You pick what you want and then you give your order; then if you're staying you get a number on a stick and you go to a table and sit down and wait for them to deliver your food... but wait; if you ordered hot beverages as we did two large coffees, they'll call your name and you gotta go back up there and pick up your own coffees and bring them back to your table .. Let's start with their coffee; we found their regular coffee to be a little disappointing; my coffee would be more like some kind of a watered down tea with a hint of Cardamom in it.. I asked my wife four times this taste like tea not coffee even she agreed; she went up to the counter and asked the gentleman. What kind of coffee do you guys use ?? honestly a very disappointing cup of coffee in my opinion... So we ordered a stack of pancakes; we ordered the ones with caramel came with fruit, bananas, blueberries walnuts; we both agreed this is the star of the show order the pancakes You won't be disappointed.... Don't forget to ask for butter this place serves pancakes without butter ?? I really wanted an American breakfast. Thought I was gonna get some corn beef hash & eggs ?? Not here in fact the Girl told me she only had two kinds of omelettes on the menu ?? The Wife wanted a simple bacon, egg and cheese on something preferably a bagel; but they only had a plain bagel croissant or a brioche ??? So she opted for a BLT; she ended up getting that on a brioche; not your American BLT for sure. I guess they use some kind of high end organic bacon or something ; Sorry it was just OK.... Found the bacon to be a bit gamy tasting.. I ordered the cream cheese and lox on a bagel with a Schmear; this was also pretty good; the Bagel for me is an epic fail definitely not a real authentic Bagel definitely a commercial Bagel trust me I know I use to own a bagel store so what I did was I just slid the cream cheese and the lox to 1/2 of the bagel and ate half. Take a look at the pictures the food looks incredible; the way they plate it & present it very nice !!! After watching all the clientele that were coming in and going out, we could tell this is for the younger kids, younger generation, the millennials the yuppies and I mean no disrespect by that !! Very big coffee selection cold and hot; as far as the cold beverage selection, just take a look at the pictures; when you look in their refrigerators and you could only really identify two of the beverages by their brand names, Ya just know this spot just might not be for you.... Lol The service was great; very fast and friendly; their dining room room was very clean; just a heads up we were freezing today; mind you I had sweatpants on and a hoodie and I was cold. The door seems to stay open so I can imagine how it's gonna get in there in the colder months... tip; if you don't like to be cold while dining move as close as you can to the kitchen; we watched three tables, get up and move closer to the kitchen because they were complaining about the cold air coming in.... We've been in the food business for years and what we learned is this; KISS AND THAT STANDs STANDS FOR KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID !! we found it works over 50 years in business, maintain consistency, and integrity. Honestly, no.; would I come back again yes no maybe if I was in the area. would I drive out of my way like I did today 20 minutes to get here? Definitely not. I had the Chicken and waffles, served hot and the chicken had a nice crunch, I also had to have the Sally's French toast with Unicorn sugar, yes, I said Unicorn sugar! My drink was coconut caramel latte from the adult iced coffees menu. So delicious. I shared the pancake trio and the Monroe with my son. The pancakes were all really good. We had gotten the strawberry cheesecake, the caramel pecan, and the blueberry lemon. I think my son really liked the strawberry cheesecake. I thought the blueberry lemon were great. The pancakes tasted like they used some sort of lemon zest or something in the batter, as the lemon really shined through nicely. My eggs were a little overcooked, but the bacon was pretty spot on. I had also gotten a hot chocolate which I thought was good, although there was some powdered mix that was not fully incorporated in the bottom. My biggest gripe was they automatically added an 18% gratuity to all parties of two or more, and if you were going to do that, just raise your prices and have a no-tipping policy. I am sure there are solo diners, but basically everyone is getting charged the 18%, so just raise your prices so there is more transparency for what you are being charged since there was literally no single diners there when I was there. There was also a few price things on our bill that I wasn't thrilled about. Their menu has listed items that are additional for an upcharge. When I had ordered the Monroe, I had the option to add cheese to it, and they asked if I would like any cheese with it, so I said sure. The little bit of cheese was an extra $1.50, and I feel like being that they have other things that they clearly called out as an upcharge, they should have let me know it was an extra $1.50 for this. Also on the bill, they charged me for oat milk for my hot chocolate. I had to draw this to their attention that I hadn't ordered oat milk. they merely said, "well we mixed it in." That's not the point, it did taste a little off, and I specifically ordered a regular hot chocolate. While they took the 50 cents off, it did feel like they were just nickeling and diming me on some things. Overall, I had an okay experience. The pancakes were good, but the service was friendly. By the time we left, the place was completely packed and people were waiting outside so I think that speaks to how good the food is and maybe I just had a slightly less positive experience.
