Went to this place after getting off the road all the way from Westchester with my elderly mother because she wanted eggplant Parmesan and she had eaten from this place before when a relative was staying at a hospital rehabilitation center nearby and remembered the food being good, so we went to have some lunch. We were seated in the outdoor area, which is nice on a humid day as You can get a decent breeze. 99% of the people who were there were just enjoying their their food and socializing, We decided to sit at a table near a window for whatever reason there was a gentleman at this table who decided that it was okay for him to vape while he was sitting down instead of exiting the restaurant. Not only did he decide that it was okay to vape, he decided that it was okay to blow his vapors onto my mother's head and engulf us in his gaping experience. Instead of noticing (full time hostess in the immediate area), automatically reseating us, apologizing and telling the man that is NOT okay to vape in the restaurant I had to flag a server down and let them know that we wanted a different table. Pretty good service but I really thought that that was a gross oversight on part of the restaurant like indoor smoking is illegal in the first place and vaping really isn't any better (arguably worse depending on what scientific data you're looking at), plenty people have respiratory issues and just preference period. No one should be forced to sit anywhere where a no vaping policy isn't being enforced in 2026. Really disappointed that I can't give this place a higher than a three star rating as a result because the food is pretty good and the servers were quick and pleasant, but the smoking issue to me is a gross oversight as far as basic customer service goes. People shouldn't be made to feel like they're being weird for wanting a different table because they don't want to be surrounded by anything but oxygen, Do better folks. Tried to call and speak with a manager BEFORE leaving this review, was left on hold for close to 10 mins however manager was extremely apologetic and pretty appalled he personally stated that vaping IS against their policy and that the staff should have absolutely been enforcing that. Welp, that's what complaints are for right? Food is decent and staff is respectful but I don't know if I'd go back given that experience if I have alternative choices in the area just trying to enjoy some lunch, drama and discomfort is not necessary indoor vaping is outlawed for a reason people violating that shouldn't get to just go about their day with zero consequences while everyone else is annoyed or having their lung / cardiovascular health put at risk involuntarily. Service was okay, bunch of kids. I usually see long lines of people waiting on the pastry side. But we walked in and they sat us right way. The food didn't take long. Hamburgers, mozzarella, broccoli rabe and calamari were all very good. Great fries btw. Cappuccino was also very good so was the pistachio cheesecake. But I wasn't crazy about the chocolate covered cannoli the cream wasn't my favorite. Next time I'll take a better picture. read more

This is very likely the best bakery on Staten Island. Actually, it's probably in the running for the best bakery in New York City. I'm guessing, but I'd put it up against any bakery in the tri-state... or maybe the entire country.. or the world, even. The prosciutto bread.. the cannolis.. the sandwiches.. the soups... and now they have chocolate sourdough. Oh my god. I weigh 200 lbs at 6' and 75 of those pounds are easily from Royal crown bakery. Pro tip: they make donuts on the weekends, perfect for my Sunday "cheat day" AND the prices are better than Dunkin' Donuts, so why would you ever eat that cardboard yuck when this option is available? If you plan to go, make sure to wear sweatpants or plan on undoing the top button of your jeans. read more

Came here for the pastries so I can only opine on those but wow are they delicious. They have tons of options from lobster tails to cupcakes to cakes for affordable prices. We got a collection of items: Lobster tail with french cream - HUGE and filled with cream. Loved how flaky the pastry was and every bit was filled with cream. Chocolate dipped pistachio cookie - delicious! This was my first time trying something like it and I loved how nutty and not too sweet it was. Chocolate covered cannoli - also huge, filled with cream and delicious. We ate it the next day and the shell was still crispy and tasted fresh. I worked in Staten Island a few times and the guys would go get sandwiches from here, when we had a busy day. Everything I ever ate here was really good, food and desserts. The parking is a little tough , but there's plenty of seating to enjoy your breakfast or lunch. I go there any chance I get and I live in Long Island, border of Nassau and Suffolk County. I've been coming here for years & firmly believe they have the best bagels on NYC. Their chocolate chip bagel in & of itself is so damn heavenly, you don't even need to put cream Cheese on it. It's chocolaty & soft all by itself. They have a huge selection of breads & cakes to choose from. I tried the Olive bread which absolutely phenomenal. It's soft & airy with s ton of olives stuffed inside of it. Got a cake from here for my birthday as well. Staff is friendly & they work fast like a well oiled machine. My job and I order royal crown religiously. However, today we placed an order containing few orders of penne vodka which was great, but then there was the shrimp parm (we order frequently) came rubbery, dry and inedible. The sandwich was completely microwaved. I called the store to make a complaint. The manager/owner came on the phone saying "i make 50-60 shrimp parms a day with no complaint" I told him ok but today i have a complaint it's absolutely disgusting and too rubbery to bite into. He admitted they fry the shrimp and then microwave them to melt the cheese. Then, he tells me in order to help he would need the sandwich back to show his kitchen. Horrible customer service. However, the person who ordered the sandwich was so disgusted it was thrown out. He then rudely said there is nothing he can do. I don't recommend ordering from here. The proper customer service would have been to either credit or replace it. I never dealt with a place that demanded their screw up back. read more

TLDR; Great food, great bread, fast service. Royal Cucina is an icon for Staten Island! Their food is consistently so fresh and delicious. I love to get sandwiches, and my favorite is the chicken parm, this time I got it with vodka sauce. The bread is just so unique, phenomenal light crispy outside texture and pillowy inside feel. Definitely the highlight of the sandwich. After all, they are affiliated with Artesian Bakery, which specializes in bread and baked goods. I can't possible overrate their service, they have a well oiled system from the 15+(estimate) kitchen staff mini army to the energetic and quick cashiers. Props to them. It has one of the nicest bakery windows in the city. Their customer service is a master class on New York City customer service - no nonsense and super efficient. They are my go to example of New York City customer service - lightning fast, 17-year-olds who get you in and out happily. I love it here. This is one of my favorite places in the city. read more

I went in to a get a few things this morning and the service behind the counter was absolutely horrible. The girls helping were very sarcastic and arrogant. They need better help. When you work in customer service thats not the way to speak and treat customers. Napkins were left on the counter by the cash register and the girl helping me looked to see if i left her a tip on my card after paying and then said sarcastically, thanks for leaving that there and grabbed it and threw it out yet that was not mine and that was already there from someone else. And then the person behind me online was skipped one or two times so she was looking for someone to help her and she asked one of the girls if she was available because she had been skipped and the girl answered her very sarcastically I'm busy helping somebody else and made a face.
