Came here a few weeks ago and everyone was kind and food was delicious. What really makes me love this business is that when a homeless man asked for an empty gallon of milk to be filled for drinking water the employee filled it and told him get any size bottle from the fridge. He then asked if he could have something to eat and the employee happily hooked him up. One customer offered to leave extra money to pay for his food and they declined stating they always take care of him. The bagels here are some of the best on the island. I've noticed the prices inch up lately but if you are willing to pay about $6 for a bacon egg and cheese on a roll, than you won't be disappointed. Just don't say I didn't warn you when you end up breaking more than just a $20 on a couple of items. I do wish they would hire people other than the grumpy old men or young teens that take your order. Like I get that you've been up since 5am working, but the attitude is not warranted. They always seem to talk to you as if you are inconveniencing them about ordering food. Other than the lackluster employees, it's still a decent bagel shop. Definitely not the best on the island, but still far above what is considered average. Their candy selection has a few expired items that have sat on the shelves for a while now, but that's pretty standard with bagel shops. Overall, I'll keep coming here for the bagels if they keep producing top quality bagels. Which they have been for quite some time now, even voted best in SI. However, the prices are quite high. Service was fine but took a long time to place my order. I ordered a dozen bagels and got three free. Not a bad deal for $15.00 i thought. Took them home to feast on. Not very fresh, more of a bread than a bagel consistency. Flavor a bit lacking. More of a corner grocery store bagel than what you would expect for a store titled bagels and buns. Love this place! Have been going here for about a year now. Before I discovered Bagels & Buns, the only place to be satisfied was in Manhattan where the bagels cost $6.00 a pop! Bagles and Buns you can find a great bagel with even better spreads and cream cheeses than in Manhattan. Olive pimento cream cheese, bacon scallion cream cheese, vegetable, lox... the possibilities are unlimited. They also have a very nice bakery section with brownies and muffins and danishes. Cold cuts and deli area is always clean and fresh, sandwiches never dissappoint. Sometimes on a Saturday or Sunday morning the line can get backed up, but I have never waited more than 5-7 minutes. (Well worth it). Another bonus is the crew of guys that work the bagel / deli area. It's always a pleasure to see them in the morning and I usually get the same young man every time I go in, and he remembers my order before I say it. That said there was a young small brunette girl behind the counter who was FaceTiming on her phone while there was a line that was practically out the. While attempting the checkout she continue to converse on her phone and then with the other girl who was working the register. This place is on the small size for bagel selection, but I was satisfied with my dozen. The everything has a ton of everything stuck to it, and I LOVED the amount of raisins in the cinnamon raisin here. My only gripe is that the bagels have a very big hole in them. I live in West Brighton, where bagel stores are a dime a dozen, and I still drive all the way to Bagels & Buns when I'm in need of a delicious bagel. At my local bagel store, the bagels taste stale no matter what time of the day I go in there, but not at Bagels & Buns! Every time I go in my bagel is soft and fresh. I even went here with my mom and sister for Mother's Day and at around 12 pm they were still cranking out bagels that were hot and fresh. The staff is always friendly with speedy service. First time customer and I will say this :Amazing bagels, but horrendous customer service. I get there and there are already two people ahead of me complaining that no one has taken their order. I thought nothing of it, but suddenly a teenager and a guy in his mid thirties steps up and says how can I help you. They take the orders of the customers in front of me and I'm next, the teenager helps me and while I'm ordering, he starts talking to a guy in the back and puts up his pointer finger as to signal to wait a minute; a bit rude but I shrugged it off. Then he walks to the back with no explanation and never comes back to take the rest of my order. Another guys step up and starts taking everyone's orders behind me. I politely mention that my order was not complete and he says "what's up?" I patient tell him I had not completed my order and tell him I needed to order a Sesame bagel with cream cheese he makes it quickly and throws it in a bag. When I explain to him I'm still waiting for the rest of my order he looks at me and waves me off. After 20 minutes of no communication the teenager comes back with my other 2 sandwiches. He apologized for the wait which I guess was him trying to make up for rudely walking away. Overall the bagels were good but not worth the rudeness of the employees also the fashion in which they take orders is a zoo, completely disorganized. I won't be back. read more

This is a tough review for me because I really love this place but last few times we haven't had great experiences. I ordered 3 bagels with whitefish salad ($5.99 each) and when we got home to eat it, we had a hard time FINDING the whitefish salad on the bagel! It looks like someone put it on and the wiped it all off with just a trace of it left behind. Very disappointing because this is not how they used to be. They used to put enough that it was oozing out and you could TASTE it. To be fair, their bagels are amazing and so is their chicken salad and they make nice sandwiches.
