We went for dinner last night after seeing a friend post online about the place. With a 5:30pm reservation, we were the only people in the entire restaurant. This worried us a little at first. The cocktails were amazing and relatively inexpensive. Nice beer selection too. We started with appetizers and salads and they were excellent. I ordered the fillet for my entrée and it was absolute perfection. One of the best I have ever had, and I'm a big Mahogany/Morton's/Ruth's Chris fan. Service was impeccable (of course we were the only people there). Atmosphere was fantastic with multiple chic booth seating areas that make the dining experience comfortable and private, but also several more open small table options and a beautiful bar. The location and parking is going to be a challenge for them. The Goldies that used to occupy that building experienced similar issues with parking because the lot is terribly designed. There is also a visibility issue because of the way the building is "tucked" under the level of the roadway. Best to park on the North side of the building and avoid the tight angles in front. Long and rambling post so be prepared. Remember that a three is OK. While Palace Rooms has glimpses of greatness, it was just OK when we were there. I'll start with the pluses. The decore and vibe are excellent. It's retro without being kitschy. It's a cool location (downtown B'ville). The fried mushrooms were maybe the best I've head (rivaling by far Hideaway's). My aperol spritz was delicious. The manager was great! We have been to Lollipops a couple of times in Tulsa and are intrigued about the Palace Rooms and the speakeasy and how they were going to fit all of this into the old Goldies. They just opened these two concepts in Tulsa and we figured they would be swamped this weekend so we decided to roadtrip to B'ville. I got the impression from the Tulsa media stories that they recommended reservations so I did that for the Bartlesville Palace Rooms. (It's pretty simple to do on their website.) They do not have a host at the door and there was just a sign that said seat yourself. Since we had a reservation and I didn't want to screw up their system, we checked in with the bartender. "Oh yeah, we've got a couple of reservations. Just grab whatever reserved spot you want." No one ever asked what the name was. We did grab a cozy booth area (couch, a couple of chairs and a coffee table). Great area for having cocktails. Not so much for dining. We sat for a while without service and then went to the bar to order drinks. Bartender said they would be delivered. We literally watched our drinks walk by our table a couple of times before the server checked back in with the bartender to see where they were supposed to go. She then grabbed us menus. That was all. Finally, the manager came by to see if we needed anything. We said we wanted to order an app and she took our order. While I didn't think the wait for the mushrooms was that long, the staff seemed to think it was. Another server came over to let us know it would be about four more minutes. Then the manager delivered our food and apologized. Again, the mushrooms were excellent! We decided that we would go dine elsewhere. It was honestly for a couple of reasons---I didn't want to eat off a coffee table (and we totally could have moved b/c they weren't that busy). And, I really didn't want to spoil the OK-ness of our experience here. (I really want to love this place.) We asked for the check and the manager, still our main server, was really perplexed. She wanted feedback and sat down with us in our booth. She shared a few things on how they were working kinks out. Totally personable and I would revisit just because she took the time to find out what we thought. Final thoughts: great vibe, probably a great cocktail place, menu looked interesting, if you want to dine, grab a table. I feel like if we had sat at the bar we might have stayed. Kim was amazing as this was our first time here. We were not pressured and was given ample amount of time to become acquainted with the menus and process. She is the reason we will be back for sure. Went with a group from work for lunch. The pizzas are pretty good. The burgers were pretty bad (chewy/bland). The service is always great and they are very friendly. Everyone gets one of the custom lollipops they make next door. Tip: you can actually order off their menu or the lollipops pizza place menu. Hidden Gem in Downtown Bartlesville - A Must-Try! I arrived in downtown Bartlesville, OK late at night and happened to spot this charming place during my drive in. With most places winding down for the evening, I decided to call in an order and walk over from my hotel and I'm so glad I did! I ordered the Greek salad and the Harvest Moon wood-fired pizza, and both were absolutely phenomenal. The salad was incredibly fresh and came with a bright, zesty lemon vinaigrette dressing that tied everything together. The pizza was cooked to perfection in a wood-fired oven. It came loaded with flavorful toppings: garlic oil, fresh mozzarella, spinach, prosciutto, Alfredo sauce, a blend of mozzarella, wood-fired chicken, asparagus slices, basil chiffonade, and a ranch drizzle to finish it off. Every bite was layered with rich, balanced flavors that made it stand out as one of the best pizzas I've had in a long time. Even though I took my meal to-go, the interior felt quaint, cozy, and relaxing. I truly wish I had arrived earlier to enjoy the full dine-in experience. Saturday Morning Brunch 1. Excellent cocktails. 