Classic State College spot with that diner vibe. The food's just what you'd expect, solid breakfast, good prices, and fast service. Heads up though, it's usually packed, especially on weekends, so be ready to wait.

Warning: This establishment doesn't accept credit or debit cards. So bring cash or they have an ATM in the restaurant. This is a diner. The food is ok, the service is ok, the price is ok, the portions are ok, the menu is ok. Ok? :)

Lovely place every time I visit! The food was delicious and the service is always wonderful. It always feels like home when you walk in and hosts a beautiful family environment. The food again has the perfect amount of flavor and variety for everyone to enjoy!

So... while visiting state college we had breakfast here and we loved it. The food, the service and the college atmosphere was great. It's buzzing just like a college town. The food was great! I had the Georgia pecan waffle and my friend the Apple cinnamon one. My friend poured cream on her waffle mistaking it for syrup, oh I laughed and they were kind enough to replace. The fresh squeezed orange juice was delicious. I wish I had gotten a second glass. If you are in State College make sure this is a stop. There can be a wait, trust me, it's worth the wait.

this. was. the. best. breakfast. burrito. i've. ever. consumed. in. my. entire. life. i'm not a breakfast person nor was i feeling hungry even during brunch. but we were visiting our state college friend and he suggested coming here with the group. it was a really great price too for the meal. ~$11-12 i believe. even the pico de gallo was inhaled by me LOL. don't flame me but i would dip it in maple syrup and then add hot sauce to it. seriously, don't yuck my yum and don't knock it until you try it!! also, i understand why their home style potatoes/fries are famous for a reason. TOOOO GOOOD. the ambiance was lovely and cozy. they have booths and a few tables to offer :)) the staff is really friendly and patient too. i kept asking for a lot like hot sauce, coffee creamer, etc. they close at 2:00pm and we stayed until 2:15.. felt bad but that's on us for arriving late too. they let us finish our meal and pay out. i almost forgot my to-go box and one of the staff members brought it to me :') thank you, again ! if you're a visitor, freshmen of state college, or want to try something and don't really go out (or in the area/a student), really come check this out. it's a 5-10mins walk from the nearest parking. worth it.

Run, don't walk! Get ready to wait in line, but it's relatively quick and the food is awesome! Don't settle for the typical "chains" for breakfast or lunch. Go where the locals go and enjoy!!

My friends insisted that the Waffle Shop was a "must do" for my first time in State College, so of course we went for breakfast on Sunday before I left. When we arrived, I thought to myself, "There is no way I'm waiting in that line to eat breakfast food!" However, my boyfriend assured me that the line moves rather quickly, especially if you're in a group of 2. We only stood in line for about 15 minutes, bypassing some of the larger groups. There are a lot of unmovable 2 person tables in this specific location. It took our waitress a little while to come over, which is understandable because it was so busy. As I was waited, I browsed the menu. I thought the food was expensive! For 2 glasses of orange juice and two omelette meals, our bill was $31 without the tip included! I did notice, however, that during the weekdays, they have cheap specials for college students. They were much more affordable breakfast/lunch options. The fresh squeezed orange juice was amazing, but $3.25 per glass was a little steep for me. The Western omelet was a bit over cooked, leaving it slightly dry. The home fries had a great flavor, but I would recommend getting them "we'll done." Overall, it was a pretty average breakfast. Since it was pricey, I would probably try somewhere else on my next visit.

So many options! The cinnamon apple waffle is delicious. They accept cash, check or student cash if you go to penn state. No debit/credit cards and there is an ATM machine @ the restaurant.

My egg white omelet was delicious. However, you can only get it with hash browns or waffles. I did not eat either but they do NOT slow substitutions. They of course up charged me to have egg whites but didn't discount for not wanting any high carbohydrate, high calorie , empty nutrition sides. This was very irritating. My husband had scrambled eggs and bacon. The bacon looked very strange, not like any bacon I've ever seen, Photo attached. Too bad they don't get their meat locally. I'm basing this on the look of the bacon. This place doesn't look open from the outside even when it is open. Theirs a lot of room for improvements. Coffee very average.

The Spicy Mango Sriracha grilled naan was incredibly unique--the sweet and spicy combination worked perfectly. The fresh-baked pretzels are a must-try! We really enjoyed his history of the Prohibition era in downtown State College with the connecting tunnels to each restaurant/bar. As fate would have it, my Adventure Buddy and I found ourselves in State College on National Ice Cream Day, and there was absolutely no way I was leaving town without finally visiting the home of my favorite ice cream flavor ever...Monkey Business (banana ice cream, peanut butter swirl, chocolate chips). I'd fallen in love with Monkey Business last summer after trying it at an ice cream shop close to my house, but somehow I'd never actually made it to the Creamery itself. Correcting that oversight immediately became part of the day's adventure plan! We arrived around 12:30 on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, fully expecting National Ice Cream Day to mean complete chaos. Surprisingly, it wasn't. Busy? Absolutely. But the line moved quickly, everyone seemed to know exactly what they were doing and the whole operation ran like a well-oiled ice cream machine. Then I looked around. Cheese. Sticky buns. Chocolate milk. Bagels. Ice cream. Ice cream. More ice cream. At one point I turned to my Adventure Buddy and said..."I could live here." Ordering couldn't have been easier. First, you tell the cashier whether you're getting a cone, bowl or shake and pay. Then you move down to the ice cream counter, where you pick your flavor. Finally...you wait for your number to be called so someone can hand you what can only be described as an absurdly generous serving of happiness. While I waited, I sampled the Grilled Stickies flavor. Big mistake! It was phenomenal! For approximately fifteen seconds, I seriously considered abandoning my beloved Monkey Business and trying something new. Fortunately...I came to my senses. Monkey Business and I have history together. When my number was called, the gentleman behind the counter handed me a bowl that was significantly larger than I expected. And yes...I audibly squealed. Again. Right there in the middle of the Creamery. I looked at him and said, "You absolutely made my day!" Because he had. We found a table outside on the patio to enjoy the beautiful weather, performed a few completely necessary happy food dances and proceeded to enjoy every glorious bite of what is still, without question, my favorite ice cream flavor on Earth. For only $6. On National Ice Cream Day. Honestly, I don't know how that day could've gotten any better. PRO TIP: Don't skip the sample spoon! There are so many incredible flavors that it's worth trying something new before committing. Just be warned...you may accidentally discover another favorite! I also learned that Berkey Creamery ships ice cream to the lower 48 states. This information feels...dangerous. Living only about an hour and a half away, I probably don't need to have Monkey Business shipped directly to my house. But...I may have to test the process someday. You know...in the name of science! If you're anywhere near State College, do yourself a favor and make the stop. Whether you're a Penn State fan, an ice cream enthusiast or just someone who appreciates an exceptionally well-run small operation, Berkey Creamery absolutely lives up to its legendary reputation. WE ARE...ICE CREAM HEAVEN!
