And for the Veg Heads there is something called a Grilled Cauliflower Steak. In the back of the restaurant is a large dining and event room, with outdoor seating. It is set up to handle a crowd. Check all of the pictures. There is Karaoke and live bands on the weekend. The music genre is as varied as the restaurant's menu. We kept our lunch simple today with an Oklahoma Smash Burger. A big beef patty with cheese, dressed with L,T,P&O. A side of crispy fries completed the basket. I noticed something different about the burger on the first bite. The tomato. The tomato had an unmistakable home-grown flavor. If you know, you know. I asked. Sure enough, grown in her husband's garden. An excellent burger. When we arrived at 6:30pm, the restaurant was about 60-70% full, mostly groups of friends or couples. Half of the available seating is outside, which is nice to be closer to the live music, though also more directly in contact with the hungry mosquitoes also there for dinner. This is a surf and turf spot, so we ordered several items to share: 1) marinated conch ($16.95 KYD) was good, remind me of the text you takowasabi (marinated octopus with wasabi), but without the wasabi lol. The plantain chips provided a nice crunch to accompany the chewier conch. 2) scallop appetizer ($16.75 KYD) was well cooked and tender, though the price for two not particularly large scallops felt on the higher side. 3) Abacus salad ($12.95 KYD) good salad though nothing to write home about. 4) Bone-in Angus ribeye 20oz with herb roasted bone marrow, Caribbean lobster mac 'n cheese, onion rings ($64.95 KYD) + Caribbean lobster tail ($10.00 KYD), I didn't try this but my friends enjoyed it. 5) Seafood risotto ($37.95 KYD): was creamy and rich, decent risotto. 6) Dry aged burger ($19.95 KYD): brioche bun, aged cheddar, crispy bacon, onion and tomato confit, swapped out fries for a salad. This is possibly one of the best burgers I've had in a really long time. It was delicious and I couldn't finish it so asked to take half of the burger to go, but they ended up throwing it away, which I was kinda annoyed at. They tried making amends by giving a free brownie for dessert but it really was nothing special compared to the burger so this final experience didn't leave the best taste in my mouth. Overall the food was good for a fancy night out. Def on the higher side for prices so plan ahead. The live music was really fantastic, they took some requests too, a few of the more enthusiastic customers sitting outside even got up from their tables to dance at one point.

Service was impeccable (of course we were the only people there). Atmosphere was fantastic with multiple chic booth seating areas that make the dining experience comfortable and private, but also several more open small table options and a beautiful bar. The location and parking is going to be a challenge for them. The Goldies that used to occupy that building experienced similar issues with parking because the lot is terribly designed. There is also a visibility issue because of the way the building is "tucked" under the level of the roadway. Best to park on the North side of the building and avoid the tight angles in front. We will be back, probably frequently, and with friends. It's a great atmosphere with great food and service.

We have been to Lollipops a couple of times in Tulsa and are intrigued about the Palace Rooms and the speakeasy and how they were going to fit all of this into the old Goldies. They just opened these two concepts in Tulsa and we figured they would be swamped this weekend so we decided to roadtrip to B'ville. I got the impression from the Tulsa media stories that they recommended reservations so I did that for the Bartlesville Palace Rooms. (It's pretty simple to do on their website.) They do not have a host at the door and there was just a sign that said seat yourself. Since we had a reservation and I didn't want to screw up their system, we checked in with the bartender. "Oh yeah, we've got a couple of reservations. Just grab whatever reserved spot you want." No one ever asked what the name was. We did grab a cozy booth area (couch, a couple of chairs and a coffee table). Great area for having cocktails. Not so much for dining. We sat for a while without service and then went to the bar to order drinks. Bartender said they would be delivered. We literally watched our drinks walk by our table a couple of times before the server checked back in with the bartender to see where they were supposed to go. She then grabbed us menus. That was all. Finally, the manager came by to see if we needed anything. We said we wanted to order an app and she took our order. While I didn't think the wait for the mushrooms was that long, the staff seemed to think it was. Another server came over to let us know it would be about four more minutes. Then the manager delivered our food and apologized. Again, the mushrooms were excellent! We decided that we would go dine elsewhere. It was honestly for a couple of reasons---I didn't want to eat off a coffee table (and we totally could have moved b/c they weren't that busy). And, I really didn't want to spoil the OK-ness of our experience here. (I really want to love this place.) We asked for the check and the manager, still our main server, was really perplexed. She wanted feedback and sat down with us in our booth. She shared a few things on how they were working kinks out. Totally personable and I would revisit just because she took the time to find out what we thought. Final thoughts: great vibe, probably a great cocktail place, menu looked interesting, if you want to dine, grab a table. I feel like if we had sat at the bar we might have stayed. Manager was excellent and is really trying to make this a stellar experience. Honestly, if it had not been for her, we probably would have walked out after our drinks.
