On a couple of occasions now I've talked with two of the techs in the back, an older guy and a young guy. They are very friendly and knowledgeable about a wide variety of equipment. I brought my manual start Toro Powerlite snowblower in for starting problems I could not resolve, plus the scraper bar was shot. They said my engine was pretty much worn out, so they put a good used engine on it from a machine that another customer had just left there. And this engine had an electric starter! So now I have a machine I can start manually or electrically. But wait, there's more. They thought the rubber paddles on mine were a bit worn out, so they put on a better used pair they had laying around FOR FREE! They also thoroughly cleaned the carb (by ultrasonic method) from the new (used) engine they put in, plus cleaned the fuel tank to ensure no starting problems. All told, they put a lot of work into my machine, including the engine with electric start, for under $200, which I thought was pretty good. It starts and runs like a champ now, just in time for today's snowstorm. Previously I'd only bought parts here a couple of times. And now I know their service/repairs are top notch too!

Fast forward from my last review and I was attempting to get the part so I stopped into the store to check on my order. I waited ten minutes for him to pull up his part order log which is a spiral notebook. He couldn't find my order anywhere - even though I have called four times and have been there once. I left my phone number for him to "research" the issue. He NEVER called me back and this is the second time this happened. Seriously if you don't have your faculties together then it's time to hang up the saddle and retire. Your real estate is worth tons of money - sell the place vs. keeping hours of 8:30 to 5pm with no weekend hours. I ended up ordering the part on-line for cheaper and no hassle of being worried as well because the owner wasn't wearing a mask.

And then when I fumbled to described what i came to know as drum supports, he very politely asked follow up questions until we came to the part in question. This place is a Bay View historical site and it will be a very sad day if it ever goes away. I want to thank the man behind the counter. You carry yourself as a man who know what he is doing, and you left a lasting impression even just for a man fixing his dryer. You are providing a service that is in very short supply and your prices are comparable to those found online. I was relieved their website invited customers to bring their lamp and a face mask to shop there. Covid is currently raging in my community. When I got there neither of the the salespersons, an older couple, had masks on. The inventory is traditional, colonial looking. I did find one shade that is lovely, but an outlier for there collection. They were also quite snippy with a UPS worker who was dropping off large boxes. So I got my lampshade but not a good feeling.

His guys are also very professional and friendly, and they have GREAT attention to detail - which I think is very important in the remodeling business, but unfortunately, sometimes lacking with other contractors. We've done a few remodeling projects over the years, and each time we've had to start from scratch because we never had a contractor we loved. Custom Designers will definitely be our go-to company in the future.
