My boyfriend and I tried out this place this morning, and we were very disappointed. He ordered the egg white turkey asiago bagel with provolone, and it completely lacked flavor. It truly did not taste like anything. I ordered an asiago bagel with veggie cream cheese and it was okay, but I noticed three-quarters through that it had a hair in it. We both also ordered a caramel iced coffee, and it was horrible. I asked for a plain coffee instead, and the man working was rude about it. 2 bagels and 2 coffees were $30. It was expensive and not good. We would not recommend this place. read more

Awful! The only reason they even get 2 stars is because they have nice outdoor seating on a main avenue. The best way to describe their bagels is that they taste like they came out of a package. I could've gone to my local supermarket and gotten Thomas brand bagels in a bag and they would've been better. I ordered a plain bagel with scallion cream cheese and didn't even finish it. Let's talk about food. A1 best jalapeño cheddar bagel I've ever had. Delicious and cream cheese to match. When I went Saturday, the bagels were late(delivered, not made in house) so I had to wait nearly a half hour after open to get my food. Now let's talk about the reason the 2 stars are removed. I ordered a vanilla cold brew and an iced caramel coffee. When they gave me a vanilla iced and caramel cold brew, I informed them women making the coffees and the cashier the order was incorrect. The woman who made the coffees went around the corner, counted to 3 Mississippi and came back saying they're fixed. Guess who lied? Guess what wasn't fixed? If I'm paying for an item, and tipping on top of it, please make sure it's what I ordered. I wasn't rude, but when you lie and obviously don't correct the order it's going to frustrate a customer. Look it was a busy morning I'm sure most are busy mornings, but there's no need to lie to patrons and to pretend to fix an order. Second & last time going here. Eating here today, I was told "we're no longer toasting the bagels." It was 9am. I ordered a chocolate chip with cream cheese. What I got was a stale bagel-- that seemed like a plain bagel because there were so few chocolate chips, untoasted with maybe 2 teaspoons of cream cheese. That was almost $6. My friend and I enjoyed a lovely breakfast at Bagel Time Cafe. We both ordered blueberry bagels, and I got mine with blueberry cream cheese and an orange juice. The bagel was excellent and evidently homemade! It was soft and fresh just the way I like it! The cream cheese was delicious as well, and I loved the generous schmear! It made for a satisfying breakfast that only cost $8! Bagel Time's service is fast and friendly. We asked lots of questions, and they cashier was more than happy to help us out. I was happy to see that they appeared to be renovating and expanding the cafe! I can't wait to see how it looks later in the season. Since it's only April, they had a bit of a limited menu, but I want to return and try the pancakes with toppings as well as the egg white, avocado, and pepper sandwich on a savory bagel. read more

We came here on our last day in Cape May to pick up some bagels and cream cheese for the next few days. The bagels weren't bad- they were fairly large, and had a variety of flavors (we got blueberry, egg, and everything). I asked for 10 bagels but they gave me 12, which I was very okay with when I opened the bags later that day. I asked for a medium lox cream cheese and a medium scallion cream cheese- they were almost out of lox, so they gave me a very small container of it, and I switched to a large scallion cream cheese. The whole order was ~$27. I swung by early in the morning, and there were a handful of families at tables. The inside didn't have much going on, and the bathroom was a little dirty, but they did have a nice patio for seating outside. I'd definitely be back to give them another try next time we are in Cape May! read more

