(the coleslaw was only ok). I really liked that the condiments came separately so each guest could schmeer as much or as little as they wanted. (Or in my case, purist that I am, avoid altogether). We were seated immediately and had water brought to our table. Menu was extensive, with overstuffed sandwich classics like Reubens and clubs, salads and classic fare like knishes and lox. They also serve breakfast all day. I had the grilled veggie wrap. It came with homestyle potato chips. My companion had a tuna melt (solid albacore) with pepper jack cheese on an English muffin (also with chips). Both portions were huge. The veggies were still crunchy but cooked thoroughly (zucchini, squash, peopers and onions) with red pepper hummus stuffed in a huge burrito style spinach tortilla. Comfort food done well. The guys behind the counter made it a true experience. Nicest guys I've met so far. Only other Kosher deli I can compare Attman's to is Sherman's Deli in Palm Springs, CA. Pastrami on a hoagie, mustard, cheese and pickles is my reason for visiting any deli. Not a fan of having to pay for everything "extra charge" , but it was good just the same. Not Sherman's. Been here a time or two now. I almost always get the pastrami on rye and it's been good but not great. Kind of fatty pieces and considering the price, it's not worth it in my opinion. Parking is okay and a little busy because of the other establishments in the area. Staff didn't really greet us or do anything in the service aspect. Attman's Delicatessen puts the deli in delicious! I have been craving a Reuben sandwich and onion rings. Today, I got my craving filled and boy, was it delicious. Lots of yummy corned beef, perfectly toasted rye bread, gooey melted cheese, sauerkraut, and tasty sauce. It was a perfect sandwich. I also ordered crunchy, crispy, onion rings which were excellent. My friend ordered the matzah ball soup with her sandwich. She said it was fabulous. She had the biggest matzah ball I have ever seen. She also ordered the pastrami sandwich and really enjoyed that too. Service was great! They have a large menu and we took some time to decide on our order. Our waitress was kind and professional. The food came out quickly and we enjoyed every bite. The deli was clean and comfortable. The pickle bar was very popular. So, why 4 stars, just the higher price. This was a traditional Jewish deli that had tons of different options to choose from. They had overstuffed sandwiches to burgers to breakfast choices available all day. The order was placed on the phone and ready upon pickup. I went with the Stu's Saratoga Special ($21.99?). It was a triple decker sandwich with hot corned beef, pastrami, Swiss cheese, coleslaw, and Russian dressing. This also came with a pickle and a side of chips. This was the smallest size to choose from, but it was still large specifically how much meat there was. Both meats were very tender and flavorful. My only issue with the sandwich was how soggy the bread was due to the amount of coleslaw and Russian dressing there was. The flavors made up for it though. Will I go back? Definitely. read more

Today 13 of my friends went to Attman's to celebrate a birthday. Earlier in the week I called and spoke with Oscar who assured me we would be set for 12 (last minute addition). I arrived 15 minutes early and was greeted by Ana (our STAR server) and her team as well as Oscar. They quickly set us up for 13 and the good times began. I am from Brooklyn and grew up eating kosher deli, this was GREAT. I will call out a few fan favs such as the rubens, of which many were ordered. The mediums were good for two people and they were delicious. The Knishes (not authentic Kabalas) were good too. They are soft, but the fillings are tasty. They have potato, meat and corned beef. The birthday guy ordered an Egg Cream. We we speak of Egg Cream's we bow our heads in reverence to a great and mighty drink. They use Fox's U-Bet which is like 90 percent of the effect. Ana, our amazing waitress combined it at the table in a way that was foreign to me. She bought a 4/5 glass of milk and a small cup of soda water and chocolate syrup. She mixed it table side, a nice entertainment feature. I love Ana so much and if she reads this I want her to know how we did it in the old country of Brooklyn at a soda shop. 3 squirts of U-bet in the cup, then the milk a bit more than 3/4, stir, then stir and add soda water. They were so lovely to cut up and serve the cake we brought. Overall the service was a 10 out of 10. Ana and her team were always asking if we needed anything else. The kept our cups full and were quick with requests. We will return. Recommended: Knishes, Rubens, Breakfasts and the fish platter. Well, I think I found it. There are some decent delis in Montgomery County, MD, but I think I need to put Attman's at