX. For all future movie set ups for our family and probably our neighborhood, we'll be using Backyard Box Office KC

We connected with Michael about hosting a movie night for our volunteers and staff at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, and he immediately responded to our request and scheduled a time for a site visit. From our first interaction, he was friendly, genuine, on time, and communicative without fail. He has immense knowledge about his industry & equipment and has an impressive arsenal of processes in place so that his team is ready for anything. We had to postpone our first date due to weather, and Michael was in communication with us the whole time we were working to reschedule. We even had a hiccup with our planned site the night of our rescheduled event, and he and his team pivoted their entire set-up process like it was nothing. As a person in the events industry, I cannot say enough about their unwaveringly calm demeanor and creative problem solving. The night of the event, they arrived with plenty of time to set up the screen, sound system, lights, and popcorn machine. Everything was set up on time and looked organized. The screen was bright and displayed the picture beautifully, and the sound system was top notch. Michael and his team worked tirelessly to make our event seamless so that our staff could enjoy the event as well, and they thought of every little thing. They were prepared for anything & the pinnacle of professionalism, and I cannot wait to work with them again!

Kyle was terrific with the kids and would always stop to talk music with me when he could. Jeremy is extremely helpful with anything you need and would answer all my questions about drum tech, even helping us find a good deal on an electric kit for our son to practice on at home. Hopefully one day, we will be able to start lessons here again.
