Stopped in at 10:25 on a Sunday morning. In need of my rye bagel fix. Not only were they out of rye…read morebagels, but also out of more than half of the other bagel options. No onion, no sesame, etc, etc, etc. Ok, so I get three bagels to go (everything, whole wheat and cinnamon raisin). Total comes to $5.85 (3 @ $1.95). The menu board on the wall behind the counter clearly shows one bagel costing $1.56, w no price break until half dozen. When I questioned the employee, she said, "Those are the old prices." Makes me wonder what other prices prominently displayed are "old". Tried the everything bagel at home. Lightly toasted with butter. It was very good (I'd rate it a 4). But shortage of varieties a little more than halfway through the day, and misleading pricing.... 2 stars.

For those familiar with Wolcott, you can find this gem in the plaza across the street from Cumberland Farms. This plaza has ample parking for a morning bit. Inside, they offer a few tables to eat your meal or drink your coffee, but this place is basically an order up/order out outfit. I've eaten at Wolcott Bagel for both lunch and breakfast. For breakfast, I typically get a sausage, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel. My wife enjoys their homemade chive cream cheese on an everything bagel. They are a popular place to eat (for a good reason), and I will be back again. The only recommendation I have is if you are going to grab a bagel or bagel sandwich on a Saturday, grab it early (before 10 am). I've gone a couple of times later on a Saturday morning to find out they ran out of the bagel I'd normally get. I still had a delicious meal, but it's just as an FYI as they make their bagels homemade, and my guess is they try to match the need for the day.

DeRocco's in Naugatuck IS pound for pound, my favorite restaurant in the area. Yesterday the Taylor ham was back (cue the heavenly choir), so I did what any self‑respecting Jersey transplant would do: I ordered a classic Taylor ham, egg, and cheese -- salt, pepper, ketchup, of course. And because I've committed to trying something new each visit, I doubled down with an everything bagel stacked with onion, tomato, and honey habanero cream cheese. Unreal. Like, "I need a moment alone with this bagel" unreal. I love this place. The staff. The vibe. The food. The whole thing just hits. It's the kind of spot I openly warn friends and family about -- not because it's dangerous, but because I would go every single day if I didn't physically restrain myself. DeRocco's is my personal breakfast kryptonite. Important note for fellow Taylor ham enthusiasts: I love how thin they slice it here. Makes it super tender and perfect. I'm even considering going double meat next time -- it feels like the portion's been shrinking a bit but honestly, that might just be me wanting more of a good thing. Bottom line: If you're anywhere near Naugatuck and you're not eating here, you're doing breakfast wrong.
