Stopped here on the way to DC and and the building and location was very easy to find off the highway! In a cute old gas station which was super nostalgic and great for pictures. The bagels were mostly sold out by the time we arrived at 10:30 so we went with a regular bagel for a few of their sandwiches. One had egg, cheese, hot sauce, and sausage and the other was their hot honey chicken. Both were delicious!

Yummy bagels. Friendly staff. Clean, LYH-loving decor. Pet friendly patio. Tasty, seasonable coffee drinks. There's an app to order from your phone, if you're in a rush. They got it ALL!

    And I found parking too!

Bacon Street Bagels is fun, and it's in a cute little building that has had many lives as a fish market and gas station. It's a great experience to check out the place. What didn't I like? Well, my bagel sandwich needed more fillings like Will Ferrell needs more cowbell. I had the avocado BLT on a poppy seed bagel. The bagel was delicious! But the sandwich? It included one slice of tomato, a big leaf of lettuce, a little avocado, and 1.5 pieces of bacon. I kid you not. So please, more fillings and more cowbell!

I love this place. Even tho, it's so small and only like 2 outdoor seating and their parking is tiny. This place is cheap, you can choose the bagel type, and what cream cheese you want. The staff is super friendly and patient. I got the lavender lemonade which needs to be more stronger. I also got the bacon street classic which I was more filling but it is still pretty good. I believe they close once everything is sold out.

Everything here except for the hash browns is oddly expensive. Like the base sandwich price is good but anything else is like a dollar or two more than you would care to admit. The parking here is trash, like you're going to do a Lynchburg "totally legal" U turn to get into their parking lot. To call it a lot is a stretch. With that out of the way, the bagels this place serves and the flavor of the sandwiches are fantastic. The lox and schmear is more than just fish and cream cheese. There are like herbs and vegetables. And the lox doesn't taste ice cold to the point of being hard or frozen! It's velvety, smooth, and flavorful. The BLT with avocado is also fantastic. I just wish there was more bacon but the flavor of everything they serve here is good. My school has regularly ordered from here to get breakfast sandwiches and those are easily your best bang for buck, filling option to get when you come here. The hash browns are better than the have any right to be, and you get two of them! I will say its a bit disconcerting because the place doesn't smell like a bakery or bagel place but it does sell quality food in a strange part of town. It looks like something you would find in the background of the Cars movie. This establishment wouldn't at all look out of place in a Radiator Springs set. But the food is worth a shot and I highly recommend anyone downtown looking for a breakfast sandwich to drop by!

Cute and small spot in Lynchburg downtown with delicious bagel sandwiches. The herbivore is my favorite and everything bagel. I can't get enough of their bagels. It's delicious. If you are in Lynchburg you have to try their sandwiches. I never tried their coffee so can't speak on that but bagels and the sandwiches are great. Parking is very limited, and the don't have a phone number to call ahead but you can place your order on weekends online and pick it up. If you haven't tried this place you should. Also they close at 2 pm everyday.

I visited Bacon St. Bagels on a weekend trip to VA last month, and it was my favorite meal of the weekend. I'm not big on breakfast (namely, eggs or pastries), but good bagels have a special place in my heart. I won't buy them from the grocery store or chain coffee places because they're just never up to par. But Bacon St. Bagels? Well, they've nailed their specialty! What I loved: - They have a variety of cream cheese options. I was intrigued most by the jalapeño cream cheese, but didn't end up trying it! The experience: What I appreciated most was that I was able to build my own bagel. They had a variety of bagel sandwich options, but none of them were quite what I was looking for (again, I feel a little weird about eggs sometimes and wasn't feeling it that morning). While the option to customize was not explicitly written on the menu, I asked the cashier if I could and she was like, "Absolutely!" I loved the enthusiasm and ordered an everything bagel with smashed avocado, cream cheese, and bacon, paid for it, and stepped aside to wait for it to be made. I was expecting an everything bagel with bacon, cream cheese, and avocado, but what I wasn't expecting was that it would be my DREAM bagel. Have you ever had a bagel hot off the press? It was warm and fluffy, the bacon was perfectly crisp, and the avocado and cream cheese were the best contrast. Basically, I fell in love with Bacon St. Bagel and it may just be my favorite breakfast I've ever had. 4 stars instead of 5, simply because parking is scarce and seating is even scarcer. This place was packed on that August Saturday morning and the few picnic tables were taken, so I just ate in the car, but it was completely worth it!

Love Bacon St Bagels! They have excellent bagels and my favorite is the El Papa Diablo. The jalapeño cream cheese is delicious too.

Bagels came out cold and firm, closer to hard than fresh. The egg and cheese portions were light, leaving the sandwich dry and unbalanced. For the price, it doesn't hold up. The latte didn't help. It tasted flat and mechanical, like it came straight from a push-button machine rather than being made with any care. Both kids left food on the table, which doesn't happen often. That usually tells the story without needing much explanation. **SERVICE** Ordering was simple and the food came out without delay. No issues with accuracy, but the interaction stayed at a surface level. It moved efficiently, just without much attention beyond that. Service: **AMBIENCE** The space is functional and sizable, but dated. It feels built for volume rather than comfort. There's nothing actively wrong with it, but there's also nothing pulling you to stay. Ambiance: **CLOSING** There's a disconnect between what's being charged and what's being delivered. The foundation is simple. Bagels, eggs, coffee. None of it requires complexity, just consistency and attention. Right now, it leans too far toward routine without enough care behind it. The steady traffic is hard to explain. Ratings Food: ** Service: *** Ambiance: *** Overall: **/* Personal Disclaimer: I value small, independent restaurants and want them to succeed. Years ago, on Saturday mornings, before I went to teach my College Psychology class, I would stop at a bakery and had a bagel with cream cheese. They were so good. Today, after hearing so much about this place, I decided to go and try their Bagels out. After being awarded the Triad Yelper of the Year 2024 Award at the Yelpies Award Ceremony last year, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, I decided that this year, as an All-Star Yelp Elite, I not only wanted to be the first to discover new restaurants and bring them to the attention of the public, but also to uncover those found in hidden paths that for one reason or another have not reached the public in its totality. And Donnie D's Bagels & Deli in Daleville, Virginia, is the perfect example. When I arrived I was aware that their Roanoke, Virginia location had been through a fire and was in the process of renovation. When they first opened I was one of the first ones there trying out their bagels and watching them make them. I invite you to go read my review and see my photographs accompanying it. Their bagels were so good that I missed them and that is why I came to this location to see if they also made them here. I was under the impression that they also made their own bagels here. But it seems that their bagel operation was done in their Roanoke location and they were sent here. Because one of the things they had here was a sign that said that while they were renovating their other location in Roanoke, they were having their bagels shipped from a bakery in New Jersey. What they were making here were their biscuits. When I arrived, I was very impressed with this small but cozy, little deli and bagel shop. The fist thing you see is a display case with lots of bagels of all kinds. The bagels looked big and plumpy. I walked over to the ordering counter and a friendly young lady greeted me and when I asked her about the bagels, told me the story I just wrote about above. Since I was here already I ordered a Plain Bagel with Cream Cheese and a bottle of Starbucks Cold Caffè Mocha. The bagel was good but not as good as Donnie D's, which I still remember when I had one at their Roanoke location. It was warm, crispy on the outside and nice and soft in the inside. I also had an opportunity of seeing the trays of their biscuits made on the premises and they also looked good. I definitely recommend this place to stop for breakfast or lunch. They have quality products, a warm and cozy ambiance, an excellent customer service.