the top of the list. Almost didn't come here, since I went to the Attman's at its previous Potomac location (years ago) and wasn't impressed. But two visits here have convinced me that this one is a keeper. First time here came and had a good breakfast. Omelet, potatoes, English Muffin and coffee. Good food and good service. Welcoming atmosphere and a pickle bar. Today, went back for the deli. After starting off with a stuffed cabbage - honestly, it brought back memories of spending time with my grandmother, although her gravy was sweeter - which was a nice size and filled with meat and other fillings and a good amount of tasty sauce. My partner thought the sauce was too sweet, but, funny to say, because my grandmothers sauce was so sweet, this tasted mildly sweet in comparison. My partner said they would get it again, but put less sauce on it. The cabbage and inside filling were outstanding. We each had the half deli sandwich with soup special ($16.99). We each had a half pastrami sandwich. I had the Maryland crab soup ($1 up charge on the special) and my partner had the Matzoh ball soup (also a $1 up charge). Both soups were delicious and large bowls. The crab soup was filled with vegis and each spoonful had bits of crab. The pastrami sandwich was good, too. Well seasoned pastrami. The Attman's deli mustard in squeeze bottle (on each table) was really good. The pickle bar is a nice touch. The bar has half sours, dill, pickled tomatoes, pickled onions and sauerkraut. I'm a big fan of full sour pickles, but they don't seem to be offered here, either at the pickle bar or at the deli counter. This place is definitely a winner, both for breakfast and lunch or dinner. Also likely will in the future take home some of their deli offerings, like whitefish salad and chopped liver, which they sell in an adjoining room. Our relatives took us here for some good old fashioned deli sandwiches on our visit. We were greeted by absolutely no one and waited for about 10 minutes to be seated. To our dismay, we were sat in the very back of the restaurant next to where the employees take their breaks in the sauna like back room. I can't explain the eye burning heat of the room. I always stop at Attman's for a nosh when I'm nearby. I've never had a sandwich, bagel or anything that wasn't delicious. I love their deli style tuna fish (dry, no frills) and their corn beef sandwiches are divine! And the Reubens with the fresh rye bread? They're darn good! I was visiting my friend in Rockville who had eaten here many times before and talked about it as a great Jewish deli so he took me here for brunch. It was VERY disappointing- We both ordered the LEO omelette and the lox was grilled before putting it in the omelette and the omlette was not fluffy or tasty at all- it was thin and tasteless. We complained to the server who shrugged her shoulders and said- "This is how it comes"- I also ordered their egg cream and it was flat-not the usual charged road with a "pop". Also, be wary of the pickle bar- looked and tasted like they hadn't changed the pickles for awhile- some of the pickles were soft and the sauerkraut was dried out. Attmans (partnered with Uber Eats delivery) was my savior yesterday. Id been up all night with a stomach bug and when I finally felt like eating something, all I wanted was chicken soup. I searched on Uber Eats and Attmans popped up with their matzoh ball soup. I added it to my cart and then continued looking. Blintzes? Yes! Potato knish? Yes, please! I remember Attman's Baltimore location and was pleasantly surprised when I found one in Potomac. I went for lunch with a friend and decided to take it easy with "just" an everything bagel with lox and cream cheese (and tomato and lettuce). As expected, the bagel was soft and chewy, the cream cheese was generous and smooth, with crisp lettuce and velvety, salty lox mixed perfectly with fresh tomato slices. Exactly what I needed to fill me up and get me ready for the afternoon. Next time, when I have the afternoon off, I'll dig into one of their giant sandwiches and take a long nap afterwards! I wasn't aware of this delicatessen. I've been to this shopping center so many times. I stopped in for a take out lunch and got the Attman's Chopped Chef Salad. I thought it was pricey for a salad at $17.99 but realized once I got it home how much salad I was getting. I finished the salad over two meals. The salad contained mixed greens, slices of turkey breast, ham, swiss cheese, carrots, cucumbers, hard boiled egg, and a choice of dressing. Service was slow because the person who took my order forgot about me. I was standing in front of the order counter the whole time. I thought I saw my salad sitting on the counter for a long time. It was then moved next to the register so I thought it probably wasn't mine. After some time, I moved closer