We had some time to kill on Sunday, so we decided to go back. That's when I realized I must of left a whole bag of stuff at the store the day before and I left the receipt at the hotel. The checker remembered me! She saved my bag of stuff for me from Saturday. Also, there was no line early on Sunday morning. I'm definitely going back to I-80 Smokeshop and Camping next year.

I've been coming to Lake Lahontan & camping ever since since I was a kid. Now my own little family joins me. It's nice coming here because, there aren't people EVERYWHERE like at some of the nearby popular lakes. (Lake Tahoe.) Of course, Tahoe has crystal clear snow water. Lake Lahontan has the same snow water, but it's dirtier. It travels all the way down the Carson river. Still yet, we all swim in the lake & have lived to tell the tale! I don't recommend eating the fish here, due to their high mercury content. There are plenty to catch for fun, like bass. You'll see them flop in the lake very often! All in all; if you're searching for a less "touristy," lake & don't mind it being a little muddier, come here. It's the perfect lake to come to & escape from your busy life. You & your family will enjoy it here. PS: Don't forget to bring sunscreen!! It gets hot.

Police driving through campsites, pulling ppl over for frivolous things all day & all night. If you like being harassed & spied on by police driving through your site staring at you then this is your place. They also have speed traps regularly on the road in & out to access the park. Fourth of July…read more.. We've been coming to the spark for the Fourth of July fireworks near 20 years now. They always have some fun and festivities in the park during the day. Usually live music, or broadcast radio station from inside the park. We back up to the main road, get out our chairs, and wait for sundown. Our routine usually includes making some fried chicken and potato salad and going to the lake or the river. Spend a few hours there and then head to Fernley. It is absolutely one of the best firework shows around. Not sure if it's just a holiday, but we always meet people in make friends while we wait for the show. I see they have other events here through the year, but definitely if you have not tried, come watch the fireworks on Fourth of July.

Beautiful light display, holiday tunes, and merchants selling wares for last minute shopping. Nice to have another Winter Season event option here in our Biggest Little City. Great to have a suite for holiday parties and a room to retreat to when exploring all the festivities at the field.

AMENITIES: Barbecue, basketball court, pathways, picnic shelter, playgrounds, tables/benches, and year-round restrooms. You need bathrooms on the other side of the park also. Atmosphere - Part of the 1962 acre master community. 8 acres put aside for this park. Open space, wetland, etc. Service - N/A, self service. Price - Free. Owner Suggestion - Thank you for such a nice park, but can I suggest more shade? And another set of bathrooms on the other side of the park.

We always seem to see some wildlife here. I've walked and ran this path several times even on a Christmas evening lights viewing /run outing.