This was a perfect stop for a quick breakfast! My friend and I both ordered the blueberry bagel, after much deliberation. I ordered mine toasted with butter and my friend ordered her's untoasted, with blueberry cream cheese. We both agreed that the bagels were amazing! They were soft, crisp on the outside, and flavorful. They weren't tough or hard at all. They were also a descent size, which we loved! Actual Bagel = 4.25 stars Service = Closer to 3 Came here this morning before heading back to NYC after a couple of days in peaceful Cape May. I was sick of having really bad omelettes so I convinced my husband to get a bagel and head to the road instead. As a New Yorker of course my bagel expectations are pretty high. I have to say the bagel was really good. Huge, soft inside, perfect consistency. By 10:30am they were out of the sesame bagel, multi grain everything, and a BUNCH of other options. I went for the white everything bagel (which I later regretted, my stomach wasn't ready for everything), and scallion cream cheese. They didn't have decaf iced coffee so I opted for the decaf latte instead. My husband got the bacon egg and cheese on a plain bagel and a black iced coffee. I have to say the woman behind the counter was middle aged and super polite, certainly had a manager/or owner attitude which was great. She asked for my name, and my husband and I waited at a nearby table for our food/coffees. Total for everything was $19.10 which i thought was a little high but totally okay if they delivered in quality. The tables inside were small, and it was annoying to see so many flies in there, though I guess during this of year it's inevitable. My husband and I got a pretty bad sunburn during the weekend so though seating al fresco was available we chose inside AC seating instead. The rest of the staff working there was pretty young, all under 20 I'm sure. I think most of the places in cape May are open April to November so it may be tough to secure seasonal staff only and I think that's why mostly all staff in all restaurants that we visited were very young. The young server came over with our iced drinks and threw them on the table, which startled my husband and I. She definitely needs further training on customer service. Also my husbands black iced coffee had a lot of space for milk, which he didn't want (hence black). Then I heard my name by the counter; our bagels were ready, yay! I went over and picked up our bagels. My bagels was wrapped oddly, my husbands looked perfect. I opened the wrapper for my bagel, and was surprised by the conservative amount of cream cheese, which is surprising because bagel places are usually super generous with their cream cheese. The other half of my bagel was even more surprising as it was missing cream cheese on a full quarter of the bagel. Of course I got up and asked for more. The bagel and spread were good, and my decaf latte was really good too, but I really feel like their staff need more training. Anyways all that to say, of course I would be back, and while consider arriving much earlier so that I don't miss out on a larger variety of bagels. read more

It is a pretty small gem. I am not really a big bagel person, but this is one of the best bagels I've ever had. one of their Breakfast sandwiches (highly recommend), an Asiago Bagel with garlic cream cheese, and an iced vanilla late which were really good. They have a variety of cream cheeses and bagels you can pick from. The only problem is my sister wanted to try a latte and she forgot to order it. (Note this was 30 minutes before I drank my iced vanilla latte). But the person on the counter said that they do not have anymore vanilla milk which was a bummer. read more

You can take the coffee snob out of LA - land of pretentious coffee shops - , but that doesn't mean she still won't crave good coffee elsewhere. I discovered Bagel Time a few days into my week enjoying Cape May, after my friend recommended it to me. I had been disappointed by all the other "lattes" from the "coffee shops". Damn, the owner knows how to pull an espresso shot! And you're telling me I can get a LARGE iced almond milk latte for less than $5?! That ish would be $7 in LA. You can tell the owner really puts time and attention and love into his business. I didn't get a chance to try the bagels, but a woman in line with me today said "these are the best bagels, and I've tried them all." By the end of the week, all my friend were raving about Bagel Time, and my brother also really liked their black-and-white cookie. Honestly, for a place where you go to get bagels, it's just right. I tend to go with a bacon, egg, and cheese on a plain or Asiago bagel plus a side of hash browns. I've also done the western "omelette" on a bagel. They're not breaking new ground here, but it's a good, delicious product, reasonably priced, and fast. For my taste the hash browns are a surprise highlight to the menu. They're simple, seasoned just right, and I could probably make a meal out of just them (well... maybe 2-4 orders of them). read more

What a great find in Cape May. We ended up parking a block before this and needed breakfast. They have so many bagel and cream cheese options. I got the multigrain bagel with the bacon lox and scallion cream cheese spread. AMAZE!!! There wasn't too much cream cheese, perfect amount of smear! I also got a side of eggs, I like the combo of the eggs and cream cheese on my bagel. I know, I'm weird. Eggs were cooked perfectly and fluffy. I got their iced coffee and it was also good. The food was pretty good here, but lost points for service. We stood in a long line to order food to eat at a table and they said we had to go to the table to order. Then when we got the check we had to stand in another long line to actually pay the check.