to the counter, the person who took my order saw me and started looking for the salad. It actually was the salad that got moved. I saw a lot of items I would have picked up like the half sours. They also had quite a bit of desserts like Maryland Smith Island cakes and a good selection of cookies. They also have a sit down section which was a surprise for me. I think it would be a great place to come back and try the eat-in section. Surface parking is always difficult in this shopping center. There is an underground garage which I've never tried. My brother and I picked up our grandma and brought her here since she grew up loving the Baltimore location. It's accessible but a bit difficult to maneuver with her walker since the tables are so close together. The pickle bar is my favorite part of delis like this!!!! There's just something about a pickle bar!!! I ordered the combo special (half sandwich + soup/salad) and got roast beef on challah and matzo ball soup. The soup came immediately and it was very good. The corned beef was good - it was thinly sliced and I tend to prefer thicker corned beef. The challah was fine, a bit dry. This is one of our go to place for weekend brunch. We have been coming to Attman's for many years now and have been happy with the food and service here. Their current location is laid out well and has the takeout and grocery section in the front with seating at the side and back of the restaurant. There are ample seats but they may be a wait during busy times. they do have some outdoor seating as well. Service has generally been good - quick and friendly. They have an extensive menu and that may pose a challenge to pick what to eat. We depend on the service staff to get good advice on what to order if needed. The coffee is good here as well (compared to other diners). We also get pickle from their Pickle Bar. A very nice Jew-ish deli in the ground level retail area of the Park Potomac complex, just off the Montrose exit of I-270. Parking is kind of scattered, so you may have to vulture for a space. Not kosher, as various meat and cheese options are available, as well as crab soup harkening back to their Baltimore origins, and swine on the all-day breakfast menu. Just inside, there's a deli counter and carryout and a limited selection of beer and wine. Two dining rooms wrap around the base of the building. You'll find all the classics here, matzoh ball soup, knishes, Dr. Brown's sodas, and sandwiches with three levels of stuffing. The pickle bar is excellent. I was not crazy about the chopped liver sandwich, too sweet and texture more like a paté. The homemade potato chips were delicious. The hidden gem is the reuben fries, wedge cut and topped with pastrami, corned beef, sauerkraut, and cheese. Cordial service, prices not too bad considering the location in a high rent area. I had a wonderful experience at this little deli. You walk in and you can either order at the counter like a traditional deli or you can walk over to the dining room side for a sit down meal. We sat down in the dining room and had such a good waitress. When our food came out, she realized something was missing from our order before I even did. Also - their menu is HUGE! It was so hard to decide on one thing, so I ended up getting a few things. Their portions were very large, so even if you just get a sandwich, it's likely you'll be able to take home leftovers. First off, I knew I was going to love this place the second I saw the pickle bar. Great little appetizer to snack on while you're waiting for your food and an even better addition to your meal when it comes out. The matzo ball soup was sooo yummy, I would've been happy just getting this. It comes with veggies and chicken in it too even though you can't really tell from my picture. I also got the veggie reuben with fries. This was super yummy! It came with grilled zucchini, pepper, sauerkraut, swiss cheese, and their russian dressing. My friend that I went with loved the fries, but they were too thick for me. Basically a steak style fry that was mostly potato. I prefer fries much thinner than this, but that's just a personally preference. Last, I got a side of coleslaw that was delicious. We have found Attman's Delicatassen and stop in here any chance we get to order pastrami by the pound. We have never eaten at the restaurant, but definitely need to try it sometime in the future, since the menu looks extensive. However we have tried the meat knish and it is delicious. Very meaty and flaky pastry. We also have tried their variety of desserts like the black and white cookies and they are pretty good. The service is always quick and efficient. They take your order and you pay ok the mini grocery section. The ambiance is clean and casual. They have plenty of outdoor seating for dining and an indoor dining room as well.
