I went in to see Dr. Christopher Boone at Bellevue Bone and Joint Physicians (BBJP) regarding…read moreswelling in my knee which had been replaced via a total knee replacement l5 years ago. After Dr. Boone x-rayed my knee, he determined that the swelling was due to the uneven wear of the original plastic spacer, in my knee which he indicated needed to be replaced. Dr. recommended that a MRI be performed so he could "study" what the best options were. After Dr. Boone presented the options, he recommended that the plastic spacer in the original knee replacement be surgically removed and replaced as well as the removal of 3 cysts around the knee joint. The surgery performed required opening up my knee just like in the original knee placement procedure to have access to the knee prosthesis and the plastic spacer. The surgery results were excellent. Ten (10) days after the surgery, I was able to return to my Bike Spinning Classes. Dr. Boone is an outstanding Orthopedic Surgeon. I give him my highest recommendation. Lynn Caldwell 12/2017

I have had more pain and problems since my replacement despite his promise that "in 6 months you won't even know you had a hip replacement." I am reminded at nearly every moment of the day STILL that I had a hip replacement. He claimed my replacement was such a perfect fit that it appeared to be "made for me" exactly. He sent me down the referral gauntlet, I've had countless injections, my liver is now in crisis from the medications I have taken to try to relieve my pain, no Drs will touch his work because "he's the best of the best," it has literally been one of the most traumatic experiences of my life. I'd gone for the hip replacement because I had dysplasia, lots of arthritis, and it was locking up on me trying to carry my infant daughter down the stairs and I was terrified I'd fall with her. I had gotten the surgery hoping I'd be able to be a more active mother, but it had the opposite effect. It has taken such a toll on my mental, emotional and physical health. He only looked at an xray and spent 10 minutes with me at my consult before he decided I was "a perfect candidate for a Total Hip Replacement." I trusted him because of his reputation. With the research I've done since, I believe he should have NEVER considered putting my body through the procedure considering I was breastfeeding (up until I was wheeled to the Operating Room) AND the fact that women's bodies, especially the hip area need time to recover from Childbirth...the ligaments and structure need time to heal. I believe this is malpractice, greed and carelessness on Dr. Boone's part. I caution anyone, especially women from letting him or his robot operate on you. I think I was one of 7 robotic replacements he performed that day. It took me 3 days to leave the hospital and I was in incredible pain.

From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming, professional, and calming. He is friendly and efficient, making the entire process smooth and stress-free. He took the time to really listen to my concerns, thoroughly explained what was going on, and outlined a clear, personalized treatment plan. I have never felt rushed or pressured--just genuinely cared for. Upon our first meeting, his knowledge and expertise were immediately evident and he made sure that I was comfortable every step of the way. After just a few sessions, I noticed a significant improvement in my pain levels, mobility, and overall well-being. The adjustments were precise and effective, and I appreciated the additional advice on posture, stretching, and long-term care. If you're looking for someone who is skilled, attentive, and truly dedicated to helping you feel your best, this is the place to go! I'm incredibly grateful for the care that I've received and will definitely continue coming back.

I haven't had much, if any, neck issues since then. And even if I get some flare ups, I feel confident to resolve that with the exercises he's given me, and it resolves within a week (usually less). I recently started having really bad lower back pain for about the last 1-2 months and I finally made an appt to see him today. Zach gave me such an informative rundown on the root issues and the assessment was spot-on to my bad [posture] habits. He assured me in the way I needed it and again gave me the proper tools and exercises to feel confident that I can tackle this. I left feeling much less stiffness and tension in my lower back bc he spent some time loosening it up and adjusting my back. Can't say enough wonderful things about the guy and his knowledge. I already recommended him to some of my gfs.

I interviewed 4 surgeons, and did 10 years of PT and avoiding a Total Hip Replacement, probably because I was so frightened of having surgery. But I trusted Dr Rothenberg immediately, and was incredibly impressed with the Pre- and Post-surgical care and I had a very successful experience. So grateful Words cannot express. This type of surgery of only around 100 years old, so think of the millions of older adults who gimped around in pain the second half of their life. (TEARS!)

