State College bagel visit, part 2. Bagel Love Cafe is a small shop located on State College's Atherton Ave "business strip":outside of downtown. It's a small shop located in a small strip shopping center. In keeping with bagel visit part 1, I had a poppy seed bagel (toasted) with cream cheese. The bagel wasn't heavy on poppy seeds--which I always appreciate. The shop provided a generous schmear of cream cheese and--interestingly--sliced the bagel into quarters. Haven't seen that before. The bagel was super tasty and the service was great. Bagel Love is a small shop but also has ordering kiosks. ANOTHER great bagel find in State College that I definitely recommend. Nice selection of bagel flavors and associated breakfast sandwiches. read more

I was really excited for this place but got a little confused when we actually got there. Love self-ordering kiosks, but these ones didn't have the same menu as what was posted! Visited every bagel shop in the area and all are delicious in their own respects, but Bagel Love is the only place I've found unique flavors, excellent quality, and excellent service together (including my favorite, fresh blueberry cream cheese, which I haven't found anywhere else!!!). Upon hearing my excitement about the blueberry cream cheese, the gentleman also included an extra container of it for me in my order for free!!! OMG words cannot express how much I love Bagel Love Cafe! My fiancé and I go in every weekend since we decided to try it out for the first time a few months ago. He loves The Hangover bagel, not only are they good, they have AMAZING blueberry bagels (better hurry and get them while they last - they're THAT good!) they also have the BEST customer service in State College! I frequent many bagel establishments but this one stood out. The nice guy who took our order made the experience, he offered suggestions and got us our food very quickly. The sandwich was good, but nothing I would really call home about. The service made the experience worthwhile and remedied the slightly above average breakfast. The cafe itself was very cute and would be a nice place to hang around doing work or catching up with friends. Best breakfast burrito in State College. The eggs are fluffy, the sauce is spicy, and the potatoes are seasoned perfectly-- plus, they know how to wrap a burrito so everything stays inside! The customer service was excellent! The bagel quality was great... but I needed to leave some comments on the sandwich I ordered. If I had to summarize the quality of my sandwich (the hangover) in one word, I would use clumsy. Ingredients haphazardly stacked, disproportionally spread across the bagel. The bagel was ordered triple toasted... it was not toasted, it was cold. The lack of care when making the sandwich is evident. This family owned establishment is a sister store to Toasted Bagel, which is what makes this experience shocking. Toasted bagel is the best bagel restaurant in the area, and their employees should train the workers of Bagel Love Café. Until the employees begin to care about the sandwiches the make for customers, I would recommend going to Toasted. read more
