I drove back( with my kids this time) to Bad Jacks Fireworks on our way home from Lake Tahoe. It added 5 hours to our trip but it was worth it, as always. My favorite place to get fireworks!! The owners are the absolute best! They make the whole experience great. They're super helpful & so nice! They send me a text of their deals & the owner will walk around with me and give me his recommendations & explain the different fireworks. His wife is so sweet. Very friendly. Went there from the bay area union city. Ca.. On 5-8-2021 this place is the bomb.. Nothing comes close .. Staff. Was super friendly. And stopped what they we're doing to help you out..Their prices are the best by far.. All class. A. Fireworks.. No lines. Beware. Cal. Residence do not go there in a U-Haul or a van you will be stopped and checked at the border even if you have an out-of-state license plate coming from the Bay Area the best way is to go highway 88 to 95 with no border this was my first time at bad Jacks and I guarantee I will be there in next year and more years to come their stock is full everything Rockets, modders etc. You want it they got. This was my 2nd time being here sadly my previous review had to be deleted because i had done it on my old profile. I dont mind re doing it tho because this experience was way better than last time! When i came in u asked the owner if it was ok to take pics because they have signs posted that theres no pic allowed, the owner was super chill and told me he had no problems if i took pics as long as i dont take pics of the prices, fine with me i can respect and obey that request i just want to get the word out about this great place. This time around i came earlier than last year and theres was actually less people buying and had more inventory, its safe to say that this place gets crazier the closer it gets to the fourth of July. One thing that stood out this time around was that they had a T.V in the middle of the store that lets u preview the fireworks before you buy them just by scanning the bar code. Another thing that stood out was there is two of the cutest, youngest employees assisting you with scanning the fireworks, Emily and Riley are very helpful and opinionated about whats their favorite fireworks they will quickly scan any barcode to let you preview what your gonna buy, they have great customer service. The whole vibe when walking into Bad Jacks is welcoming, you dont get that feeling like ur being pressured to buy stuff or rushed they have great deals and the variety of fireworks this year was way more than the last time i came two years ago. Theres 2 other firework places in the same vicinity but to be real honest with you, Bad Jacks hands down is the best place to go. They have a shed across the street which they hardly have anything and is pretty expensive, they also have Tepee fireworks, they were pretty friendly and some koo little deals but the variety they have there dont come close to Bad Jacks, what can i say? I've been an amateur pyro for the last 45 yrs and a professional fireworks operator for the last 25 yrs. I drove 8hrs to go to Bad Jack's Fireworks and Trevor made it worth every mile. Not only does Bad Jack's have the best selection and pricing of ANY fireworks retailer I have ever been to, but Trevor's recondite knowledge of each product and its effects ensured that every $ and every match were well spent. Because I was traveling long distance to visit Bad Jack's and holiday travel took significantly longer than anticipated, Trevor made a point of coming down to meet me at the shop....at 8pm on Christmas Day. My only regret is that I didn't buy more. After burning my way through my trove of aerials, candles, cakes, mortars, rockets and missiles, I made a point of also hitting all the major fireworks outlets in Pahrump, NV, because it is only half the distance from where I live. I perused the aisles and shelves of 6 more fireworks warehouses. None of them had the selection of high quality products like Bad Jack's Fireworks and their prices were insanely higher for inferior fireworks. Moreover, none of the employees had anywhere near the knowledge of or excitement for their wares like Trevor does. If you're gonna drop a dime on fireworks, I strongly suggest that you make the journey to Bad Jack's regardless of how much longer you may have to drive to get there. This is equally true whether you're on a very limited budget or have thousands to send up into the sky. I can't rate my experience at Bad Jack's highly enough. Always a great selection of works here. Only issue is prices went up big time from 2019 when we last came in. 2020 was not an option to pick up some, so we returned this year. Still good service with a great selection. Just the prices have went up since last time in. Prices do not beat Red Apple fireworks but they are decent and I feel like I still got a good deal.i wish they're cakes were better priced, but hey it's a mom and pop shop going against motor city and I support the hustle!! But cakes were kinda high. 3. Area 51 in parhump nevada. you have to spend alot on bulk purchases. I just don't like the whole buy 1 get one half off deals. I don't like lighting the same firework in my shows and the are kinda expensive. 4. Phantom. I hate phantom and I will never shop there I hate there buy 1 get 3 free kuz it's the typical buy in bulk package that is overpriced and they try to upsell. I'll never set foot in a phantom. I took a trip to Bad Jacks last weekend without calling ahead to see if they were open (stupid mistake on my part with this pandemic going on). I called in when I got into Reno and Nicole informed me they were closed to the public and were super swamped but were still offering curbside style pick ups but it would be a few hours before we could meet.
