Edit: good news everyone found some place I can go won't be ever going to bad boys again this place sucks whoop edit: i also know there is a price for them building the computer but it shouldn't cost over 100 dollars. TDLR: to sum up this reveiw i spent 1,895.00 for the computer went on newegg. and looked at the parts they are all cheap and only cost all together 1009.00 where did the other 900 dollars go KEVIN!!! even with the gpu shortage if my gpu cost double than it does now where did the 400 dollars go then. now i have to upgrade this by over drafting` my account and spending $900 to get a better gpu and power supply and pay $70 just to have KEVIN put in the new parts cause i can't. So, here is my tale with Bad boys computers. I went in because even though I know my way around computer and have built one or two with HELP i didn't feel like doing myself. I was getting a decent check from my disability case from back earnings. I'm ready for a beast of a computer. I walk in the business ready to get to business. Kevin is standing there and greets me. (he is the one who ultimately built my build) i told him specifically and he will deny this " i want to play game at or above 60 fps." he asks me "what games i want to play above 60 fps" now here is the thing. Had i thought of this when i walked in i would have had probably a better build but i digress. i should have said "ALLLLL GAMES EVERY GAME THAT WOULD COME OUT NOW AND IN THE FUTURE" instead i shoot off a few game "witcher 3, cyber punk 2077 when it comes out. stuff like that" he said "o yea we can get you computer that runs those games" mind you he did not specify it running at 60 fps or above that's what i wanted i did NOT want a dip in fp below 60. So a couple days goes by because he has to make up a list of parts for the build. now i have to say this, this was in april of 2021 the gpu shortage was ramped and he told me that prices were sky high. mind you i told him i wouldn't mind paying the prices for a decent card because again price really wasn't a object atm. so he gave me a list of parts and let me just say. i STUPIDLY did not really look over the parts because this is a place of business i was expecting them to give me what i wanted i would have payed 4000 dollars for my build if it came to it with the graphics card but either way i signed off on the parts and gave him the deposit. the build cost me exactly $1,895.65 i payed in full and waited impatiently for my build took about two weeks to build for parts to come in and for him to build it. (i will be putting up pics of the list of parts which btw isn't right i found out a couple days later when i needed the exact parts to upgrade this Piece of shit computer) I took it home started it up, and started to play games mind you I HAVE NEVER HIT 60FPS ON ANY GAME ON ULTRA ON 1080P WTF KEVIN WTFFFFFFFFF. of course he will say "well the graphics card shortage!!!" I've had this build for a year because one i didn't have the money to upgrade it cause the graphics card shortage and i payed him what i thought was enough to get me what i wanted. fast forward to a couple of days ago. I'm ready to upgrade this POS. i'm getting me rtx 3080 to replace the abysmal gtx 1650 3 gig he put in the damn thing. so i go look up the parts that i already have in the system. i look at the sheet they gave me with my recipe. i was pissed first the motherboard was a amd b450 at least that's what the sheet said well that board doesn't support pci express 4.0 which is the port for a 3080 come to find out they typed it wrong and i have a b550 which does phew close call. Well as im talking with Kevin on the phone about this i ask "so is my 800w power supply still 800" that's what it says on my sheet. he says "oh no it's a 700w." now I'm mad because i have to buy a new power supply just to run my new graphics card. I then decide to go on newegg to price out all my parts because i don't' trust that the comptuer cost me the amount i payed for. well would you look at that parts on newegg all of them come out to 1009.00 they charged me 1,895.00. now KEVIN the guy who built it will probably replay to this like "the GPU SHORTAGE!!." even with it my shitty 1650 3gb gpu being double what it's worth now that would stil leave 400.00 that could have been used to buy a 1000w psu a 900ssd instead of a 400ssd and the case was already in house. So with all that i now have to buy 900 dollars and overdraft my account in the next couple of days to upgrade this POS! plus i have to go back to KEVIN and pay him 70.00 dollars to put in the stupid power supply because guess when i don't want to fuck it up. DONT GO TO THIS STORE! but if you must and you get KEVIN make sure you pay attention to the parts. look them up on newegg.com prior to sighing that contract and do your RESEARCH ON PARTS. thank you that's all. read more

This is the worst place ever. I took my laptop there for repairs because my SSD burned out. Two months later, this place, full of ignorant and irresponsible people, had not ordered the part. They never called me with any updates. I don't know how this place is still open. It looks like a store from the '80s, with old monitors and laptops that people probably threw away and then reassembled to sell. To give you an idea, I ordered the part on eBay for less than $100 and fixed my computer myself in under two hours. Oh, and let's not forget that they wanted to charge me more than $280 for something I fixed myself for less than $100. THIS PLACE IS A JOKE!! read more

took in an external hard drive that was not working and asked if it was possible to get the data recovered. Guy at counter plugged it in and said it didn't work. Yeah, I knew that. After a short conversation he said it was not possible but I could try sending it off and to see if another company could retrieve the data and handed me a pamphlet. Not sure if it was lack of knowledge at BB or just lack of wanting to provide a service to a repeat customer. The lack of effort was disappointing. I left there and went to another shop in Longwood. Staff was friendly. However, the service was not good by any means. I would not recommend any one come for computer repairs of custom builds. TLDR: Incorrect hardware failure diagnosis. Initial quota was for 15 days. Took 40 + business days for computer to be repaired. I came to Bad Boy computers with a computer needing diagnostics and likely repair on 06/27. Kevin was my main point of contact throughout this whole process. The diagnostic itself did not take very long, roughly a week. The initial diagnosis was a failed PSU, and bad motherboard. The timeline given to me alongside the quota for the repair was roughly 15 business days. At around the 15th business day ( roughly 3 weeks after leaving my computer ) I am informed that there is a delay on my replacement motherboard, and that this timeline will be extended by an "unknown" time frame. After another 3 weeks, I inquired about the status of my computer repair, as there had been no contact from anyone at the store, and my computer was still not fixed. I was informed there was still a delay on the motherboard, and that they would be more proactive on updates regarding the repair ( We have now doubled the estimated time for completion of this repair ). A week passes and my store contact Kevin informs me that he has received the motherboard. However that I will now have another delay. Because the motherboard was not faulty. It was my CPU which was faulty. After only another week and a half. More than 40+ business days after initial drop off. My computer was repaired and the CPU replaced. This entire extended timeline issue could have been avoided had my computer hardware failure been diagnosed properly. Do not recommend. read more