I am a bad, BAD patient. I say that upfront, so you know that whatever I write, for whatever…read morefacility or surgeon, is from the perspective of an admittedly BAD PATIENT! I am the biggest wuss in the world, and I can't stand the thought of not being in control of what happens to my body. Still, I give this place a solid 4 stars. Probably closer to 5 stars, really. The staff here is as great as it gets. I had some cortisone spinal injections here, and I'd only consider coming in if I was assurred IV sedation. I was told to check in at 1:30pm, and I was there by 1:20pm. I was in a lot of pain so I couldn't sit, so I stood in the waiting room. After signing a few papers, I waited until 2:15pm or later, until I was told I could go inside. (Having a 45+ minute wait when one is in distress and very anxious isn't the best, hence my not giving this place 5 stars). RN Linda was amazing, as she tried to put me at ease. The nurse who started my IV was great; I didn't feel a thing (I think her name was Kerry). Unfortunately, I didn't feel a thing from the sedation at all, ever. I was told it'd be analagous to "a two martini lunch". I was okay with that. (Ideally I'd have wanted general anasthesia, but they can't do that for this procedure. I understand that. But have I mentioned that I'm a huge wuss? And I was incredibly anxious, my heart racing, soooooo nervous). Even after they turned on the sedation drip in the procedure room, and I said I wasn't feeling any results at all of said drip, they still didn't titrate the dose or up the drip a bit. This is another reason I'm not assigning 5 stars here; I needed sedation and I didn't get it. Plus, it would've been better for me had they started the sedation while I was waiting in the ante-room, after they put in my IV (there was a 40 minute wait for my turn in the OR, and I was really, really nervous). That said, the nurses were wonderful in every other way, and my surgeon, Dr. Wen, was incredible. He explained what he was going to do, he tried to alleviate my fears, and he was incredibly adept at what he does and, best of all, it was over with quickly. If I have to do this again (which I might), I will definately come back here, and see Dr. Wen. FYI: the procedure room was ice cold. My teeth were chattering. Even the nurses were commenting that it was "colder than usual". Also, after the procedure, when they bundle you up to go, they do so quickly. I found all my electrodes on the next day. They get you outta there fast. I appreciated how they give you a survey, to get your input, after the fact, and also how a nurse called up the following day to inquire how I was doing.

Dr. Chi performed toe fusion on me, but the screw he placed was far too big for my foot. My big toe didn't heal properly, causing me constant pain and I was unable to walk properly because the head of the screw was right below my skin at the front of my toe. He did not inform me ahead of time the size of the screw, and if he had, I would have chosen another option or doctor. For ten months after Dr. Chi's surgery, I was in constant pain and had difficulty walking. The bones were not healing. I asked him about other bone healing options and stem cell treatment, but he dismissed those. He told me unrelated scare stories, and told me he would do another surgery instead to take the pin out, perform a bone graft to fix the issue, then replace the pin. He also told me he didn't support the bone healing machine, that he didn't believe that stem cell treatment is a viable option. Instead he pushed another surgery or agreed to PRP treatment, which I have since discovered only works on tendons and ligaments, not bones. I switched doctors, and ended up having stem cell treatment, and that healed the bone. Then I had another surgery to remove the screw, using an extensive bone graft to fill the hole. More time, and lots more money to correct the surgery done by Dr Chi.

I'm 52 and totally understand the complications and risks with this type of surgery. I felt what could go wrong went wrong. The problem with a lot of people is they do not understand that when something goes wrong, almost all of the time it has nothing to do with the surgeon performing the procedure. Things just happen. Dr. Keem has always been professional and straight forward with me as well as the staff that works around him. I knew the risks and accepted what happened as part of that but Dr. Keem is great. I'd go to him again (this was my second procedure with him...the first being 7 years ago). The staff at the surgery center was amazing. All of them were great compared to my previous visit. I'd like to give a huge shout out to all of those who cared for me but the one that stood out the most was Morgan. She seemed so much of a real person than a robotic nurse that i had experienced with my previous surgery. She was easy to talk to and seemed relatable to my life experiences. Again...all of the nursing staff was amazing this visit but Morgan stands out the most. Thanks again.

My most recent experiences, however, show a complete lack of professionalism. My CT scans from a month ago have not been reviewed, and multiple calls to my surgeon have been ignored. I have been living with pain and a completely useless left shoulder since his revision surgery nine months ago. I understand that my situation might be complex, but to simply not respond to a patient is unconscionable.
