Fun place, has wet rides and dry rides. You have to buy a wrist band. You can either buy just for the dry or wet rides, or have it for both. About $20 for choosing wet/dry or $40 for both. Love the alpine slide, fun to ride little carts down a big winding trail. Get to ride ski lift up which is relaxing. Has 4 big water slides, 3 of them have to use an intertube, and the other just your body. Getting to each waterside there's a mini hike uphill and some stairs. Good exercise! Warning (black hole water slide) - hurts a little on the back and the water pressure when getting to the bottom also can hurt a little.) They do have a kitty pool for kids to play, which is separate from the water slides. Also the free fall! They have 2 Levels. You must be able to land properly and pass in order to go to the top level. No tricks or flips just jumping off. Go carts are fun, small course but it's a fun time for a couple hours. Recommend a try!

Fun family experience but I was a little disappointed in the long line to get back up this hill. Ok not a little quite disappointed. You are given 2 hour time frame to tube but in that time we only got to go down maybe 6 times due to the huge line spanning the length of the tubing hill. $26 to tune for 2 hours = 6 times down the hill. We did walk up the hill but hard to do with the kids. Bring your own food they unnecessarily price gouged $8 for a small frozen pretzel with cheese. It was $6 or $7 for a crappy hot dog. Had it been less crowded where we didn't have to wait 20 minutes per ride dork the hill the kids would have been much happier so it could be a great place

What a terrible experience at the rental area. The young girl behind the counter for the rental boots was beyond annoyed with customers at opening time! Then it got better. The guy who handed me the snowboard to rent was a real gem. I wouldn't be surprised if he were the owner of the place or part of the family. He was so arrogant. I asked if for a size 157. He slammed a 155 board down and I asked him very nicely if that was the largest board he had because I was hoping for a 157. He looked at me like I was in the wrong and then decided to berate me in front of the other customers going on and on to make sure I knew we were talking about 2 centimeters. I was floored. I hope he can move on and find a job where he is not required to provide customer service.

We tried Wild Mountain for the first time this year as we got a free ticket with our season pass at Spirit Mtn. It was an easy drive from the metro area, and very accessible despite heavy snowfall the day before. Although we visited early in the season (mid-December) there were enough runs open for a fun afternoon of skiing. Our only complaint was that a few of the runs were closed to the public for the local ski teams to practice. However, the staff did a great job of quickly re-opening these runs when the ski team moved on.

Fun in Taylor's Falls for a quick visit. This park may be outdated but they offer a variety of fun options for the kiddos. My nephews mostly enjoyed the alpine slide. I appreciated the option of being allowed to bring our own food in. We posted our stuff at a picnic table and we're able to come and go as we needed. Bringing our own food enabled us to stay longer. We purchased groupons for our visit which was a great deal. I'd love to see this place once it's remodeled. The staff were friendly and we didn't have to wait long for the attractions.

Most of the guests and staff who get close to each guest working at the one chair lift that's open are not using masks although required per signage. The ski patrol meanwhile looks on and drinks alcohol for lunch refreshment.

Great food at the ski lodge! Best pretzels ever.

Price is too high for value received. Take a trip to Valley Fair. More to do, better ride choice.

Stop by the visitor center in downtown Hayward. They have maps, a topo map, bumper stickers, magnets, shirts, etc. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable about the Birkie, as they call it. Now to the hiking experience. I started at OO Trailhead. Two mountain bikers were there with me but they were l. The Cambra Trail System and I was on the Birkie. The Birkie "hiking" trail is the actual x-country ski race trail. It's basically a "field" between dense forest. I hike the Birkie RED trail, not BLUE classic trail (unmowed) was literally alone the entire time save the loggers that were clear cutting near Boedecher Rd, one German Shepherd guarding a log trucker, two Cambra mountain Bike Trail maintainers and one snake. It was one of the oddest hikes I've done. In 11 miles there was ONE place to sit down. The Boedecher warming hit which was mid-construction. Other than that it was knee high weeds on the trail. Zero water opportunities. I'm use to that in a drought but not after months of Midwest rain. There was literally no where to get water. I hike with 3 liters so I was good. The Seeley Fire Tower doesn't exist even if the map says "Fire Tower" on it! Scat! Bear scat and what appeared like wolf or coyote scat. Never saw any but that doesn't mean they didn't see me. There was evidence of best because three red box aid stations were demolished from bear claws. I look forward to putting my Birkie sticker on the CRV. #done

Everyone had a smile and that definitely contributed to a fantastic atmosphere. The course had lots of terrain and mature trees but wasn't too punishing for novice golfers (90-110 scores) who only play a couple rounds per summer typically but are working to play more often. I would highly recommend making the drive during the summer and can only imagine the views in early fall with the river valley leaves. Finally it looks like the clubhouse / restaurant is set up to host events and wedding receptions with amazing views. Every visit to Stone Hill just gets better and better! Since my last review my family has grown and now my toddlers (2 and 3 years older) are along for the week. We have spent each day fishing, going down to the beach, visiting with Helen - the amazing lady that owns Stone Hill Resort - and playing on the playground with the children. The beach and sandy entry to the lake is AWESOME for the kids and the shape and turn of the dock makes a natural swimming area that has a max depth of about 16" making it a PERFECT way to introduce the toddlers to the lake and swimming in it (while you can keep them in an area that is fairly controlled for safety). Stone Hill has a pontoon boat that you can rent for the week (well worth it and SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than the in-town rental options). Each cabin unit comes with an aluminum fishing boat. Since I last reviewed Stone Hill they have added direct tv and wifi. It is done in a nice way with nothing rustic being taken away but instead supplemented with these additions. This is the singe BEST vacation rental option in northern Wisconsin, still a slice of old Hayward, WI Resort history and an amazing 5 star experience every time I come.