I get told to come tomorrow I say I'm only 3 minutes away, the person on the phone huffs and me rudely says just come in damn, as if I'm a problem because they don't want to work there full time. Sure enough I asked if they sold any LCD control boards and I told him I'm lookin to make a few lcd screens external monitors. Epson updated my printer with new firmware and my printer would not work with generic ink. And Epson ink costs more then the printer. Epson said too bad and there was no way to down grade the firm ware. Bad Boys took care of it no problem. And it was much cheaper then buying Epson ink. Thanks again guys. read more

took it in to have noisy fan replaced and they had it 17 days and when they gve it back it would'nt run. They said I had a damaged hard drive and wanted to replace it for about $200. I had already paid them $85 for the fan replacement and other than the noisy fan my computer worked fine until they got into it. It just shuts itself off within 3 minutes of turning it on. read more

I took my laptop in for Repair because is was Blue Screening , I ask them if they can repair it and they said no Problem, so after about 3 days I pick up my laptop and took it home about 1 hour of use it Blue Screened again! so I took it back to the store, after the third time of taking it back to the store for blue screening the Owner said that I owed him another $100 Dollars on top of the $110 I had already paid them! for Repairing the Blue Screening! so Basically I gave them $110 for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! was a previous customer of Badboy and was suprised when they asked for PRE-payment in full for a repair of a laptop that needed a power port and power cord. I paid in full ($150) and it took them 8 days to receive the part. They installed it and the laptop booted up and worked. On a second test, they say the circuit board shorted. Now they want me to pay an additional $125.00 plus for a board. I have refused and will take the matter to the consumer authorities, such that they are in Florida, if I do not receive satisfaction. read more

OK I've lived here for 18 years and rarely use these guys. But that translates into about 15 times I've used them. Yesterday was so beyond outstanding that I feel compelled to share. They are usually very competent but...you be the judge. Hurricane Irma is on its way. Most stores are closed or closing early. I broke my phone while putting up window protectors. I go to my local ATT store in hopes of any sort of replacement first thing in the morning. THEY'RE CLOSED, GOT OUTTA DODGE, ABANDONED THEIR CUSTOMER BASE EARLY. I'm in serious trouble. But last time my hard drive crashed I remembered Bad Boy Computers does phone repairs. I call them, they have the part & color in stock & will do it today. It gets better. I had a few other problems I already knew about besides a cracked screen. SIRI & dictation didn't work, the charger port was if'y, and I had button issues. Their tech knew what the problem was & had the parts in stock. I'm about to be really impressed. I'd been to 2 other shops about my SIRI issue & they had no idea that an iphone6 has 2 microphones. The Bad Boy Tech did. And last was the quality of the parts. The screen they gave me cleared up a problem I had with white hazy patches showing up on a dark screen on my 3 month old previously repaired screen. So let's summarize: Superior availability & store hours, sense of duty to the community, far better trained tech personnel, excellent parts management, fast reliable service, long history in the community. Avoid the Nightmare! I wanted to take my Laptop to a locally owned business, so I drove past the Office Depots and a Staples and even the Best Buys and CompUSA's and gave my laptop to these guys - figured they would do a good job, at a fair price, and I would be helping the local economy. Wrong!! They told me 7-10 days, I am waiting on the 12th day!! I told them to unplug my machine, set it to the side, and I will be coming to get the laptop. They still are sticking me with the $35 Diagnostic Fee, which is a means to an end, trust me.....Its easier to just buy a new computer or spend a couple extra bucks and go to the Big Named Stores read more

why oh why did i not read the reviews BEFORE i took my laptop to badboy computers in orange city. I too drove past all the big places and went to the local 'little' guy to help out my local economy. As I sit right now I do not have an outcome, however i am hoping i can be the first to report that they fixed my laptop and the (so far) 17 day wait was worth it. Or at least they will read this and feel sorry for me and want to make it right and not over charge/ not fix or just send me to the BBB also like the other folks. Came here with a laptop repair job. The back-light in the LCD screen was non-functioning. I paid $35 dollars for them to tell me the problem, $35 dollars for the part to fix the problem, and $60 dollars for them to render the service of fixing my computer. The diagnostic came up with the cable connecting the motherboard and LCD being defective. It took them a month trying to fix it by replacing the cable for them to tell me that wasn't the problem at all and that the motherboard header was the actual problem, and that would cost near $300 to fix. You'd figure that they would give me back the money for the labor and the part in cash, but instead they decided to keep everything and refunded me $35 in store credit for the part that was unneeded. When I came to them with my grievance they treated me with disrespect and belligerence, and refused to give me the money in cash. So if you go to Badboy computers, hold your money till the work is done because you might just pay for them to waste your time and treat you like scum. read more