2. Fabulous food. 3. Friendly and caring server. My wife and I are coffee snobs, and we usually have difficulty finding coffee that meets our standards when dining out. It's worth coming here for the coffee alone. They serve freshly brewed drip coffee with a custom blend of fresh heavy cream and whole milk that is so good that you could have that alone for breakfast. If you want to misbehave, they have generous shots of Licor 43, a fantastic vanilla/citrus Spanish liqueur that should make their coffee forbidden (or you can have any other delicious liquor that you can imagine). I had the fire-roasted salmon and asparagus with a side of fire-roasted carrots, and my wife had the frittata with mushrooms, sausage, and bell pepper. Both were excellent and arrived promptly. The truffle fries are a must if you like truffles as much as I do. The seasoning is subtle, not overpowering, which is often the case elsewhere. They were excellent! Our server (Helen) went out of her way to ensure we were happy. She had excellent cocktail recommendations and did an admirable job guiding our choices for brunch menu items. Had a reservation issue 2nd visit-restaurant has nice "booths" (clearly best seats)-when we asked about them 1st visit we were told reservation only. So for our 2nd visit, since we had guests, wife made reservations, but a walk in for drinks (no reservation?) was in our "reservation only" booth. First solution offered was "would you mind sitting somewhere else"? Not really the ideal situation but we are pretty easy restaurant customers and had guests. Update: A few months later, we wanted to go back. There was an event on the street that day so the street was closed. It wasn't clear what the involvement was of Palace Rooms, but we figured "go in and ask". As we walked in, the owner was walking out. I would expect to be acknowledged regardless, but I had spoken to the owner both times I had been in previously so I was surprised he didn't acknowledge us at all. He didn't say a word and it was impossible for him not to see us....we passed at the door. When we went in, there was no one there. We waited (again, we are easy customers) and no one appeared. No hostess, no bartender, there was no one to even ask. Needless to say we were disappointed. Why a 3? The food was good. Service not so much. read more

Have been several times. Weekdays when not busy, the food is decent but hard to chase down a server. That being said...tonight. Valentine's Day. The place was packed at 6pm. Just to get a drink order was a solid 15min. No one seemed to know who was supposed to be doing what. Special Vday menu: salad was fine, "fresh" bread was cold and stale, entrees...what can I say? Over an hour later the pasta arrived not room temp, but actually cold. The tenderloin was $47 and inedible. I think they were overwhelmed and completely unprepared. We should have grabbed a clue overhearing all the tables around us cancelling orders and leaving. I hate the term, "It's good for Bartlesville", since we should have higher expectations than mediocre. ETA: Owner followed up the next day. This was a first time run at an experience like this. Lessons were learned and improvement opportunities noted. We will definitely be back as we like to support local and the various appetizers and drinks are really, really good. The food was just as delicious as we had expected and heard about from demanding dear devil women we are directed by each day to do their deeds or will be destroyed by divorce. They got bottles of wine to keep them distracted whilst I enjoyed my dreams and bites. The service and owners are top notch! Check this place out then keep it on your rotation for lunch, dinners, and date night. Bring your wife one night and your girlfriend the next. I assume the Palace will be happy to keep your secret. Maybe because this place used to have a brothel that beckons my curiosity but the rooms upstairs are nice and ready for your next adventure with whoever you may host. I'll be back and expect the restaurant will have a lot better reviews soon so I'm getting mine in early so I can get credit for their soon to be huge success. The employees were nice, the ambiance was chill. I ordered a soft pretzel which was a good texture but the seasoning (salt/garlic?) was a little strong, but would be perfect for those who love salt. I also ordered a pornstar (passion fruit) martini, which I first didn't think was mine because it didn't look like a pornstar martini. Sadly, it didn't taste like a pornstar martini either, more like straight vodka with some (very) subtle flavoring. The drinks my friends had looked much nicer and they enjoyed them. The girl who comes up to leave us the pizza sets it down in front of the wrong people and when told it's for another person she quickly walks off and says "you can do that". One of the pizzas is made incorrectly and there's no sign of the third one arriving. With excellent staff, delicious food, and a cool, sexy-casual atmosphere Palace Rooms is definitely a restaurant worth five stars. The staff was attentive but not over bearing, the drinks were as elegant as they were fair priced. The Pornstar Martini has definitely taken a spot on my list of Go-To's. The seating arrangement was classy but not conventional for eating complete meals as the seats are low and the tables are lower, but this is easily made up for with the use of serving trays in place of traditional dinnerware. All-in-all, Palace Rooms pass our review with near flying colors and we will be visiting again! read more
