We came as a party of 3 and we ordered Fattoush salad, mixed grill platter, and mixed appetizer to try the different dips that have. In the mixed grill platter we tried chicken, beef and lamb kebabs. I loved the flavors and they were nicely grilled. The chicken was not dry at all, but very juicy. The service was really quick since there were only two tables around 7:30pm when we arrived at the restaurant. The restaurant is kind of like a hole in a wall because it's located in a small plaza that might get missed by others. Wanted some middle eastern food and Baghdad came highly recommended. Food was great, service was exceptional (Thanks Aransa) and the price per portion size was amazing. You get a TON of food with an entree. We took home half of what we ordered. So...in reality - if you order 2 entrees you get enough for that meal and another one. Baghdad was an unexpected surprise. First, the parking is alright, but this lot itself can get crowded. Second, the service was phenomenal. Our server was able answer and provide us some really good recommendations. She was attentive and ensured that my husband and I were taken care of. Third, and most importantly, the food. The food was really delicious. I got the lamb Kabsa. It came with rice, pita bread, salad, hummus, a yogurt sauce, olives, and a side of soup. The hummus was so creamy and different from what I was used to. It was more decadent and rich. The pita bread was warm and crispy in some areas. The lamb was a flavor bomb and reminds me of a light lamb curry but definitely not the heavy and strong nodes of curry that you would get in a curry dish. The kabob mix plate was good as well. My personal preference within the three kabobs (chicken, beef, and lamb), I favored the chicken. My husband enjoyed every bit of it and decently priced for the amount of food you get. Food was incredible. Their homemade hot sauce is fire. We shared the huge Bagdad plate. It was more than enough for 2. They say it should feed 4 and I think it would be light for 4 but enough for 3. Food was fresh and tasty and I had no complaints about it. They seemed a bit understaffed as we were slow to get refills on water and our check etc.. We really enjoyed our food here. Was quite delicious, however my sandwich was a bit wet. Also, the prices listed on their website are different than what is actually on the menu. We tried this restaurant for the first time, recently. I got the vegetarian platter from their lunch menu. It was excellent! I can't imagine that the portions are smaller than the dinner menu, because there was so much food - 3 falafels, 3 stuffed grape leaves, hummus, baba ganoush, salad, tabbouleh, rice, and pitas. All this for $10.99, and it was delicious! My husband got lamb from the dinner menu, and said it was probably the best he had ever eaten. It, too, was very reasonably priced. The food here is not bad it is made to order and satisfied my appetite but nothing more. The restaurant is tidy but not pristine, a little on the late 80s and 90s decor end. The staff is welcoming helpful clear and friendly. I order the Beef Kafta Kabob Sandwich Combo to-go (Meal+Fries+Soda of your choice). It would have been best if I stayed there to eat because by the time I got home the fries were soggy but still tasty. The Kafta was not bad but needed more flavor that would have given it the kick that I wanted. The hummus was pretty tasty definitely no problem there. The parking lot and the way to get in was troubling. Your best bet is to turn in by the entrance of the Discount Tire Co. Colorado Blvd is busy on both sides and if you are not quick you will get T-boned by a car heading south and most likely tailgated by a Speed Racer driver from behind heading north while turning into the parking lot. read more

I had eaten in the Baghdad Restaurant several times before the pandemic, I remember the was quite good considering there are more Middle Eastern restaurants in the Denver area than most people would expect. First time back today in almost two years, I was glad to see they were still around. I was going to order lamb but then saw this breakfast dish Tashreeb Bagella so decided to give it a try. The dish was made of layers of flatbread, with fava beans on top covered by an omelet, drizzled with olive oil, lemon juice and some spices which I could not tell what it was. This might have been the first time I ate eggs with lemon juice but it was surprisingly good. The portion was quite big and I could only finish half and had to get a to go box for the rest. Baghdad Restaurant was recommended by a good friend who was born and raised in Baghdad, Iraq. He said it is the only restaurant in the state that tastes like "home." A couple girlfriends and I became excited to try authentic Iraqi food, so we made a date day of it. We had the chicken, beef, and lamb kabobs and the tashreeb lamb. The tashreeb lamb melted in the mouth and was the table favorite! The kabobs were also delicious and the two types of basmati rice that accompanied were a delicious surprise. To end the meal, you MUST splurge on a cup of Turkish coffee! I have not stopped thinking about that little cup of deliciousness since my first sip!
