I used to live close to this place and would go often. Now I don't live close anymore and I miss it. It's hard to find a bagel place as good as Bageltowne Deli in this area. Bageltowne Deli is my mother's favorite bagel place. It's pretty close to her house, they have a wide variety of other things on the menu. They have everything a little Jewish style deli should have (including the all important, at least to me: Whitefish salad). My mother has a bagel everyday, ya know cause that's apparently what her generation learned would keep the doctor away. So when the Covid 19 crisis started and I offered to run out and get a couple of items for her, her first request was for bagels. Now, the great thing about Bageltowne Deli is that they do catering orders and what not. And with that, if you're serious about what types of bagels you want, you can call up in the morning and have bagels set aside for you for later that day. Basically, you can get your pick of the litter, and litter is a insane amount of delicious flavors of bagels. I went to pick up her bagels and the woman who I always see there, who is very nice, rung me up and as she was doing that, I got jealousy of my mother and all her delicious bagels and picked up a dozen for myself. Best choice I've made in a long time. They had hand sanitizer on the counter #MuchAppreciated and the whole place is kept very clean. Would definitely recommend Bageltowne to anyone in the area who wants a solid bagel and a nice atmosphere to enjoy it in (when things get back to normal). Ate here (takeout) for the first time because it appeared on a Yelp! collection and I was in the neighborhood, so I figured I'd try. 9:45 am on a rainy Sunday morning, perfect time for a bagel! I was around the corner from BagelTowne Deli and had a hankering! So I decided to come on down to BagelTowne! (Apologies to Guy Fieri!) Attractive store with easy parking in an upscale retail development. Seating area is pleasant, and everything seems clean. Ordering process was a bit odd, it was unclear where the line starts/ends. All the action is in front of the registers, there is a long line-waiting area coming from the door from the parking lot, but there is no menu there, so if you were waiting in line you can't see what items to order. I knew what I wanted before arriving (Everything bagel toasted, nova lox, cream cheese, tomato, onion) and there it was on the menu. Short wait, easy to order one item to go. As I waited I observed a bit of confusion in the order fulfillment process. There are online orders, phone orders, catering orders, and it seemed like one interfered with the other to the consternation of the staff. Workers did not seem friendly and happy, they seemed annoyed, confused, unsure. My order did not have a number or a name attached to it, so I was wondering how they would figure out who I am to give me the order. After a brief wait, a worker calls out "nova lox on bagel, was that to go or for here?" and looked in my direction (I was the only one waiting around). I had ordered to go, item was prepared to dine in. No big deal, but it confirmed my suspicion that workflow had not been thought through. I took my bag and went home, made coffee, ate my bagel sandwich. Good, nothing wrong with it. But compared to some other local establishments and those in the NY/NJ area (see my other reviews), not in the same league. Nice little sandwich shop. This is my second time coming here. I told myself I would order some sort of bagel sandwich since the name of the deli is Bageltowne. That didn't happen because I saw the deal they had for steak and cheese and decided that's what I want. The steak and cheese with chips is good. I would prefer fries but you can't go wrong. Honestly, the ambient vibes and good music here feels like a home away from home. At BagelTowne Deli, I feel the most comfortable and productive in doing work and getting things done. The bagels here are excellently made. I like to either get Nova on the Run or Everything Bagel with Green Onion cream cheese. I volunteered to pickup 3 dozen bagels for work. I scheduled it for 7:15 am pickup. I don't think it can get any fresher. They were warm and still warm when I got them to work. I personally like this local bagel shop/deli! It's very homey and run by this Asian couple who looks like they're trying their best to provide the best. I absolutely love bagels with cream cheese, so I get the garlic bagel with egg and ham and lite cream cheese every time and I've gotten a great one every time. It's generally quick and I get it to go every time. I eat half for breakfast and save the other half for an early lunch. It's a reasonable size for the price! Plus, I gotta say, I like how much egg(s) they give haha! I also like how they have such a variety of bagels and cream cheeses to choose from, so if you like to try different combos, I doubt you'll get bored of this place! We also got a side of chicken salad for another day. 4 stars instead of 5 as the bread for the Rachel was a little soggy - should've been toasted, and they forgot out side of pasta salad that came with it. Also, we showed up a few minutes before 4 to grab our to-go order and felt like they wanted to get out of there immediately - it didn't feel open. 4 stars still because food was good, especially the lox bagel. Today I asked for a "small coffee" and after finishing it I was in the mood for another one. I went to the counter and asked for another coffee and paid for it. After I told the owner that they could refill my existing empty cup the owner told me that refills were free. Even after I told her it was Ok to charge me she voided the receipt and gav me my free refill. This is great service. I thought the gesture was good. I was in the area waiting to pick up my husband from a nearby outpatient center. Just because he couldn't eat, didn't mean I wasn't going to :) Not many options to pass the time in a pandemic. So I placed my order and drove over to pick it up. I ordered an everything bagel with scallion cream cheese just like another reviewer mentioned. I also got a cup of coffee which I was able to fix there when I ran inside to pick it up. Super easy and convenient. Would have given it another star but some of the everything bits were burnt and the cream cheese was a bit runny. That may be totally my own fault as I should have asked for it on the side to smear on myself after the bagel cooled. It was very nice and clean inside. This is my go to lunch spot when I'm studying at the Shady Grove University library. I've gone numerous times now, and they are very consistent with their menu options. My favorite is definitely the chicken salad sandwich. You have the option of ordering your sandwich on different types of bread if you're not the bagel obsessed, but they do offer a wide variety of bagel flavors if you're feeling adventurous. The price is a little high for a sandwich, however, portions are large and include a pickle and a side. My favorite was the pasta salad, with the potato salad coming in at close second. Strolled into this place as there are very limited places open due to COViD and I must say, the service was impeccable. The nice man at the register is so kind and helpful, a real gem! The place has a Panera-type vibe in the seating area, but the menu and display cases speak fresh Jewish deli. We opted for breakfast and were not disappointed, so much so that we returned again two days later. The challah French toast is amazing. I would give this place a 9 out of 10 and my only recommendation would be to make the menu more presentable in store as the hand-written items taped up on a piece of paper are kinda tacky. Five stars for the fantastic deli sandwiches! Bageltowne is a Jewish-style deli that serves up some of the best sandwiches in the area. They're served on thick slices of good bread, and are stuffed with thinly-sliced, high-quality meats, cheeses and toppings. My favorite is the 'Mitzvah': roast beef, turkey, and muenster cheese, with your choice of toppings & condiments. I get mine on toasted rye, and it's perfect. Other favorites include the 'Bubbe' (turkey, swiss, coleslaw, russian dressing) and the 'Not So Kosher' (ham, turkey, bacon, muenster), and each one is generously-filled and satisfying. Sandwiches come with your choice of side (chips, potato salad, fruit salad, etc.), and there's a wide range of options for drinks, desserts, etc. For breakfast, the bagel sandwiches (ham, egg & cheese, etc.) are good and plenty filling. As some note, the bagels aren't quite as crusty/chewy as you might get elsewhere, but they're still good. I've been here many times, and the service has always been fast, friendly and efficient.
