Beef Jerky is something I like since I was a teenager. As I recalled I packed a pound or two of Beef Jerky in my backpack for some of my camping trips. First time to the Fort Myers Beef Jerky Outlet. As you walk in, there are pre-packed beef jerky and the loose beef jerky in barrels for your picking. Today, I found the barrels were empty with only one barrel still have may be a pound of beef Jerky left. The sweet lady tells me tomorrow they have a big shipment by 6:00 PM. Well, I just pick up about 6 Oz out of the Original Beef Jerky barrel. I like others like Honey and Hot Pepper but not today! No bison, venison, elk, turkey and others. There are hot sauces and chili available. One bad news, I finished more than 4 Oz of beef Jerky on the way home! Well, need to return to this store for an update! read more

Those who know me know I don't throw around 5 star ratings like they're nothing. But, on a recent trip to Florida to visit my parents, I stumbled across this marvel of modern man - The Beef Jerky Outlet. Right off the bat, it was getting a minimum of 3 stars just because it combined 2 of the greatest inventions in human history... beef jerky and outlets. Let's cut to the beef. This place is - simply - amazing. All of the beef is top quality and delicious. The owner offered me some samples of any type I wanted (which I happily obliged myself to), and I ended up buying three different varieties to take back with me; original, honey and ghost pepper. All were incredible. Seriously - incredible. This is not your pre-packaged beef jerky (even though they do sell pre-packaged brand name jerky, and pre-packaged house-made jerky for easy transport, too). Everything is fresh, sitting in barrels for your picking. I'm not kidding when I say I sent my parents back to pick up more and ship it to me! This place has got more game than Hasbro and ESPN combined! Elk, Bison, Turkey, Alligator - etc- oh, and of course beef! And all the bags, barrels and boatloads of the stuff comes from animals raised on farms- not from hunters or poachers. The prices are reasonable and they are always running specials- especially around any holiday associated with meat or bar b que. When I was an infant and was irritable from teething- my father would give me a baby sized chaw of beef jerky- only thing that calmed me down. So I decided to pass the tradition on to my daughter when she was an infant- boy did I hear it from my wife- "Are you crazy? She will choke to death!" My point is Fort Myers- don't forget to bring your teeth when you visit- they offer free samples! You won't be disappointed! read more

Went from great to terrible. Was a long time customer. They changed suppliers. First time I went after the change, notice the Jerky had gone way up in price, quality was lousy. Figured they might be having problems lining up their new supplier and would give them a second chance. The second time I went, the Jerky was inedible. Took couple of bites, threw out the rest. Also, when I went in I wanted to get a Diet Coke. What was in their case was anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months past expiration date (diet soda turns bitter after sitting too long which is why expiration dates are on the bottles. If you like meat this is your own heaven! You can sample everything but the game-type jerky and owner Kurt clearly has a passion for his shop. There are also enough rubs, hot sauces, jarred peppers and olives and such to try a different one every day for years. Not cheap but I don't mind spending my money on good stuff.
