Sorry, I had to revise my review. When I first started coming here (September '13) the bagels were nice and chewy but over the last couple of months they became soft and fluffy. My family complained to me that the bagels I was bringing home were not so good and I should go back to the supermarket to get those (yikes!). I don't know what changed in their process but the bagels really aren't the same. The owners are super nice and the fillings I am told are delicious but for us it's all about the bagel, fortunately another shop opened up by Home Depot. read more

I've been eating bagels for 50 years and these are as good as any I have ever had. They are easily the best ever in Duchess county. The staff is friendly and attentive. All the foods, salads and pastries as well as the bagels, look fresh and hand-made. It is generally more expensive, much more so compared to the supermarkets. So after reading reviews I decided to tryout the shop. I walked in and no one at counter seem to acknowledge that someone walked in. At the same time it was very slow. Menu posted on wall said home frie sides were 50cents but as I got rung up they weighed the potatoes and charged me $7.65 for the side. I figured no problem I really enjoy home fries and I don't mind leftover. Well let's just say I didn't like the seasoned, bland, cool potatoes and will probably not be going back any time soon. Great place! As soon as we walked in, I knew I'd be happy here. The bright colors, unique variety of bagels and cream cheese flavors, and the friendly smiles were enough to make me want to come back before I'd even ordered. I hate reviewing chains but this place was great. The bagels are fresh and there are so many to chose from. Their homemade cream cheeses are winners. Favorite was the garlic. If you have kids (God bless you) come here for the rainbow bagel! They'll love it. If you have a girlfriend, she'll probably love it too. Actually, everyone will love it. So go pick up a few. Just had the New York, New York (pastrami and corn beef) which was tender and not too greasy. The chocolate croissant was delicious and the coffee was also good. They have a lot of choices, the place is clean and upbeat with friendly service. They make all their bagels and muffins on premise and they look so tasty - next time I'll try something different! read more

Really unsure why this place has 4 stars...? My boyfriend and I got bacon egg and cheese on everything's. Really not too hard to mess up you'd think, amiright? I'm sorry but am I the only one who thinks their bagels are awful?! I've been there three times to keep giving it a chance but the bagels are hard and tough to chew. Pretty good bagels from the selection of places around here but definitely had better. Service is slow it takes a long time to get your food. Not crazy long but compared to most it feels like a long time. Also one time I got bagels with lox and when I got home I realized they gave me lox cream cheese not slices lox like I had paid for. Just went in with my wife at 5:40 pm for a couple of hot sandwiches for dinner..guy walks out the back says the grill is closed?! So we ask what time does it close?! He says 6pm and walks away from us..when he finally comes back we remind him it is only 5:40?! He said..I said 5:30?! They stop making hot sandwiches at 5:30 or is it 6pm?! Stopped in there today for lunch - the Manager is always so friendly and helpful, as are the staff (except for one short woman with a tude); great place to grab a bagel or panini or salad, etc - however, the owner does not seem to want to pay for air conditioning! His poor employees looked like they were sweltering! It was so hot in there, of course no one would go in to sit and eat. I took my food to go, I mean it was boiling in the place and has been all summer!!!! Whoever the owner is he or she is going to lose a lot of customers this summer if they haven't already! It does not matter what time of day you stop by the bagels are always soft and fresh. The cream cheese selection is more than I have ever seen at any other bagel shop. I overlooked many things because it was close, but this is it! the bagel toaster has been broken for a month now, so the bagels don't get toasted properly. They cut the bagels with a dirty knife which they "clean " with a dirty towel. Everything in this place is unnatural fake and disgusting. Everything I tried this place it got me sick. Their bagels might have softeners and conditioners in it to make it unnaturally soft and chewy which is fine but I do not enjoy. Owner does not seem so nice. They also dump their chemical filled, dyed colored cupcakes and muffins by the wappingers creek. I have noticed that even the birds do not want them. Gross. Went to the new KIngston Location, they finally opened! Orders 4 Everything bagels, White fish salad and a Seafood salad TO GO, she repeated our order twice and also said that she has no idea what is in the seafood salad and made no attempt to find out. When we reached our destination, we opened the bag and discovered that we received 4 EGG bagels, HERRING salad and the seafood salad. She got one right! maybe next time (if there will be one) we should just ask for bagels and some salads and let them decide what we get, sorry guys, Sunrise Bagels is still the best in town with a quick and friendly service. read more

I very picky with what I eat and these bagels made me physically ill. Bronx Bagels are way better right across the street in the Home Depot plaza. These bagels taste fresh. There was something about the Bagel World bagel that made me sick at first bite. I even gave them a few more tries. Yuck. They cater to the new wannabe yuppie wappinger crowd so maybe those people really do not know good bagels. The owner/manager? creeps me out. The cream cheeses and other things are so over priced for gross food. They need to focus on their mediocre bagels and stop trying to be every fast food restaurant up and down route 9. Love there bagels. I've been here a couple of times and I have never left disappointed. My kids love watching the bakers(cooks?) making the bagels through the big window that looks into the kitchen. I drove past Rudy's Bagel's being I have not been to happy with them but being they are the only game in town, it was where I USED to go. Rudy's was a little lacking in the cleanliness department, a lot in the service department, and the bagels were just barely a step up from Dunkin Bagels. So I decided to drive an extra 5 minutes and see if the trip was worth it. Well I am so glad I stopped here! Besides the obvious question, yes the bagels were excellent, there waa a guy hand rolling them, behind some glass, while I ordered. The interior was also very clean and updated. It looked very inviting to just sit down and enjoy some food or even just a cup of coffee (next trip!). What was also very differnet was an actually flat top grill! No bank of microwaves to nuke up bland eggs and rubbery bacon like Rudy's and Dunkin etc. Why anyplace thinks that microwaved eggs and bacon is the way to go is beyond me. To me it's just lazy and sacrifices quality for their convenience. At Bagel Wolrd I ordered a dozen bagels, a couple muffins (not on my list but I couldn't resist!), some cream cheese, and some lox which was a Sunday special. When I checked out, the owner couldn't have been friendlier to me and made me feel at home. He knew the majority of the customers by name and greeted them as they walked in while he and the rest of the staff ran around like a well oiled machine. Just prior to paying I ordered a coffee (also great coffee!) and the owner said it was on the house. I thought it was a nice gesture, it wouldn't have killed me to pay nor hurt him to include it, but to me, good bussiness. On my last trip to Rudy's, my son wanted to get the $5 double everything bagel sandwich which was microwaved (I know I already mentioned the microwaves but I couldn't help myself). Well when my son got his microwaved bland egg and rubbery bacon sandwich, he saw the sign posted that said free coffee. Soooooo, when I went to pay for it I asked about the coffee and the woman couldn't have been happier to shoot me down and inform me that the free coffee deal was only until 10am. It was now 10:20 and I guess rules are rules but to me, not good bussiness and good motivation for me to drive an extra 5 minutes to find a real bagel shop. So glad I actually did and being so much better, it is well worth the extra 5 min drive! read more

Just stopped in to try their bagels and was very pleasantly surprised. while I haven't tried every bagel place in this area, I have a feeling that these could be the best anywhere near here. They have a really large selection and while I didn't have a chance to sample the many other offerings here, they all looked very good, and everything seemed fresh and well displayed. I think the place looks clean and fancy. However, they never say hello when you enter. I work in the food service and it make people feel welcomed. My main problem with the service it they don't change their gloves after they handle money, Then they handle food. By the third time I said that's enough. I don't feel they are properly trained. They also put way to much cream cheese on a bagel, enough to do two bagels but at least your getting your moneys worth. read more
